Druk (2020)
The Three-dimensional core of Druk and views of freedom
Vintemberg's Druk reflects on practices of the self regarding the efforts and techniques against the weathering loop that life can turn to. These techniques, and, otherwise, methods or practises, constitute a certain form of liberation, which must not be mistaken with liberty, or, even more, with freedom. Vintemberg emphasizes the difficutly and perplexity of freedomness, while he captures the anti-social rawness of unprocessed liberation.
More specifically, the experiment conducted by the company of our middle-aged men is an attempt to reactivate social and working abilities, also abilities conserning marriage and fathering. Through an antithesis scheme, Vintemberg stresses that freedom may constitute a state of being, only if it is deeply bonded with other spheres of life. Druk develops on the significance of (i) marriage and fathering (ii) efficiency at work and (iii) a cycle of friends and collegues, as for in order to show that the wounded self/individuality can remend, as long as practises of the self are framed and, therefore, difended by these three, beyond individuality, dimensions of being.
Druk is about forgotten capabilities, slowly destructed, and the dangerous possibility of re-inventing them.
Reinvention is presented as a procedure that can easily lead to failure if it is to be a lonely one. That is what is extracted from Tomi's tragic end, in constrast to Martin's different conclusion.
Vinteberg calls as to reflect, alongside with himself, on contemporary means of freedom and the terrifying powers/factors that run against it.
Warrior (2011)
I fell into it
Minutes after watching this piece of art. And I feel like over- powered godlike human being.
What an inspiring movie! Oh, the pace! This tone makes us fall into the world of the 2 bros, who's life seems so much full of pain, loss, confusion and, above all, a kind of love that they couldn't express. The character of the Father is tragic and realistic. His attempts to rejoin his boys are truly pure and gets to the heart.
Acting is quite memorable, specially Hardy's. I've found his exceptional and natural.
The magic of the combination of characters, story, pace and music ends up with a creation of rare feelings shouting into your spiritual world and that's not something that every movie is able to manage.
Thank you for making this true, thank you for that awesome experience!
Detachment (2011)
This is about Courage
This film was beyond great. I firmly believe that not a known award is equal to the film's greatness.
These characters seemed to be made by the hardest stone. So deep, emotional and strong. I could see them from my screen and right away, I was able to feel them, to hear them in real life. Their pain, misery, the feeling of lack of security, their crying, their laugh...Got into my soul.
That's the main reason which the movie was made: to come into you. And it has succeeded as hell. It didn't show life at its best, neither life at its worst; only life as it is. We didn't see our characters actually heal, we didn't see them being truly happy. We saw their improvement, how the got an actual help.
Eventually, that's life. To finish your time helping yourself, helping others. this is the way to true happiness. And, as the movie says, for all of this you need courage, bravery, strong attitude. Letting down is sure easily than trying hard to be better. Yes, true. But that is something that gets you into spiritual trouble.
Thus, the main character was the key to give, not solutions to others problems, but to give them inspiration. There was a great accomplishment in that.
Camera was awesome, as so editing. The colors were as I best like them. Music fitted nice.
10/10. Detached gave me chills.
Paterson (2016)
What a movie!
Paterson is a movie with a great pace. Not a fast one, but a deep one. It seems like a movie which explains the way that magic can appear in the simplicity of the routine's life.
We see Paterson (Adam Drive) as a very quiet and standared character. He does not talk that much, just short sentences. Although, his eyes look like he is studying life and details of the moment. This spiritual exercise leads him to a very rare and important thing: discovering how every day, no matter how similar is to the last day, hides its very impressing secrets. Secrets which keep you inspired and mentally healthy.
His girlfriend is a person who really got me. She felt like a goddess, as her voice was relaxing me and traveled me in a more happy and charming place. She seemed so exotic and smart, made of art and the infinity of colours. She was smart and nice to Paterson, a person that everyone should want to have by his side. Creative and strange in a very charming way.
The human relationships are pretty realistic. That's why I felt I could watch this movie for a long time. Because, although it is fiction, seems like a realism that you won't want to leave away. Eventually, you may think that it is actually yourself in the mind palace of the movie.
The directing was pretty deep. Not the as good as it could be, but still absolutely interesting. I really liked the colours and the way the director managed to connect images and dialogues. In the end, the film feels like a complete puzzle which, in every piece of it, you can see something that really matters.
I also need to say about some very smart and interesting meaning that appear in "Paterson". Not gonna spoil them, it's an essential part of the film.
9/10!
Wonder Woman (2017)
That was definitely UNEXPECTED
Wonder Woman was a DC film which I believed, before the time I watched it, that it sucked. Yes, once again, I was mistaken.
The plot is not complicated but it remains interesting and attractive. There's a great twist too, something that fits perfectly and helps the movie to move to the very end. An end strong, violent and full of powerful feelings. There's action and passion.
Another very strong element of WW was the characters. Despite other superheroes films, this had a strong influence on you because of the characters. Wonder Woman is such a passionate and true character. Her style is magical and leads to addiction. She's kind and realistic, powerful and full of love and spiritual brilliance. So, welldone! You made a capable protagonist, who I can't wait to see again! Steve was also nice. He was pretty smart. Often, characters like him in other movies, have very poor lines and suck on dialogues. Steve's different. He's calm and allows the feeling to control him. This man is brave and loyal to WW.
The villain-ploTwist was amusing. He could be better but still, Ares, did not disappointed me. Strong and powerful as a God, was a perfect enemy for WW. He was cunning and not dull or empty in his inside world. Ares had his own way of being evil.
I want to mention that has nothing to do with the Greek mythology.
Gal Gadot..., was pure. She got into the role. She created a WW with upcoming promises. She is astonishing, marvelous and beautiful. Furious and angry. Good job!
Closing, in my opinion, WW is the best DC film after the trilogy of Batman. Also, for me always, it is as good as the Avengers but more mature and real!
Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales (2017)
Prepared for a disappointment. got one.
POTC 5, is not as bad as critics say. It has its good moments and its pretty bad.
there was a very amusing and quick first part. Jack has a few nice lines and meeting him after 6 years is refreshing. Still, he seems a little bored of his role, something that, I believe, it's a script's mistake.
gradually the plot is evolving, and there the downfall begins. the story seems too simple, kind of stupid. Too childish. There's a lack of dark atmosphere that existed in the previews movie (exception: 4). That kind of trident, was a destruction weapon for the plot. The moment they break the Trident, there's a collapse of everything that this franchise has built over the years. I mean, WHAT? the thing about Pirates is the connection with piracy, the British empire and abnormal phenomenons, like curses, magic and places forbidden. so, now all of this beautiful stuff is gone.
as for the characters, we get a "weak" jackie. the new girl seems boring and quite useless, except for being the guide to their journey. The kid Turner is not much of his father. there's no development on him and looks so...empty. Salazar had kind of perspective but still, he proved to be just angry and dull. Yes, a catchy accent doesn't make a villain.
I wont event comment the part where Bill Turnet meets his wife...that was ridiculous and too good to be true. I mean, we had prepared our selves about them! we were sure that they were not gonna meet ever again...Though the script has to be fulfilled with something...
So, compared to the first three movie this could get a 3/10. But indepentend to them gets a 6 for me. Because I am a fan, I choose the second option.
Its sad, that is crearly a very TIRED franchise.
I strongly believe, though, that it must not end like this. POTC need a last STRONG, huge, and epic movie.
Moonlight (2016)
A story which gives thrills and powerful, true emotions!
Minute by minute "Moonlight", achieved to enter my soul into the burning world of the main character, Chiron. I could feel his pain and his everyday problems which were torturing his thoughts. Despite I have nothing to do with his way of life, that movie got me into him with the best and deepest way.
Chiron's feelings and thoughts, are so powerful and TRUE, that he didn't even had to talk. With very brief dialogues (and many times without a certain dialogue),he managed to express himself only with his eyes and body language. His eyes were screaming but his voice was soft and calm.
"Moonlight" presented how hard can life be when poverty exists. Also, being different as a child can mean a brutal childhood like Chiron's who suffered not only from the bullies but from his own self too. He had nothing and that is why he couldn't find who he is.
With a very authentinc image of black communities, the movie tells the story of a sensitive child, teenager and young adult, not certainly a gay person. He suffered an Odessey of self-discover.
Finally, the only thing that saved him was his honesty about who he truly is. I believe that's the thing in life...Welldone for the great acting, scenario and music. That movie inspired me and showed me a very tough life but same time TRUE. See ya again at the Oscars.
Captain Fantastic (2016)
A film which really inspired me
Watching "Captain Fantastic" was an unforgettable experience. Honestly, I would love feeling the same feels again and again, like it is the first time meeting these characters.
Behind every word, move or eye contact, I can see a whole world appearing. There are true meanings, deep and well-perfomanced.
There is a constant flue, something that makes a 2hour movie seem like a brief, but still happy moment of life. I believe that the relationships actually never stopped developing or changing, a situation that kept me at the edge of my seat.
Acting was pure and honest, something that made me feel close to the characters and their special inside worlds.
It is proved in the movie, that everyone can choose his way of living only by the time he/she is prepared for the consequences. That's because our lives have became very similar to each other and the way of living too simple and unhealthy, both for the body and soul.
it is our duty to step away from the today's hell and create something different, something that is worth of even making a movie for it. We need to escape, we need to establish our own way of living...because behind that, there is hidden a whole philosophy of self-expression.
this movie opened my eyes, my soul and since then I tend to be honest with my self.
