Nice Date Night Movie
28 January 2022
Warning: Spoilers
And thought it looked interesting. We will watch movies like this because we've seen him and they are formulaic. Formula was really good. That surprised us. That surprised me. I enjoyed the soft, subtle, unrushed thing that was happening on the screen. I enjoyed the nice light touches of love and romance. I enjoyed sitting there watching this thing on phone with the older couple. I enjoyed watching the main story with the younger couple unfold a little bit of head of the old couple. It was a great story and the lead female looked a lot like Melissa Sue Gilbert. I enjoyed the relationship of the two brothers over the barbecue shack. It was pleasant like a warm fire on a cold night. The scenery was beautiful.

FIf? You did it again!
16 November 2020
Wow! I loved this film! I loved "Get Rich Or..." Loved this! Have we seen this before? Hails Yeah! Does it matter? Hails Nah!

Nice story and nice using the environment of New York. So this elevates you (in my mind) as an Artist/Creator. This was right up there with "Juice" , "New Jack City" and movies like this.

I appreciate your Creative Vibe. I studied "Power" (seasons 1-5). Studied = studied. I wasn't just looking for story but for camera angles, lighting, story arks, chemistry...all that. Guess what I found? All that and a bag of chips.

Watching this, I learned something very interesting. I learned that your albums up to this + "Get Rich Or" + "Before I..." gave us "Power".

Thank you. Fif, you did it again!

Black Lightning (2018–2021)

I like this show. I like it a lot.
6 February 2019
Warning: Spoilers
If Previous President Obama, , Frederick Douglass, Bishop T.D. Jakes, Steve Harvey and Dr. King wanted to sit at a table and write a show that would touch the communities that they represent, Black Lightning would be that show.

My problem? I like each and every one of those folks at the table, therefore I like this show a lot.

Because of this show I've; A) talked to my 14-year-old about the Rodney King Incident. B) discussed and expounded on the images of positive parenting (which I watched on another show named for a guy that shall remain nameless because he's 80 and in jail on a 30 year sentence for his crimes against humanity). C) highlighted beyond the personal example he sees every day of the love, trust and family solutions that a couple have to navigate through to deliver the family to Success despite the odds. D) confirmed my weekly, and sometimes daily, sermons about the need for Academic Achievement over Street Cred. How? Street Cred will always put you in a situation where a guy named "LaLa" can shoot you in the back of the head because he just doesn't like you. E) explained that "with Great Power comes great responsibility (TM) ." Wrong universe I know but I pull from everywhere to insure the success of family (i.e. Gandhi, Mother Theresa, Muhammad Ali, Thor and Hiemdall". We cross racial and human boundaries.)

So many more reasons why this show should get a 2nd and 3rd season. #FingersCrossed. I like this show. I like it a lot. Superheroes. Notable Quotes. A Rapper named Krondon. A High School Principal that leads a double life in a good way. A Highs School Teenage with Powers ("...use your powers for good Son, not evil..." My Sermon # 2345). Even a daughter that WANTS TO follow in her Father's footstep. What more could a Dad ask for.

Dell made a mess
15 January 2019
This movie was brilliant! Here's why: 1) Heart-warmingly funny. 2) Rich in comedic moments. 3) Great chemistry between all the Cast Members and not just the two leads. 4) African American Culturally Strong. 5) Fatheristically Real. 6) WONDERFULLY SILLY and ROMANTICALLY FEASIBLE. 7) Great location and logically plotted story-line. 8) Understandingly exciting. 9) Great Dramatic timing. 10) Worth every second of a Minimum 3-Time Watch. 11) Lovely Roar that caused the line "Dell made a mess". 12) Visually stunning. 13) Light and airy just like the wind. 14) Painfully emotionally. 15) Definitely "feeling the love". 16) Definitely "feeling the sarcasm".

My list is endless but I digress. This made me feel the same way that "Schindler's List" (anther wonderful film) and "Beautiful Mind" (really great film).

These type of films are what my Film Production Company wants to do. What's that? I'm glad you asked. Our Mission: To Tell Human Stories to Other Humans that touch or invoke Humanity.

#LongLiveTheBard #KevinHart_YouDidThatThang. #KevinHart_KeepUpTheGoodWork.

By the way, imagine how this movie would been received if the #OscarsHostTrouble had not happened. Maaaaaannnn, shoot! (In the words of my Wife's deceased Grandfather). Thanks for listening.

Opening Scene had me at "Hello".
21 December 2018
Love this movie. Wife found it and after opening scene, I was hooked. It was funny. It was cool. It had a great story and reminded me of "13 going on 30" and "Pretty Woman". I love both of those. ERGO, I love this and highly recommend it (esp to guys). Wink! #NufSed

Wife's Favorite and I'm ok with that!
21 December 2018
This is one of my wife's favorite movie. It's this and "The Imitation of Life". I'm ok with that. I can go from one to the other and back with ever crying "Wolf" .

#ThisMovieRaightHere is even better because I just found out that Overbrook Entertainment had a hand in producing this. Whoa! I find that amazing. I might have to find out how much because this movie has so good stuff in it.

To me it seems as if in "The Wright Stuff" someone modeled/molded the story to compliment "L & B" and that makes me like the movie even more.

Great emotional content. Great Basketball stuff and good romance. If I was a Screenwriter (and I am) I would write stuff just like this. So it's safe to say with my films, I'll be chasing "L&B" and I don't mind and extended chase. I love this film!

Folks, if you get an chance, check this and then go see #NappilyEverAfter to watch the growth of an Artist named #SanaaLathan. You will not be sorry.

Ali Wong: Hard Knock Wife (2018 TV Special)

"A" for 2!
19 November 2018
Warning: Spoilers
The always unapologetic and nasty first time mom gets real on a bunch of topics and then keeps it real. She must have known how big of a hit her first special was (of course, she did). On this 2nd special she does the exact same thing and does it bigger, better (could she really outdo her 1st) and stronger!

She is my 6 Million Dollar Comedian. She rebuilt herself with more debauchery....more nasty...more a fouled mouth and more P-jokes. My goodness gracious sakes alive! I'm a Black guy and she has this joke about Black Guys that made me almost spit my juice out.

She is funny....funny.. funny. Her audiences love her and even when they get squeamish, she queafs and quaffs a good raunch and they laugh. There, Problem solved!

I'm glad she's around and hopes she continues doing comedy for a long time. I really have been looking for the re-incarnation of George Carlin. I think I find it and I'm gonna ride it until the wheels fall off. Ali, you went "A' for 2.

Let's get a three-peat!

Ali, don't be a hero..
19 November 2018
Warning: Spoilers
I love my new-found guilty pleasure female comic that reminds me of Katt Williams who reminds me of Richard Pryor. So does that make Ali Wong the Female Asian Richard Pryor? For me, hells yeah!

I loved it even when I WAS cringing for the debauchery of it all. Oh the debauchery! Oh the foul, filth and filth. I loved every minute.

Ali is a force to be reckoned bit because every crazy face and weird contortion and mention of the P-word and when she laid on the ground and opened herself to demonstrate how she and her husband had to perform after sex rituals to insure pregnancy, I wondered why would she do all that.

Ali, don't be a hero gwon (that's a word from the South) and tell us why you would do all that. Her Answer? "Cuz I don't wanna work no more!"

Funny Stuff! And to think that I was surfing and found her 2nd Comedy Special and had to go back to her 1st...and she's a comedy writer to boot! Man!!!

Yesssssss! A Jack Ryan that I always wished for
14 November 2018
Warning: Spoilers
How did the Production Team know? How did they hear my heart? Finally, A Jack Ryan that had always wished for...and he turns out to be "the Guy" from The Office and he ends up being "The Guy" from 13 Hours? Are you kidding me? Perrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrfecccccccccttttttttt Casttttttttitng! Perfect!

Now add Wendell Pierce? OMG! Wonderfully written and great believable story-lines. Great Angst by The Director of T-FAD. Good solid Love interest with the right amount of Push-Pull. The Terrorist is a guy bent on Destruction using "The Softer Side" of intellectual Chess (a smaller plot that segway into a larger nastier plot.

AND HE LEAVES HIS SON TO BE ARRESTED AS HE TRIES TO ESCAPE IN THE LAST EPISODE? I was yelling at the screen the whole time during the chase, "Jack take the shot! Jake take the shot!" And then he took it and took Suleiman down. Yes!

Now if I could just get a role. I mean, I've read all the books while patrolling on my Submarine during my time in the Navy. We were #41ForFreedom and because of Jack accompanying me on my 101-day underwater patrols, I knew we had become 42.

Thank you John for developing and producing this piece. Loved you in "The Office". Was ecstatic about seeing you in "13 Hours". And now, I know one thing, #DangJohn-you got skillz. Thank you for breathing life into Tom Clancy, my favorite Author outside of Shakespeare and Hemingway. Whoo! Can't wait for Season Two. Hopefully, it will have me in it. Wink! Wink! Say no more. Say No More!

YouTube Video of "Best Moments #8" says it all...Pinky Swear.
10 November 2018
Warning: Spoilers
So Antonio Banderas (Voice of Puss-In-Boots solo piece and the same character in Shrek) now has t permission to use more than his voice or his Swordsman Skills to wreck havoc? I love it!!

This movie proves that being an Old Guy Rocks. I'm an Old Guy and I rock! Loved seeing this guy (Dude with a Problem) talk to and fight for a little girl whose troubles make his PTSD seem like unrecognizable and unidentifiable cloud. Wow!

Die Hard Volume 15...and this formula never, ever, EVER gets old. Pinky Swear.

Black Panther (2018)

Worth 40 years of waiting...
9 November 2018
Yes it was! I read Black Panther comics as a child (1970's) and I knew that one day I would see it on screen. Seeing was not even the best gift. The best gift was not even being BG/Featured Extra. The best gift was when my children and Family/Friends spotted me in the movie at least 2 minutes before I did. Yes!!!

This movie was everything I hoped for. Full of Action. Strong Ethnic collaborations. Beautiful wardrobe/costumes. Emotionally vulnerability for all the stars-starting with Dr. Chad Boseman. A wonderful working atmosphere and just a fun place to participate in a life-changing, cinema changing, movie-making work of art. Oh my Stars and Garters.

It was so good that Black Panther 2 is an automatic Blockbuster hit making 2x the money made by the 1st. Hint: as of this writing the 2nd one is not even made yet.

Black Panther is the reason why #iAmTheMoviemakingBusiness.

Jack Jack is The Man
5 November 2018
Warning: Spoilers
This movie was GREAT!! Like TONY The Tiger (TM) "Grrrrreaaat!!" I loved it. My kids loved it and the time in the movie together was great (and it was even interrupted by a phone call to handle a work-related call that took 15 minutes). OMG, this movie was so much fun!

The plot was delicious and the "New" Protagonist of The Incredibles Family WAS AWESOME! I secretly wanted Elastic Girl to have her own movie in the sun but never wanted to remove her from her family...BUT this movie was everything I wanted in a sequel. Now, if we could just get this feel from the sequel to #BadBoys in #BadBoys4Life. Well, that's another story for another day.

I love the Family Angst, the teenager girl angst, the sibling angst and the Career Hero Angst. Ahhhh! Wonderful linear story from plot point to plot point. The story drove at a good solid pace to a great finale. What's the finale? The Incredibles 3: Jack Jack's Rescue.

Love the Governmental bureaucracy dealing with "The Supers" and the Elon Musk Advocate to help. Love the Antagonist! Did not see that coming! And the smidgen of the Disney Age of Ultron/Civil War nod? Excellent!

I say we stretch this family until #5! And let's let Elastic Girl get pregnant and bring another Super into the world riiiight after Jack Jack gets matures his powers.

#MustSee film of a wonderful Family Franchise! #GoDisneyGoDisneyGo! #GoPixarGoPixarGo! Thanks for listening and reading.

#lifeIsStrange_HealthcareIsStranger
1 November 2018
Warning: Spoilers
By the end of this short film (14 minutes), you whole heartedly agree with the title.

1st-Non Actor/Creative stuff. This film is a great film. This is a really good Horror film. A good Horror French film. It started out with a nice movie feel and by 5 minutes in, you realize that this is a great film. Intellectually stimulating and intriguing through and through. The story pacing is great. The story is very engaging and worth every second of the 14-minute real life separation. The original music or (Musique Originale) by John Kaced was a great selection to continue to engage and keep one engaged with the unfolding story. Sheesh (that's for the story)! BRAVO! BRAVO!

Premise Note: This is a simple story incredibly told Patients visiting their Doctors. That's it. Tigers, Lions and Bears Oh my! The story twists are heart -breaking.

Now-Actor/Creative/Filmmaking Stuff. This film started out with a montage of Patients being scanned for Healthcare reasons. This helped to ground the film and #KeepItReal. After the initial scan, we are off to "consult" with their "Medical Advisor" (huh?)

The Medical Advisor was one-part Doctor, one-part Insurance Agent, one-part Scanner/I.T. Specialist, all parts scary. No suspension of disbelief here. The Actor portrayals/choices were very strong. The Director added incredible timing and gravitas through their directions. The Director brought the story to a heightened edge without not using scare tactics but by intellect, humor and intelligent design to move linearly and logically to the conclusion.

Other stuff: Love the date of these stories, 13_01_2049 and the name of the Scanner-Sherlock. Nice touch! After going through Sherlock, Patients and Doctors dialogue about their Health Status and their Health Solutions/treatments. My Goodness! Sheesh!

At this point of the reading, please revisit the Premise Note. You have constantly remind yourself of that premise. It's the thing that I love about this piece. I loved that I was constantly reminded of the International Crisis known as Healthcare. I loved that the Director and Film-maker used music, silence, camera-stillness, shoulder shrugs and extreme eye-contact to tell this wonderful, beautiful, poignant but scary story with Minority Report screens.

I bet this film was hard to make but was a fun story to tell. Bravo! Bravo to the story-tellers here (that's anybody connected to this, including the Actors). Can we get here with our Healthcare Industry? God I hope not but with what we see today Healthcare2025 in real life might parallel this movie dated 2049.

Conclusion: Life is Strange but Healthcare is Strange (as in Stranger Things (TM) strange). Wink...Wink.
