Added to my annual 'Must watch" Christmas movies
2 December 2022
I saw "Last Christmas" in the theater and fell in love! Harry Golding and Emilia Clarke are enchanting. At first, Emilia's character's faults and mistakes are painful to watch...as they should be. She meets an irrepressible young man who gently teaches her to appreciate life and become the best version of herself. Instead of making you smile/cry at the end, you will laugh/smile despite the twist before the final scene.

A beautifully made movie with great characters that you will enjoy and may even relate to. "Last Christmas" is the epitome of what a great Christmas movie should be. Can't imagine what the problem is with those who've rated it lower - bah, Humbug to those whose hearts aren't melted by Tom Webster!

Beautiful love story
27 February 2020
I saw this in the theater and adored it. Beautifully paced and the acting was outstanding. I was so happy when it won the "Best Picture" Oscar as it certainly deserved it. I had to check if the lead actress, Sally Hawkins, was actually mute or not; she did that great a job. I was disappointed in the TV version, but it was still outstanding. A timeless story I plan on watching over and over.

Jojo Rabbit (2019)

Beautiful, funny and heartbreaking
9 February 2020
I saw all Oscar best picture nominees and this is the only one that I wanted to applaud at the end. All the actors were exceptional and the coming of age in WWII German town was beautifully done. I didn't expect to laugh as much as I did, but there are somber moments, too. Just like life, especially during war. If you haven't seen it, you must!

Effective slow building horror
17 January 2020
I thought the pacing was perfect and I liked the blending of the horror done by man that leads to just though heartbreaking justice. The ending was effective and well-done. I will watch this one again.

Better than I expected
28 September 2018
Warning: Spoilers
I enjoyed Seann William Scott in "Bullet Proof Monk" and I think he is the perfect one to keep the show going. The show stumbled a little at the start, but that is probably to be expected. Unlike other reviewers, I thought the chemistry with the two lead actors was promising. Like others, I was sorry to hear about Clayne Crawford and I hope he has a new job soon (with a much cleaner, better haircut and wardrobe). I did think the show did a nice farewell to Riggs by Murtagh and his psychiatrist at the end. I will stick it out for a while to see if the next few shows are able to build on the chemistry of the new partners. Good luck, Seann William Scott!
