22 years ago this Amazing show was Born
2 March 2024
Warning: Spoilers
I saw this when it was born on prime time traditional television. Thank you Streaming technology for making it available for a welcome re-visit.

By far one of THE best Series' ( a reminder of Hill Street Blues with the Fire Dept addition) I have felt priviledged to enjoy.

Well developed , well written and executed stories and characters with important and topical relationship, family, work and psychological themes including 9-11 and the fallout of that horrendous day with insightful and painful video interviews with surviving Fire, Rescue and Police.

Many actors have gone on to have stellar careers and are now at the pinnacle of their careers.

Animal cruelty
15 February 2024
Warning: Spoilers
Do not bother. Any movie with animal cruelty gets less than 1 star in my book. They only show him throwing a large stick at a poor chained up dog in a neighbor's front yard.

The main teenage male character is a cruel self involved , violent bully without a conscience. He always seems to be looking for trouble and hence drags everyone else with him through typical teenage intimidation.

Then he has a serious car accident , runs away before trying to help the other seriously injured boys and has his own head injury. A pal dies in the accident, he lies and claims no knowledge of it and the tide finally turns in his violent life.

His Mother is done with him , packs his bag, puts him in the car and takes him to the plane as his Father has now agreed to take him on in Wyoming.

Here his new life starts. Will he change?

I wasn't sure if I liked it, but honestly, I LOVED it.
23 August 2023
Warning: Spoilers
I am not familiar with this segment of the population as a straight woman, so went into this not knowing how I would feel but was open to the experience.

I thought it would be "different" from heterosexual relationships, but it's NOT, it's just the same. Women loving each other was so beautiful to me, and the challenges they faced is just the same as any other Love relationship/potential marriage/situation.

I found the issues, concerns, potential and real "cheating" scenarios, and experiencing/seeing a really true " narcissist " up close and personal, was very interesting. I have attracted many of those types in my life, unfortunately.

Bottom line, Love truly is Love Gay, straight, non-binary, trans, whatever you want to call it. It doesn't matter how you "name it", it's real, honestly displayed, and even though this is a "reality show", I felt like almost every participant (EXCEPT ONE WOMAN) went in with honest and true intentions to figure out their relationship in an authentic way.

I learned quite a bit about myself being in the "viewing" experience and feeling the pain, heartbreak, joy and connection with every experience displayed by real women struggling with intimacy and choosing their own needs, some for the first. Time.

Why the low reviews? I LOVED it!
4 July 2023
Warning: Spoilers
The time has come for women to ask for what type of ".pleasure" they want!

The heroine of our story loses her job and with a boring self-involved attorney husband not paying much attention to her for years, she has an idea.

While picking up some documents just before being laid off, she meets some unique handymen at a struggling company just about to go under.

She hires one handsome guy ( who was a birthday surprise for her) to clean a woman's home that she swims with and he ends up cleaning for 5 minutes and then they end up in the bedroom for a "root". ( aus slang for sex)

Maybe this could be a business a focus on cleaning and an option for more. A fun look into mores, relationships, sex, pleasure and more.

A Uk based coming of age story and way way beyond
26 June 2023
Warning: Spoilers
A Mother is killed by an auto and the Father disappears from society with his infant son never to be seen for 18 years, hidden from society to avoid " monsters" outside their front door. A simple yet dynamic look at the messages of life and their meaning in snd out of context.

We aren't sure if his Father kills for food or something else more sinister, nor are we sure he will survive past 18 when he finally gets a glimpse of what really exists outside the Front Door.

Worth your 8 episode time to see inside Danny's "suspended in time" minds-eye-view of reality or if he can even adapt to what we call LIFE?

Unique Meryl Streep In a Band with Rick Springfield
19 May 2023
Warning: Spoilers
Ricki ( Streep) left her family and young kids to follow her rock star dream ,never realized , with stardom. Her ex husband ( Kevin Kline) and his new wife ( Audra McDonald in a very small part)raised the children and created stability. Alot of animosity ensues when Ricki finally returns to see her daughter after many years. Her guitar player ( Native Australian Rick Springfield) is holding a long term torch but Ricki has so much unfinished emotional business she cannot see it. Some good music by both and Streep does well in this highly unique role in her long term career of award winning performances.

Brilliant Topical and Musical
1 May 2023
Warning: Spoilers
Alex is beyond brilliant ( from MadTV and Mrs Maisel) and her Standup is infused with her parents in the audience and 2 Ukulele musicians she met on her Divorce Holiday in Spain, add lightness and fun ( and who knew she could sing too?) to her compilation of stories, passion, and ribald blue comedy. I thoroughly enjoyed every moment and wish it were even longer. Her authenticity, generous perspective about Women , her anecdotes on her 20 year marriage and two kids, her dating stories, and her authenticity all make this worth your time. She sees our world with a great sense of humor and for me she goes to the top of my list of triple threats. Shes a STAR.

A beautiful movie with a tough subject: Grief
18 April 2023
Warning: Spoilers
A beautiful woman from the City moves to the woods, living off the grid completely, alone in desolate wild Wyoming after an extreme family tragedy.

She faces extreme weather living in a tiny shack with no running water completely off the grid. . Directed and starring Robin Wright, in her directorial debut, the lessons are profound about extreme Mother Earth and what it takes to move on and live again.

As she runs out of food after a Bear destroys her shack, barely hanging on at the brink of death, human angels intervene and bring her back for another chance at living. Hesitant and reluctant for any human contact, her new friend reaches out with a compassionate lifeline and a choice for her to make.

Energy Medicine, Spirituality and alot of action
24 March 2023
Warning: Spoilers
Based on the Celestine book series by a gifted writer, I am confused by the low ratings.

A gift For the spiritually focused audience , this is a truly great movie and the first movie in my memory focused on vibrations , intuition and Spirituality.

A prophecy of adventure including synchronicity, connections , the light and dark of the human experience, the criminality associated with ancient secrets, personal introspection and a deep look at the science of inner knowing. It helped me see the world in a different way and changed my life in a truly profound way.

I am very grateful to the writer that I know in my heart shared this book fr the evolution of us all.

Definitely NOT a comedy
11 March 2023
Warning: Spoilers
Well, for what its worth in my opinion truly misclassified as a comedy. That being said, Great acting with a sexist ( Dad) and highly relevant storyline.

A therapist's (played by the fabulous Kerry Washington) Father get released from prison saying "I am never going back" which could mean many things. We watch him trying to find work as a felon and meets/bonds with his 16 y/o grandson for the first time.

She is an intelligent and bi-racial with a soft spot for emotionally unavailable white men who do not value her. Her Dad shares with her that she deserves more at the risk of future relationship bonding.

We witness racism of the worst kind in Alabama when he tries to get a copy of his well deserved birth certificate and the unfortunate tension between the races that some of us witness regularly at the expense of remembering we are all connected.

Worth watching.

Dog Gone (2023)

Based on a true story but did not need to happen
17 January 2023
Warning: Spoilers
The relationship between Gonker and his irresponsible, uninformed human is a love beautiful to see. Unfortunately for Gonker letting a dog off leash in the woods with a strong prey drive and no strong recall response is a horrible and tragic thing to do. His parents thinking a shock collar is a responsible choice instead of positive dog training is horrible and stupidity at its worst. Making a movie like this sends the wrong message to dog parents. I get its a true story with a happy ending BUT There should have been a clear message at the end of the movie saying "We do not advocate this uninformed treatment of any canine. Please find a good canine trainer to avoid losing your treasured fur member of your family and traumatizing your lost dog having to fend for themselves and barely surviving in the human world."

Shame on you for portraying animal abuse
2 October 2022
Warning: Spoilers
A affluent man moves into a beautiful highrise building with owners/tenants categorized by wealth or lack thereof. Beautiful people all with their own afflictions party for days while affirming their own set of morality or disfunction.

I was kind of enjoying this quirky film until one male character hit a beautiful white german shepherd with a golf club. How did this film get made ??????????

I am in disgusted and dismayed at the writers/directors/producers and actors who took money to appear in this disgusting film. I will be boycotting all films by everyone involved and encourage others to do the same. Please join me in banning all films that show animal abuse of any kind.

An Unusual DeNiro GEM
12 November 2021
Warning: Spoilers
This is a super enjoyable movie, not sure why it has low ratings.. An unusual role for DeNiro, as a standup comedian, and is quite funny in his character's "Don't "F" with me waning aging career. Harvey Keitel, his pal in real life, plays a self absorbed wealthy Floridian that owns a retirement community and browbeats his daughter on a regular basis to control her life. DeNiro gets community service for an agressive interaction with a fan during his standup routine one nite and meets Keitel's daughter at the Soup Kitchen. She is there doing community service and begrudgingly goes on a date with him and ends up pregnant. Heart warming, funny, with very blue humor, and completely enjoyable.

I love this reality show with UK Celebs
25 October 2021
Warning: Spoilers
I really enjoyed this UK celebrity dating show. It's very real, unlike what it would be on television in the United States, and I love that. Seeing the UK culture, the various UK locations (love that) and the fact that their television reality show is allowed to use words and discussions that are NOT allowed on television here. The celebs were endearing, funny, inventive, and the psychologists that are helping them, (one from the USA) are actually very helpful in coming to terms with their own issues of why they haven't found long lasting love in the past. Super educational actually on many levels.

I fell in love with this wonderful family with three small children. Filmed in 2018/2019 it shows the ups and downs of a super talented Country boy from New Orleans in Los Angeles, adjusting to being an independent music artist while supporting his lovely and courageous wife while she struggles with chemo and getting well with an amazingly positive attitude.

His Father is his biggest supporter, called Paw-Paw, who travels from the South to support his son's musical career!
