Brilliantly Written and Entertaining To the Last Second
18 January 2012
I found this film while catching up on Zachery Bryan's recent work. I ended up finding not only did he shine in this film, but so did Kyle Gallner. Every second of this film was genuinely entertaining, filled with unexpected twists and turns sprinkled with scary yet strangely humorous situations. I haven't both laughed and jumped out of my seat so much during a film since Army of Darkness. I would highly suggest taking 20 minutes of your time to see this masterpiece of a short film. It's wonderfully written and filled with moments that will make you smile when you remember the film long after you've seen it. Highly recommended. I'll be looking for more from these writers.

For The Eye Candy Only
26 January 2007
This film offers a more "real" take on the life of a vampire, minus the cartoony stuff like the mirrors, the shape-changing, the pointy teeth and tons of other stuff that most people associate with vampirism. The problem is, this film only ended up PROVING that all those cartoony things may be what is needed to tell a successful vampire tale. It follows on man who, on the way to his sister's wedding across the country, ends up tangled in another man's mission to "cure" himself of a vampire virus. Lots of car chases, blood, over-the-top acting, and eye candy galore (see Brendan Fehr and Simon Rex) Don't pay to see this film, but if you're bored and don't feel like looking for the remote, go ahead and partake. Just don't expect much.

Action, adventure and Lots of Laughs
4 January 2007
Warning: Spoilers
I enjoyed this film immensely. I'm really into films where females kick lots of butt, so this film already had my hopes up for some decent entertainment. My hopes were met and exceeded less than 20 minutes into the film. The action, humor and wit this film contained easily made it one of my favorite films of all time. It had Sam Jackson and his undeniable screen presence, Geena Davis as I've never seen her before, demanding your respect and flat out taking it even if you don't want to give it.

Geena plays Samantha Caine, an amnesiac desperate to remember something about her past, but quickly realizing, the more she finds out the more she wants to forget and eventually becomes consumed until finally Samantha is so more and Charly is all that's left. But now, can Charly and Sam, two completely different women, possibly exist in the same body? We have characters that pop in and out of the film that nurture each side of Sam/Charly, like Sam Jackson, and Craig Bierko. Craig is also irresistible as Timothy, the sexy bad guy with no conscience.

This film was perfectly casted, and perfectly acted, over the top and wonderfully entertaining. You watch the impossible happen and applaud when it does. SO worth your time. Watch it, you won't be sorry.

Good Stuff!!

Warning: Spoilers
I really enjoyed this espisode!! I had never heard of a "horror satire" until I saw this film. I was very pleased with the imagination and care that was given to writing this story.

The film is about a subject we can all relate to as being frustrating- Dirty Politics and war. In the story, the country is at war yet again, and a popular politician makes a very public wish assuring the public if the fallen soldiers could come back they'd still support the cause. Then of course, slain soldiers from all over begin to rise from the dead in order to vote-against him. Makes you think, doesen't it? Awesome! Someone really had their thinking cap on when they wrote this film, it kept my full interest the entire show, even the subplots were so interesting I refused to move from the couch until the credits had finished rolling. Don't miss it.

Warning: Spoilers
How did this make it out of the idea room?? Really?? The money spent on production of this film would have had better use if it had been put in cash form and dumped over the poorest neighborhood in the poorest country in the world. The only reason I gave this film a "2" was because the idea of psychic link was kind of cool ( and a bit comical) at one point, (if you've seen it, then you know what part I'm talking about)but other than that, the film was a muddled mess.

A man, suddenly linked in a psychic way to a beautiful woman. The story could have taken a good turn perhaps if the ending wasn't obviously written in 2 minutes..in crayon....right before the end of the work day...and maybe the writer also had to go to the bathroom. ....Both thumbs down so low I could break them on the floor.

Kill Me Now!!
30 December 2006
Warning: Spoilers
I forced myself to stay awake late into the night in order not to miss this episode, and now I wish I had just gone ahead and fallen asleep. This entire episode kept no interest to me at all and I prayed it would be over 10 minutes after it started. It seemed to just be a vehicle for someone's fascination for some ugly girl they knew long ago but was too ashamed to get with for obvious reasons. Jenifer was all they imagined her to be.

After a while you start to ask yourself: Why didn't he just put a bag over her head? The reason: Later in the film, and obviously put there simply for desperate shock factor, Jenifer starts eating people. Yet, the idiot still stays with her. No lovin's that good. Completely unbelievable and awful waste of time film.

I want my hour back!
30 December 2006
Warning: Spoilers
I began watching this film and less than 20 minutes into it, I had to talk myself though finishing it. I suppose its my fault because I always watch film adaptation of H.P Lovecraft's work thinking the same thing every time "This time It's GOT to be better."...Well, I was wrong yet again.

The plot circles around a young man who moves into a run down boarding house in order to get some peace and quite and finish his thesis. What he gets caught up in instead is a world of witches, curses, sex, and murder, (complete with human-faced rats) all in the corner of his little room.

This film proves, once again, that Lovecraft's work is for reading only. Some creepy things should stay in one's imagination.

Not bad eye candy, but story was awful.

Warning: Spoilers
The only thing that kept me watching this episode was the sexy bad boy performance of "Jak" by Jonathan Tucker. I was thoroughly impressed by his ability to show sensitivity through such a tough character. Tucker carried this whole film. Robert Englund is better off writing this character off as "what not to do in future film choices".

The budding love story (or fascination story) between the two main characters is the only good point of this story, the rest of it was just plain rushed and horrible. The director seemed to caught up in trying to shock us with what the world had become that the characters and the story itself were lost in translation. The only horror I felt by the end of watching this was how small Tucker's paycheck must have been for such a great performance.

Not too bad...

I must say I very much enjoyed this episode. Angus scrimm and Ethan Embry were both a delight in their roles. Though she seemed to struggle from time to time, the female lead was still able to hold her own, though in the future others may be hesitant to cast her as a lead. The scare factor was great and suspense was always there from start to finish. The director has an excellent talent of being unpredictable, which he executed with the greatest of ease. Just as you think everything is okay, WHAM! Something hits you again. The end of this film left me with my mouth hanging open, followed by a smile of delight. Wonderful start to the season.

Better Than One Would Expect, Actually
22 December 2006
Warning: Spoilers
I went to see this film at the discount theater just for something to do one day. I quickly realized my mistake...I waited too long to see it! I would have been even better in a better quality theater! The film is a remake of an old '70's film with the same plot: A upper-middle class family ends up in the poor house following the disaterous downfall of the breadwinner's employer. After trying to cope with poverty with comedic results that only Jim Carrey can convey properly, Dick and Jane are forced to steal the money they need to get their lives back in order, also often resulting in more comedic adventures. The film is slow in some parts, but the laughs are worth the wait. I find myself quoting this film often and chuckling to myself. Give it a try, You're guaranteed to laugh at least twice.

Ladyhawke Fan For Life!
6 December 2006
Warning: Spoilers
I really liked this film. It reminds me of a time when my imagination ruled me and I barely had one foot in reality most of my life. The main reason (for me, anyway) was that the film had minimal special effects, yet overflowed with fantasy and imagination at every turn. The line between fantasy and reality are blurred so well, you seem quite convinced that this could have happened to anyone...Two characters separated by night and day by the curse of a jealous bishop can only be saved by the most unlikely of events: a solar eclipse. But how do you convince each of something that science has not yet discovered? With the help of an old, wise (and sometimes drunk)friend, and the rebellious help of a young new one, of course! It's not even the fascinating story that keeps this film going--it's the actors. Each of these roles seem custom-built for them. They acted it very well. A film worth seeing again and again. I never get tired of it.

meh....
1 June 2006
I wasn't impressed with this film. The only 2 things that kept me watching and interested was the on again off again love story between 2 of the characters, and the special effects, which were pretty impressive for a TV-movie.

I got the impression this film was rushed, like someone had a grand idea for a film and placed writing and production in the hands of a relative that had dropped out of film school or something.

The character "Wolf" was most impressive, though overacted at times, he was funny, sweet, and identifiable in many ways. "Wolf's" actor seemed to be making the best of his part in the film, and, as a result came off as the only character that I really felt for.

The film is definitely worth a peek, if not for anything else but to see all the old-school fairy tales in a different light. It's not a complete waste of time, but make sure you don't pay to watch it, because you may regret it afterwords.

Makes a good 3-in-the-morning-late-night-snack-can't-sleep-film
11 April 2006
I saw this film right in the middle while going through a breakup. It was about 3 in the morning and I was battling insomnia with a quick snack. It wasn't too bad at the time, but every time I have tried to watch it since, I can't get into it like I did that night.

At the time I thought it was cute and I loved the variety of characters, though they totally could have done better than Goran V, in my opinion. But the one thing that kept me watching was Heather's character and her sad "commitment" to her husband who didn't want her anymore, which made me feel sorry for her and root for her at the same time. (Considering I was in a similar situation at the time, perhaps that's why I liked her so much.) Not a bad film, but you pretty much have to be somewhere near the character romantically in order to appreciate it, and let's hope you never are.
