HOLY HELL!
14 February 2019 | by anghartSee all my reviews

S. Craig Zahler is the writer/director to watch. His previous two films, "Bone Tomahawk" and "Brawl in Cell Block 99" were brutal masterpieces, and his latest effort "Dragged Across Concrete" is a welcome addition to his resume.

DAC is filled with the usual hard-boiled characters we've come to expect from Zahler, and Gibson and Vaughan deliver in their roles BIG TIME!!

The film is packed with Zahler's witty dialog and extreme violence. Although more of a slow build then his previous efforts, DAC does dish out some major onscreen carnage. If you're a fan of gritty, no nonsense crime movies, DAC should be right up your alley. .

Unlike other films that feel the need to explain every little angle, DAC lets the viewer fill in the blanks, and I found that very refreshing. And I wasn't bored once during the films epic 159 minute running time. The characters are compelling and the performances are spot on.

Easily Zahler's most accessible work, DAC is awesome and worth checking out if you're a fan of crime thrillers or Gibson. I wasn't disappointed, and you shouldn't be either.

It's a cold, hard world Zahler has built, and I look forward to my next visit to his bleak creation.
