Pett Kata Shaw: Ei Building a Meye Nished (2022)

Okay direction, poor execution
11 April 2022
This started with a lot of potential as the story tried to build on the age old folklore, and offered a nice fusion with modern urban setting. However, rubbish acting blended with poor plot tests the audience's patience. The story does not even attempt to go into the depths of the characters let along develop them.

It was a nice idea with a lot of potential. The execution killed it.

Nicely paced thriller
28 September 2021
This one has a really good story with a few twists to keep the suspense throughout the movie. Really refreshing to see these thriller dramas. Liked it. 7 out of 10 is well deserved.

Disgusting and Waste of Time
21 August 2021
Boring, confusing and incoherent. Shrijit somehow tried to bank on Badhan's sex appeal, which is non-existent as she is too old. The plot did not make much sense. Also, the scenes of cannibalism was too forced. A total waste of time.

Agatha Christie story retold
27 July 2021
An inferior retelling of Agatha Christie's world famous Murder on the Orient Express, this web series copies the main story and tries to throw in some Bangali masala.

Positive sides are nice acting and very good colors captured in natural light.

On the other hand, a very predictable storyline with a lot of plot holes makes it less enjoyable than an original story.

I have never seen such a sweet sweet movie before. This is got to be the best romantic movie I have ever seen. Nearly flawless plot and superb execution by Julia and Hugh.

Not too intelligent
8 June 2021
Warning: Spoilers
If you want to watch a movie that is based on an intelligent plot, this is not one. Nonetheless, this was really entertaining. A lot of things were left to chance. I mean how stupid can the ex-Russian mafia be to not confirm the kill once try to murder someone. At one point of the movie when Marla is captured by Roman, he could have used Fran to get the info out from Marla. Instead, he goes on a search-and-destroy spree.

Anyway, Rosamund Pike did a really good job by portraying a smart and vile female protagonist/antagonist. Movies often portray women in simple and innocent way as if they are the innocent pretty things unable to do bad things. This kind of movies showing women in real life roles where they can be as brutal as males and show that once you remove the thin veil of societal discrimination the likelihood of getting murdered, mutiliated conned and raped by a woman is the same as that by a man. Women can be capable and intelligent enough to commit the same vicious crimes as men, and the society should stop benevolent sexism and treat women as fragile things that need protection.

Too many forced twists
2 March 2021
The build up was not too bad. But, there are so many plot holes in the movie that it reminded me of my noodles strainer. Bad movie, such a waste of time.

Time waste
4 January 2021
In short it is a bloody time waster. I think this is a propaganda movie, they also show Modi in the end.

Akshay has already lost my respect, now Vidya and Taapsee too.

Fantastic!
2 January 2021
This one was a fantastic movie that tackles the inner ridiculous nuances of the Nazi Germany at the time of World War II. A ten year old boy, growing up in the ocean of propaganda perpetuated by Hitler's war machine, fascinated by the Führer's charisma, willingly joins the youth program of the Nazi Party. Incidentally, his path crosses with that of a Jewish teenage girl. This leads to a heap of macabre events that unfurl entangling politics and racism.

Both the child actors did great as protagonists while Scarlett Johansson's contribution was a cherry on top.

It is a very likable movie, evident by the favorable score it received in IMDB. I would even go further and say this is one of the best movie to portray (and mock) the puerile concepts of the Nazis that led to the monstrous atrocities of the war to end all wars.

Blunt
2 January 2021
This movie is a waste of time, and one of the many pointless works done by once great Nicholas Cage. Although to be fair, Cage's role was so tiny that it looked like an extended cameo rather than a fully fleshed cast member.

This movie would take the viewer through the medieval China where intra dynastic struggle breaks off between children of the dead monarch. For some never-explained reasons two ex-crusaders were present in the land who happen to come into their path and help the "good" child win the throne. The backdrop was well done, especially with an average portrayal of melee fights and exchange of arrows. On the other hand the story is super weak and all the emotional set-pieces fail to hit the mark.

Pedro Pascal did well
1 January 2021
That is pretty much it. It was good to see the small screen star Pascal on the grand platform. He surely outshone Gal Gadot and everyone else.

The story is very weak, and the direction was super poor. This is by a big margin the worst DC superhero movie. There is no charm in any of the sequences.

On top of it iMAX (read LieMax) is branding it in a deceptive way. There are literally 2 scenes shot on iMAX film - the opening big race/competition scene and the unimportant closing scene. All the other action sequences are on normal ratio. This was rather disappointing. Glad that I did not go to iMAX to watch this, and thank you HBO Max.

Good buildup
28 December 2020
The build up was good with an unorthodox plot but the ending was messed up. The characters were related but the relation was not too strong and believable. In the end there is a forced twist which did not work well.

Stunning plot!
16 December 2020
Very well made movie with a memerizing plot. Seo-yeon receives a call from Young-sook, but from the past. The time travelling phone calls unleash a spiral of unpredictable events that brings out a serial killer and insteas of sealing the fate changes it.

Quite entertaining. Watched the English dubbed version on Netflix. Have to say well done with the dubbing.

Disgusting
11 December 2020
The only reason I wanted to see this was it spoke about the often ignored third gender. However, the execution is dull. This is a complete waste of time. Akshay Kumar did some good movies recently, but I think he is losing his touch.

Masterpiece
11 December 2020
A true piece of art by a master storyteller, Tenet explores the depths of future tech to weave a high velocity tale of soul piercing emotions entangled with a horizon of diversified dynamics of humane relationships. Nolan fantastically spiels the narrative establishing its base on the laws of physics and manipulates the strings of destiny to take the audience on a roller coaster ride through the unilluminated caverns and minacious dungeons of time.

Multiple viewing is recommended.

No twist, no turn. Here comes a Terminator (should I really put a capital T in here?!), and here comes a savior, and then we "terminate" the "Terminator" (No, seriously. Is it a proper noun, or just a common one?).

Black Comedy
20 November 2020
Indian black comedies are the perfect fusion of black humor and desi masala mix. It tells a grand story where lives of the characters get entangled. Life is a set of random events, just like a game of Ludo, where we may think we are in control of things, but we really are not. The roles of Yamraaj and his assistant Chitragupta as the disinterested observers added extra flavour in this high velocity drama.

Amazing Actions!!

Who says you cannot make an action movie without a story (or one you can tell in about 30 seconds) yet keep your audience glued to their seats! Amazing movie from Indonesia.

Marvelous Execution
22 October 2020
The acting of 2 protagonists as well as direction and cinematography were extra ordinary. It is a story about the Korean resistance against the Japanese oppression. It has elements of a spy thriller as well as packed with timely suspense and action. Highly recommended.

One of the greatest of all time
20 October 2020
Very few police chase thrillers will make you feel the real heat like this one. Along with awesome acting from Al Pacino and Robert De Niro, the tight storyline took me through a ride never to be forgotten. This is one of the movies that has a perfect balance between the pace of the story and deep dialogues.

It's a ride along the American highways with the weird family. A lot of adventures happen in the road trip where Russ tries to make everyone happy and bond as a family. Pretty fun.

Well Defined Vampires
18 October 2020
Great actors like Brad Pitt, Tom Cruise, and Antonio Banderas made this a very watchable movie. All the vampire characters looked and felt very real.

The movie has done very well with the definitions and kept good attention to minute details. On the other hand the overly mellodramatic tone killed a lot of fun.

Unlike Sandler's other movies this lack quality humor. The fun parts looked very much pushed into the audiences faces.

So, Hubie, a small town good-guy, assumes the role of the spreading ethical behavior in halloween every year. This year, things take a really unexpected turn.

Great one!
18 October 2020
I wanted to watch it on IMAX but could not. It looked great on home video as well.

A fascinating story of a journey through the enemy territory to deliver a crucial message, the movie has been brillintly executed. They claim it to be a one shot movie, but you will feel the transitions somehow, though done very nicely. The very long shots are superbly done.
