The Best Man: The Final Chapters (2022)
Did not know I needed this, and then it happened.
I have been a fan of the franchise all along, the actors have been superb, the storylines fantastic, and then this! I did not know it was coming, and came across it randomly, and I have binged it all. It is like getting a whole other set of movies but overlapping each other in a way that is not only complete but has me begging for more. I do not care what you come up with, but make this happen again, please.
There are still stories that can be told, dynamics that can be played out, and so much more, I am loving what this series has given us, I am hopeful that there will be a continuation because of adoration, but thank you for the gift it has been, even if it stops here.
Julia (2022)
Ten Michelin Stars
I have watched the movies, thought I knew all there was to really know...boy was I wrong. This series is a must watch for anyone with a pulse. The relationships, the progress made in a time that usually did not allow for a lot of that, everything about this show is Plus Sized, and getting David Hyde Pierce and Bebe Neuwirth back together in anything was a stroke of casting genius. I am relieved there is a series 2 coming, but I hope there is enough for many more years of this fantastic showcase.
Senior Year (2022)
Easy watching
I think you have to be the age where a movie that combines most of the 90s teen flicks together to make one, is something you have time for. If I was a teen it would not be my dream movie, if I was even mid to late twenties not even, but older and wiser than that, sure. It was awkward and lesson learned, which is what it was meant to be, but a nod of the head knowing we know that, rather than an epiphany.
I didn't hate it, didn't love love it either, but it was good for what it was, and I do not regret watching it straight out of the gate on hitting Netflix.
Bel-Air (2022)
Not your 90's Nostalgia
As a fan of the show, it was an easy leap to wanting to watch this new take, the trailer looked promising and the show itself has not failed to deliver. This is like a 'where are they now' concept wrapped in a 'how they would be now' ideal. Everyone is fitting into their characters very well, with their own unique spin, Hilary would be what she is, Jazz would be how he is, and so on. Carlton is hard to watch but that is because he is dealing with real things in a way never shown before and would actually now explain how he was in the original if we had ever cared to look under the hood. My only complaint and not really a spoiler except that they spoiled something I loved lol, they show Uncle Phil playing pool, and one of the best ever episodes of the original was him showing Will that he was not the stiff shirt that Will thought he was by kicking some pool sharks bottom.
Marry Me (2022)
It was everything a J-Lo movie can be with some Wilson Charm
I wish she did more films, every single things she has ever done has been a delight to watch in a romantic way, I still see her in my head every time I eat M&Ms. It was a charming film, the music was great, I think Church was such a fun song. The good influence he had on both her and his 'kids' was wonderful, it was a lovely rom/com.
MacGyver (2016)
Team MacGyver not a Solo Artist
I was a fan of the original, as most are who have reviewed, and the other day I was able to watch the original pilot. The original was a one man show, sure he got tasked with a job, but it was very much him against whatever was going on...this new version is a team of highly trained people that have skills that they bring to the table and MacGyver is not completely relied upon to get it right, he often does, he is often the one getting them out of things, but he is not the solo artist that the original was, and I like that very much. He has quirks, failings and has a past that is checkered to say the least, and going along for the ride season to season gets you learning more and more not only about him, but the team overall and each team member has a great story arc. I think they did a great job, because in 2021 who would really believe the ease in which the original did everything, in this one you actually tend to learn some things along the way which I think is nice too.
Rebel (2021)
Loved it
I did not even realise until coming here that it was based on Erin. I like that we now get to see the children all grown up, as they struggled so much earlier on, which was apparent in the movie (not sure how much of that is true) but it really now makes me look back at the episode and really get the upset with the kids. All the characters were great, done well and the actors who portrayed them were spot on.
I look forward to more episodes and to see how the children come together in force to help Rebel do what she wants to do best.
Not someone who has any real info on the real Erin, to know why people seem so anti her in the reviews, we only had the movie down here, and not too much after that, so I am enjoying it for the cast and storylines, not some pro real life personality that I know not a lot about, other than she has done good things in the past that made people notice.
