The Big Short (2015)

What the movie left out
25 January 2020
I kept waiting for the film to point out the main culprit behind the financial crisis, which was not Wall Street "greed" but bad monetary and credit policies from the Federal Reserve and the federal government. The Community Reinvestment Act forced banks to make loans to people who couldn't afford it...but you never hear this, and you're certainly not going to hear it from the famously anti-business. Hollywood.

Too long but really never boring
21 July 2019
All the one star reviews here seem rather suspicious to me, as if it was a group coordinated effort. Was it long? Yes. There was a lot of banter, but in a good Tarantino sort of way. I like the new direction Vince Vaughn is taking lately, and that's why I give this movie 9 anchovies out of 10

My dog loved it
21 November 2018
I love this movie. And the animation was brilliant and so unique that my dog was totally engaged...and barking at the screen.

I will I was a Crazy Rich Asian.

In reading some of the negative reviews here with words like "Conspicuous Consumption" and "Wealth Porn" we are not really looking at the substance of the movie, but rather a Socialist critique of money and the people who have it in abundance. I love that Asia has turned its back on the Communist poverty-stricken past and is now engaging in Commerce instead, and it has created a societal infrastructure that we should all strive for.

Exciting new direction
28 January 2018
I put off watching this movie for quite a while, but I ended up really liking it. I was getting tired to VV movies, but this is a new refreshing badass direction for Vince Vaughn and I am interested to see what he will do in the future.

Great SJW entertainment (mild spoilers)
17 July 2017
Warning: Spoilers
My wife and I find this show very entertaining, though there are often times I find myself rolling my eyes. The heroin starts of as a nun (sister) who, after several episodes in, is actually Jewish (because nothing screams JUDAISM more than a blond hair blue-eyed Aryan married to Jesus). She is the moral conscience of the show, because in today's world morality means illegally disposing of a body, contemplating abortion, having sex outside of marriage, etc. Oh, and she is a Leftist/Communist freedom fighter/activist, at a time in history when Leftists/Communists killed people by the tens of millions. The anti-Communists in this show are either dimwitted or outrageously cruel. The rest of the cast seems heavily populated with gays (perhaps an exaggeration on my part), but since the writer, Bevan Lee, is gay, well, you write what you know. Never mind that in real life gays only comprise 2.8% of the population. Everyone in the shows needs to be taught a lesson in acceptance (they do call shows like this "Programming" for a reason). It is however a very captivating show and I will no doubt continue watching.
