You've been Netflixed...
9 March 2023
The first season was fairly acceptable, even a tiny bit refreshing from the rest of the content that we are sadly exposed to, nowadays.

Then the season 2 came into its sorry existence. First episode was more than enough to know that this is where it all ends. Netflix happened to it.... What a pity. It was actually promising, especially considering the imaginative source material, and you could even excuse some cheesy, unnecessary details.

Well, I guess it's about time to move to something from previous decades, or to something non-american...

Sorry people, we are just in the wrong time. Always.

Go read "Stranger in a strange land"
7 August 2022
It is hard to state everything that is wrong about this movie without mentioning and analyzing basically every second of it... Because pretty much every second is very strong. Literally the least unrealistic sequence of it was the child being born and raised on Mars (but not the circumstances that led to it, because if you know even a tiny bit about rigorousness of pre space flight check ups...). Or having a girl able to fly a plane, hack the computers... And her dream is to strangle cats (or as they say it nowadays: become a pop singer).

So there are two things to feel very sorry about here: for wasting 2 hours of life and for injustice made to Gary Oldman by stuffing him into this intellectual offense.

I really do not understand in which works do these producers live (because I somehow cannot believe that writers and directors can be so empty headed), but the earth is not the answer. Probably not Mars as well. Though, thanks to them our world and humans inhabiting it are indeed steadily becoming the way they are being portraited in these things...

So, to sum up, do yourself a favor and grab a a masterpiece "Stranger in a strange land" to read (or listen). You will be intellectually reacher and you will thank me for it.

Supposed to be an awesome series...

... And it would be had it not been infected by Netflix...

I just wonder whether they will ever stop imposing intellectual degradation on the humans of the world, that are anyway already on the intellectual bottom, and start just being humans.

Please, cure the world of Netflix (and similar) plagues...

No

Why, again why?

You take a very important part of video/Computer games history, make an episode "about it" and then just almost completely neglect it in order to shove human stupidity into people's faces.

I am just imagining those empty heads in suits sitting and drooling about at which point to shove agenda into it. Doesn't have to matter, doesn't have to make sense, nothing, just shove it in.

So, those interested in RPG part of history, sorry... You may get some by skipping good part of nonsense in this episode, but it's nevertheless disappointing.

(Previous one also shoved another piece of agenda that almost had no place, but it was a bit less intrusive)

First season

Rating goes for the first season. It was quite nicely done, was even following the book almost properly (until some point but still could pass), with some hickups of course, but basically it's satisfactory.

I have no intention whatsoever to watch the second season, of course, as I am not the empty target for someone's mindless political agendas.

Waste of a perfectly good theme!
22 January 2022
What on Earth!?

You take a beautiful theme as riverdance and Ireland and would expect to be made with some heart and warmth and fun... But this... We were suffering every second of it... I cannot even explain how wrong was every single moment in how many various ways and how offensive that is. Not even having riverdance music could make up for it. Barely managed to half of it, and had to give up, or go mad... Now I have the need to watch Brave or whatever to wash this filth out my brain.

Do not, I repeat, do not waste your time if you have even one brain cell tingling in your head. It will hurt.

Simply Respekt!

I haven't had such a good laugh in ages...

This movie is tightly packed with so many subtle and ingenious remarks (both on visual and conversational level) that it really delivers full package of enjoyment, even in spite of nothing special plot, that my wife and me wanted to rewatch it the same instant we finished it (actually I already wanted to do it while on half). And it should be rewatched cause you can miss stuff due to aforementioned tight package.

It's awesome for grown ups, but of course the children would enjoy the colorful part.

I watched it 10 years after it's release... It was easy to miss it, and even when you see a trailer or some insert from the movie is truly unatractive... But as it happens with many actually good movies, it delivers much more than it's marketing.

Yet another intellectual insult...
27 November 2021
Don't know what to say... Or where to start. I was hoping for this storry to come to life for many a years now... And yet, now that someone dared to defile it I cannot pass even further than a trailer...

When will these sorry creatures realize that current financial and political agenda (which includes all the most modern racial, genderial and whatever movement brings money to some individuals at the moment) can only sodomize a fine source material leaving a deep and unhealable scar... And all that for the sake of stupidity. We have only one short life; why is such a small group so keen to make it miserable for the rest of the world?! Please! Let us be, and don't impose the stupidity! At least not with this kind of material that was originally aimed at the people with at least some level of intelligence.

Never was there more of a production, never had the best books been taken in such an abundance to be brought to the screen... And never were they so offensively butchered.

Do not "correct" a good source material by intellectually degrading it and offending it's audience! If you are not able to comprehend it, then go and make your own political statements in your own "books" and then make them into whatever series you will. That is, at least, easy for everyone to do at this era.

But stop doing this sacrilege. New generations will get completely wrong impression... And in few years when the focus of the primordial group of money gatherers changes it's focus to another agenda, caring not about the "race" and "gender" and what not current money bringer, these books and stories will still remain (hopefully they will, if some "Fahrenheit" or religion don't reach them first, which is not excluded the way world is going), but these kind of unworthy offsprings will stay as a mud and a slime over their covers, preventing new generations from opening them...

Therefore... Stop. If you take someone's exceptional work, be respectful and do it (him, them) am honor.

The worst episode by far
26 May 2021
Warning: Spoilers
I love this series. And, as always photography, camera, angles, acting, everything is awesome... Except one thing... Which made me give this rating... And that is writing/plot. It is profoundly dumb. I was just waiting for the moment there in the river, hoping they won't do it again. But they did it. And it was too much and too meaningless, despite the characters and their features. It is literally like they had no clue how to fill these 50 minutes and to conclude (for at least two seasons meaningless) rivalry so they just stretched it to the painful end. Of course, being so profoundly dumb, there will always be individuals claiming that it's art, by default, when encountering something meaningless, but it's not, it was a clueless endeavor.

Anyway, kudos for craftmanship again, but it hurt.

Oh my...

Well that was bad :)

And after so many decades, and after so many billions of Chinese people... They still don't take Chinese to play Chinese. Well, at least it's not an American with they eyeliner, cause Chinese don't look enough like Chinese.

Iko is great fighter. But bad actor, so he should keep the mouth shut (Raid... Proof).

Anyway, I'll probably watch it till the end cause apparently I love to waste my time, and I like MA sequences, but it truly could've been better. It's in the intellectual level of Power rangers.

Save yourself a time... Do not waste it on this

Plain and short phrase is to describe this movie: Holly crap, what a horrible movie!!

Gave slightly higher rating solely for the effects and photography.
