Joker (2019)
One word definition: Pathetic
I am extremely glad that I didn't watch this movie when it first came out in the theaters. It would have been a waste of money as well as time and energy. It took a lot out of me to watch this movie in 2021. I wanted to know what the hype was about and as I suspected, it was as depressing and pathetic as it was advertised. I did not fail my premonitions because it made me feel depressed along the way. I did not need that. I understand the reasons and the x's & the y's of the plot and character. However I was neither amused, entertained or brought to tears of sadness neigh joy. It was pure confusion of depression and an advertisement of pathetically mentally ill, alone in the world type of "man", Joker. He isn't even a punchline in his own non-humorous jokes. His life and his very own existence is utterly uninteresting and dull.
I hardly ever think Joaquin Phoenix was acting but rather playing his very own psyche and dark mind into play. This makes it even more ironically SAD.
The Greatest Showman (2017)
I WAS ALSO A SKEPTIC LIKE U BUT MOVIE DELIVERED
I think I just watched one of the best movies of our generation! I was super eery about watching this movie bc it was talked about like forever and it took me 4 years to come around to watch it for the first time ever. And I think it was the best decision that I have waited until I felt ready. It warmed up my heart in the sweetest way. Yes there could have been some adjustments to the script here and there, and it needs some character development for the characters to get a more in depth view into their lives but after all it is the "SHOWMAN's" MOVIE. So I highly recommend it.
Dynasty: Guilt Trip to Alaska (2019)
STOP CHANGING THE ACTRESSES!!! THIRD TIME ISN'T THE CHARM
Why every season there is a different Latina actress playing the same role in the same show? I once watched a video, different Latina actresses saying "We don't look alike. We have names." Then why the hell Netflix is doing this to us??
Secret Obsession (2019)
CRINGE SHOW
It was so horrible. Cringey asf. The acting is terrible. The script is just aghhh. Horrible detective skills. Horrible survival instincts by the victim. There is literally no to little talk by the serial killer.
Stranger Things: Chapter Eight: The Battle of Starcourt (2019)
I do not like this season.
The only thing that I actually enjoyed was the relationship of Dustin and Suzie which should have had more screen time (BTW!!!!!), the relationship between Alexei and that Russian translator guy(bromance at its best. Alexei was such a great actor!), the brief hopping moment they gave us the beginning of the season which was between Mike's mom and Billy(first scene by the pool which gave us a glimpse of the first and second season aura!), Erica was a total bomb(!), i mean she slayed her character and it felt like every single character watched her do her thing(!!!), it was so amusing to watch her(tbh). So we can say that supporting characters ONLY brought the house DOWN!! Suzie-Mike's mom-Erica-Alexei!!! There were not enough GOOD-INTELLIGENT conversation between main characters! There were mostly gibberish, yelling, laughing, staring, singing, making fat noises and stuff. It felt like they were filming a moment where they are children in real life(aka for my opinion, they should act more grown up and make us feel they are on our level rather than make me feel dumb for staring at the tv waiting for something to happen or surprise me. You feel me?). Like it felt like a documentary on children's life in reality, it was supposed to feel like out of the ordinary, inviting, extraordinary and so much more! We didn't get the feel of being in a Fourth of July carnival(we were too busy being anxious about the Russians or the liquid flesh monster getting to the children or the arguing "couple". It was boring and we shouldn't be always anxious when watching a thriller with human villians as much! I didn't feel anxious with the monster tbh. It didn't scare me or made me feel all disgusted. It was just unoriginal, blend, boring and uneventful.) I realized that the filmmakers likes to put us in a mood where we cannot simply get out from due to the plot and ongoing pursuing. I think it's because they don't want us to feel anything for the background, location or extras. Its edited so back to back that its hard to process your current emotions about a scene where i find hard to relax and enjoy this entire season. There were good casting for the newcomers but as far as the main actors' acting? Not that much. At least what i can assume is that the directors, producers or/and writers don't allow the actors/actresses to act the way they would like to due to the high expectations and costs. Or they have become terrible at directing, writing, producing and creating original, raw materials. This, my friends, AIN'T A MASTERPIECE.
Black Summer (2019)
umm. No. It isn't worth your while.
I know quite a lot of cinematography and I can clearly tell you that this is a hot mess that has been created by a bunch amateur Canadian crew which is nothing but a silent zombie tv series. There is little to no dialogue and it contains 90% of swearing, yelling, arguing and pretty basic conversations. I am currently watching episode 5 at the moment and I am not happy about this show. Only continuing to watch because I am interested in to see how these basic scriptwriters are going to end the show. But definitely there are no hopes for this show. It is boring, redundant, slow and boring. The zombies are too unrealistic even. If this was a spin off from Z Nation, the zombies wouldn't be this strong, clever, sharp and fast.
