Boring
22 March 2024
The cash cow is officially dry! After the walking dead became hard work and difficult to actually finish, I was hoping Andrew Lincoln could bring back a bit of magic to the series but it's just more of the same tripe spewed out for the last few years. Personally, I think it's Scott gimble who's the problem. Since he became executive producer, the show went downhill, this is just more of the same. Managed to get through the first episode and half the second before turning it off...same **** different day. As I said, the cash cow is dry, dead and buried, it's time to put it to bed once and for all and call it a day.

Black Adam (2022)

I enjoyed it
27 December 2022
I thought it was quite a good movie. It's not the greatest superhero movie (fyi infinity war) out there but it's a good attempt. It's fast paced with a decent storyline, which is what you are looking for. Quite possibly the second best dc movie after dark night and on par with a lot of marvel.

Black Adam, Kent and hawk man were solid characters but atom and cyclone were a waste of time and only filled up a bit of space which didn't really need to be filled. Hopefully with the cameo from superman at the end, sets this up for a sequel away from Wonder Woman, Aquaman and Batman or the justice league.

Just edited my stars

Warning: Spoilers
I first rated this show a 10, it was awesome, really enjoyable and entertaining....for the first 5 seasons or so. Then it started going downhill.

I've only got a few episodes to watch till it's finished and I'm finding it really hard. The show is total trash now, seems to be written by kids. The characters have learned nothing in the last 10 years and still get snuck up on in the middle of an open field, even though the zombies walk at 1/2mph. Come on, that's just lazy writing after 11 seasons but then again, the writers are so bad, they probably can't come up with anything original. If I was you, watch until negan kills glen, then just assume everyone died, it's better than the writers came up with.

Could even finish the first episode
30 October 2022
I've just finished the audio book, which was fantastic so I decided to give the tv series a go.

Big Mistake! I know that they always change things for tv but this didn't even seem like the same story. The only things that seem to the same as the book are the characters names. Important parts left out, rubbish added in for no reason. The timeline is all over the place, hell, it's not even set in the correct year. By the end of episode 1, there was nothing similar to the book.

You might enjoy this show if you come in to it blind but if you've read/listened to to original, this is absolutely terrible.

Do yourself a favour, enjoy the book and stay well away from this.

Big disappointment
15 May 2022
I understand that when remaking a programme or re-adaption of a book (especially so many years later) that somethings or characters will change with the times but why oh why did the writers think they could do a better job than King? There's a reason it's one of his most loved books that topped countless best sellers charts.

There's major parts of the story that have been removed only to be filled with rubbish that didn't happen. Just about every character is forgettable and unlikable.

The timeline jumping backwards and forwards is just ridiculous and distracts from the story.

I was really hoping that this was going to be an updated version of the '94 miniseries but instead it's a "new" programme stealing the overall story from from a better source.

I've read the book, seen the '94 version and just finished the audio book but 4 episodes in and I don't think I can take anymore of this version, in fact, I've just ordered the '94 on dvd to watch instead.

Disappointing
8 August 2020
Just watched the 3h final cut. First time I've seen this "classic" I've got to say, I really enjoyed the first 2 hours but the last 1 hour got slow and boring. From the french plantation to the end was really hard work not to turn it off and the last 20-30 minutes was disappointing. 6/10

Keeps on getting worse
3 March 2020
Every week I tune in hoping that TWD will eventually find its way again but alas, it just gets worse and worse. I'm sure the writers have all been replaced with students because it now feels so amateur.

Game of Thrones: The Long Night (2019)
Season 8, Episode 3

Got to be one of the best episodes
30 April 2019
Warning: Spoilers
Got to be up there in the top three episodes of the series. Yes, it was a bit too dark which spoilt it a little (adjust the settings on your tv and it's perfectly fine) but other than that, it was awesome. People are stupidly complaining about the Dothraki being sent to death, but for me, it spelt out the impending doom as each flaming sword was extinguished within 30 seconds......remember, "only a fool would face the Dothraki in the open field" I think Jamie said. Arya being the one to kill the Night King was perfect. She was the last person i was thinking about as she appeared out of the gloom over his shoulder. Nobody else could have been capable of finishing him and anything else would have been stupid considering their army of about 50,000 had just been easily slaughtered.

Really disappointing
27 April 2019
Warning: Spoilers
After how awesome Infinity War was, I was expecting so much more from Endgame, but maybe that's my fault. I'll not list all the faults as most people have covered them in their reviews (and they are all correct). 3 hours of movie and only about 15 minutes of that is action. Strangest thing is Thanos' strength and power.......seems to match whoever he is fighting at the time, whether with or without infinity stones, 1 opponent or 5, it just doesn't make sense and don't get me started on timelines or Captain Marvel!!

Finally it's back
3 February 2019
It's taken 5 episodes but finally The Orville is back. All the jokes and fun that was missing this series were all packed into this episode. Let's just hope the rest of the season continues like this!

Bancroft (2017–2020)
Average
14 December 2017
This programme is average at best. Episode 1 was absolutely terrible. The writing was awful, the script was abysmal and was factually inaccurate. Episode 2 was a lot better and showed some real potential but 3&4 went downhill fast.

I would give it a miss if I was you and watch happy valley or line of duty instead.

Goes down hill from season 1
16 August 2017
Season 1 was fantastic, plot twists that had you guessing all the time. Season 2 was terrible, the court case was shambolic, the other story was idiotic and the whole thing was a mess! Then there was season 3, which made me write first review ever! If I hadn't invested so much time in it so far, I'd turn it off! Utter sexist, feminist crap. EVERY male character (except hardy) is portrayed as a sexual predator at every turn. At one point hardy says "I feel ashamed to be a man".....well so do I, as this drivel was actually written by a fellow man. Every man in this season displays the stereotypical behavior that feminists want you to believe men think. If it wasn't for season 1, I'd give it 1star
