Unless you are easily scared, this movie just drags on
9 August 2014
Warning: Spoilers
In my honest opinion, this movie was a complete waste of my time. First, it drags on and on. This is the type of movie that builds itself slowly, but it just builds too too slowly to the point where every part that is suppose to be 'scary' is only slightly riveting. Nothing pops at you, even if it is unexpected. Furthermore, there are parts of the story, which are meant to be scary, that just don't make sense; so what hits you as unfolding, just fades away. I don't even know what was going on in the movie, but not for a lack of paying attention. But because the insinuations bounced around. There was a part (don't worry, it's no spoiler), where the music was building and building, and I thought, "uh oh, here comes something", but nope. In conclusion, this movie is not scary.

Boringest Movie Ever
13 April 2012
Let me tell you something, I should have read reviews first and prepared myself. I am going to prepare you because it is important that you know this. This movie has about 40 minutes of should-be deleted scenes. I don't know what the purpose was for half of this movie. The part of the movie that actually does have acting in it, it's good as far as the production quality, camera handling, and acting skills. But the plot (smh) weak, and pointless. I only watched the whole thing because I have a lot of patience with movies. For example, neither of the Space Odyssey bored me, even through the long scenes of focusing on the black monolith with songs of screaming people. Anyway, 'Tree of Life' bored the heck out of me. Make sure you are in thee mood for a movie that tests your attention, and you must be wide awake for this one, because you will be just starring almost half the dang'on movie.

Descent, but not a must see
16 April 2011
not too too bad, however, not that impressive. In my opinion, there were several areas where this movie fell short. First, it took way too long to become interesting. I understand provoking viewers to use their imagination, but $h!t, show me what's happening in this action movie already. And I still don't completely understand why these light things came to earth anyway. I have an idea, but I don't know if they plan to leave soon, stay, or just take care of immediate business. And the ending was horrible. In the same fashion as it seems most movies, this movie ended with the possibility of a sequel. Not all movies have the potential for a sequel. And this movie in particular definitely doesn't have that potential. When they previewed this movie, those initial viewers should have told the director to either make the movie a little more intriguing, or end the movie in a definite manner. (You can always find some way to work a sequel if you want). Now, for the good, I thought the acting was descent, definitely above average, and the special effects were good to go. I also enjoyed the 'diggies' assistance rendered, even though to no avail. Sound good and video good. Is it worth watching? Well, I would watch many movies before this, but I've seen a lot of worst movies than this one. So, let my ranking be the judge I guess, but this isn't a must see like I first thought it would be, and you won't miss any water-cooler discussion by watching something else.

Definitely not smartly written, but good fighting scenes
26 March 2011
Well, I thought the movie was alright. The storyline wasn't that smart in my opinion, as it seemed pretty simple, and not deeply thought through. Also, sometimes when the music was played, it gave the movie a sense of simpleness too. Seemed kind of corny for a serious martial arts film. The acting was good and convincing I thought, but some of the lines were kind of obvious. During several scenes, the lines sounded as if the movie was meant to be intelligent and teach some deep meaningful message, however, it was simple explanations for tactics when fighting, and it was far too little. The only thing that kept me from rating this movie as significantly below-average was the fighting scenes. A couple of them were some of the best scenes that I've seen in over 100 Asian martial arts movies. And I thought there were many scenes that could have been deleted.

Funnier, Smarter, American version of MXC
24 March 2011
This show is TOO funny. first, if you haven't watched it, you got to, you will be hooked like a fish. i don't crack up a many shows, but this show right here, yes. I was rolling. I'm talking about my cheeks and abs were hurting like 15 minutes into the show. My wife was rolling too, and my son almost hit a back flip because of the ridiculousness these people go through. The two commentators are a good addition to the show. The female is just a pretty face with smart remarks, but she's a kind of funny. This show is like that Japanese show MXC, but in my opinion, smarter. In some of the courses, the obstacles are manually activated, and so, when the contestants approach still obstacles, little do they know, they're in for a face full of 'Boom'. Or, slammed into something and flinging into the water. This show is awesome!

Not as I expected, but still good
21 March 2011
I really got into this movie. It was higher pace than what I expected it to be. I thought it would be a bunch of flying planes trying and trying to blow this big thing out of the sky. It was different. Other people I talked to said it was a little off, however, most movies that take on the military will be a little off. If you go into this movie with knowing that, that imperfections pertaining to the military won't bother you, in my opinion. I think the graphics were awesome, and the acting was definitely above average, though, there was some obvious corny parts that seems constant with 'alien vrs mankind' movies. The audio in the beginning seemed a little echoey, but once the movie started picking up with some action, that ceased to be an issue.

Looks bootlegged, but kept me entertained nevertheless
14 March 2011
Okay, I understand that the production company of this one isn't top notch, but, come on. The first time a regular gun doesn't even scratch one of the robots, that's when every single person with any kind of sense realizes that it's pointless to attempt a stand off with the robots. Matter of fact, you might as well just dump the gun. I think people like thriller type movies to posses some common sense. That just bugged me throughout the movie. Besides that, the graphics are below average, but good enough not to distract from paying attention. The acting ranges from good to bad. Unfortunately, the majority is pretty bad. The audio is horrendous. Echoes when there shouldn't be any, distortion during some suspenseful scenes, and airy. For the visual, there are many many scenes when this movie looks bootlegged. Many shots when the camera is too close to the actors face. The camera is shaky a lot. Some backgrounds did not move synchronized with the actors, obviously because it's a green screen. The storyline isn't bad, and the movie is entertaining, though just barely. Overall, slightly below average because the production and acting wasn't convincing. It wasn't a bad movie though, just not up to par.

Inception (2010)
A Wonderful Original Movie
14 March 2011
This is one smart and entertaining movie right here. The type that makes you want to watch it a couple times for you to completely comprehend and appreciate it's genius. All of your attention is needed for this one. And Leonardo Dicaprio definitely continues to chose smart original suspense titles that don't disappoint. I can always trust his character to be intelligent also. A must see movie for anybody, except maybe kids. The movie is awesome in BLUE RAY, but I'm sure will still be very enjoyable in normal DVD format, due to the fact that the storyline is excellently crafted, with little need for crazy action scenes, even if there are some. And the best thing about this movie in my opinion, is, it's an original. So many movies are remakes, and that's fine sometimes, but to watch an original, a movie that you don't necessarily know the story and how it ends and whatnot, makes for a more suspenseful movie.
