Gotham (2014–2019)

in middle of series it began to fall apart
14 February 2022
Some good acting. Characters are well built, but the plot is horrendous due to some villains being killed and then revived by dr Strange. In the end, it has become annoying.

But anyway I watched it till the end just out of respect.

Matthew McConaughey should be ashamed
22 March 2019
Not sure why or how Matthew McConaughey thought it's a good idea to star in this movie. Well maybe his acting was decent even for such worse than mediocre film, but he could find better roles to show off his talents. The movie was boring, without any meaningful plot or idea, I am liberal person but this was too much and the way of life that was depicted in the movie should not be encouraged and idealized. Do not waste your time on this film!

A disgrace to a film industry
18 March 2017
One of the worst films ever made in history of cinema. I find it difficult to say more, because I don't want to waste a lot of time talking about garbage, because I already spent a couple of hours watching this. In short, the film is total crap, the plot is so pointless and shallow that you could not imagine that it could approved for film production but it seems that there is gonna be a third sequel. It's definitely not worth wasting time watching this terribly made movie.

Concussion (2015)
6/10
Great expectations led to great disappointments
6 March 2016
The story of Concussion is really interesting. It's mind-blowing that it's based on true events.

After hearing and reading lots of good comments about the movie, I genuinely expected a lot from this picture. Unfortunately, I was disappointed because the script was poorly written and the whole film's direction was a disaster. The script seems to be filled with shallow twists that had been seen in hundreds of other movies and that made the promising film look like another cheap Hollywood movie made for the masses. The story is greatly exploited here in this film as a bait for movie-goers.

However, the film was saved by the the story, and the decent acting of Will Smith. Undoubtedly, not all people knew the story beforehand, and I personally was eager to know more after the film. So in this sense the film was a success.

All in all, the film is not so fantastic as other reviews say. The film is clearly over-rated. However, the film is a good choice for those who want to spend some free time and just relax.

Insidious (I) (2010)

decent, but nothing special
22 April 2011
I read some reviews here before watching this film, and at first glance this movie seemed to be very promising. However I didn't feel very scary while watching this film because the plot was easily predictable and primitive at times.

The costumes and special effects were not too sophisticated.

What rescued this film from disaster is an incredible acting by Patrick Wilson, Rose Byrne and Ty Simpkins. They are the reason this movie was worth watching, but due to flawed plot I am forced to get 4 point away from this film.

The problem with these kind of films is that closed space, i.e. haunted house, was used so many times before in other horror movies, that the more you watch such movies, the more silly they look. I love such films as Paranormal activity, or Blair witch project, as they are original in context of other horror movies. A lot of already seen details are not scary anymore, movie-makers have to think more to get an interesting horror movie now.

Proves that poverty, crime and drugs come along with moral degradation
4 February 2011
One of the excellent movies ever made, deserving 18th place in the IMDb TOP 250 movies list.

An incredibly touching story doesn't seem to be a true story, but you are gonna be amazingly struck to know that this all is based on true events.

The story just shows the sad history of Brazil, and the rest of Latin American underdeveloped countries. The poverty, crimes and drugs prove to be the reason of moral degradation. The disgusting thing is that children were involved in those events. Children were raised under these conditions, they didn't know that there was another side of life and the world. The terrible conditions, murders of innocent people, drug abuse were a daily life things. And that is incredibly moving, that some people proved to save their humanity and soul unharmed, depicting a young talented photographer living under these conditions and telling the story of his childhood.

The film deserves applause for incredible acting and directing. The screenplay writer was great at his job too.

total failure
5 August 2010
The movie doesn't even worth to get 1 point out of 10; I would give 0.2 if I could. I would recommend this film maybe for children under 5 years old. The special effects were really poor. Acting was not that awful. I just cant understand why brandon frazer accepted the role in the movie. The plot and the script was quite primitive without any deep thought. I cant give high evaluation for directing too. The director should be ashamed that he made such movie. I would say that the movie should nominated for the worst movie of the year.

Generally, you should not spend one and a half hours watching this cheap piece of trash.

all the world's a stage, and all the men and women are merely players

Warning: Spoilers
Fantastic movie, I absolutely adored the plot, which means that screenplay was written by some magician. The film tells such an unusual story that you just cant love it.

The plot is very dynamic and thoughtful. Controlling puppets is not the as controlling people from inside. It seemed like an innocent story of a puppeteer who found a hole which takes you inside John Malkovich, but it turned into conspiracy of a bunch of people who use human vessels to live forever.

I think this marvelously told story teaches us that people have to be what they are.

After all, this is a great movie, and I don't regret that I've given it 10/10. It does worth more though.

Delicate and touching story - one of the best dramas of all times
11 July 2010
Warning: Spoilers
Tragic drama involving a young boy's first pure and long-lasting love with a woman. One of the most emotional drama films I have ever seen.

A delicate story told in authentic environment of post-war Germany which is recreated in top style. The film shows how love changes people, and therefore the audience is openly questioned what is a real pure love.

This a very deep story with lots of unexpected turns, twists and subplots. Story has one of the most dramatic turns I have ever seen. This allows us to understand better the human nature.

The film provides another look at the bloody crimes committed during WW2 by some Germans in the concentration camps. The movie brings up a very important question of what is guilt.

This was Kate Winslet's the best movie so far. She was acting in an incredible way. It's not a surprise that she got Academy Award for this as a best actress. The young German actor David Kross has also showed that he is an immensely talented actor.

The directing is wonderful. The screenplay is one of the best.

All in all, the film is one best works of art I have ever seen with a touching story. It really deserves those nominations for Academy Awards.

Medical drama of very complicated relationships
8 July 2010
One of the best medical dramas containing not only medical cases but also a natural view at human relationship.

The wide variety of different and colourful characters is something what makes this television drama so successful.

The drama is filled up with humour which is also a key element to the success of the series.

Those 128 episodes contain all spectrum of human emotions.

The screenplays are lively making the series suitable for the whole family. Actors are stunning. It seems that they live up the life they are acting.

The ability and success of looking inside of human mind allow me to put this drama at the top of those TV series that worth watching.

Good action movie with thought
8 July 2010
Warning: Spoilers
At the first minutes the movie seemed like another one apocalyptic movie. But it brought some sort of message to humanity about its values.

The scene is clear - the future full of gangster like criminals who have absolutely no values. Eli is the one who carries a book - Bible which saves him in various situations. The bandit who looks for this book for some sort of salvation.

The Bible doesn't necessarily represent some kind of religion. The bible carries the message what our values should be. The movie shows people having those values and people without them.

The film has an interesting plot, good visuals good acting job. However, it contained too much violence.

The movie bringing this kind of message looked too weak in a sense that I understood what is the message but I failed to believe in that message. I don't know, maybe that's the director's fault, or the blame should be put on writers.

All in all, this movie is worth watching for those who want to see some brilliant actors in action movie with superb visual effects.

Pulp Fiction (1994)
8/10
Not too deep but brilliantly entertaining
7 July 2010
Quentinn Tarantino at his best. "Pulp fiction" is the best picture Tarantino has ever made. Containing a lot of violence and the idea of degrading values, the movie has proved to be the viewers' favorite of all times.

The plot is not that simple, the whole story is wrapped up smartly to link all plot lines into one great adventure and crime movie.

A lot of great actors feature this film and this is also something extraordinary about this film. The success of bringing all those talented actors, such as Samuel L. Jackson, Bruce Willis, Tim Roth, John Travolta and many other, together to make this brilliant movie was worth to do.

The success of this movie and its popularity is that that "Pulp fiction" makes the audience intriguingly absorbed for two and a half relaxing hours.

12 Angry Men (1957)

One of the greatest victories of human over ignorance
7 July 2010
Warning: Spoilers
"12 angry man" is one of those legendary movies that can be watched at any time in human history. I am sure this movie will still be in the top 10 of the greatest movies of all times.

It is a simple but complex movie. It has a perfect content - great and different characters, intriguing plot, climax and so on.

Maybe the end is a little bit predictable but luckily it doesn't make this movie boring.

What makes this film great is the plot. 12 men have to decide if a man is guilty or not. The man's life is at stake. One man, who cares for life is up to make things clear. He doesn't want to let the young man be sent to die so easily. He openly questions his guilt of the crime, and therefore saves him from gallows.

Victory over ignorance and dumb obstinacy is important in the movie.

Perfect movie
6 July 2010
One of the best horror movies I've ever seen. It contains everything that describes a perfect movie: growing tension, climax, resolution. While watching it you will never know what's ahead. It's totally unpredictable. And that's great.

Two great actors made astonishing work in convincing us that everything what they tell is true.

The whole technique of filming this movie just helps to convince the viewers in the reality of the events.

This movie can and must be stand along with Blair witch project, among those greatest horror/thriller movies. It's not one of those primitive horror movies, this is a masterpiece.

Legendary PSI Factor
4 July 2010
This one of the most fascinating TV series I have ever seen. I remember watching the series on TV when I was a small child. At that time, the series seemed scary and I actually believed these stories were true.

Now, when I grew up and watched all the series all over again, I could judge those series with more reason. So, I saw a lot of factual errors. Factuals errors occur not in the actual part which thought to be fictional but in ordinary things.

But I have to admit that the screenplays are written in clever and absorbing way, and that helps to keep viewers interested in this project even after the year when it was closed. Not to mention a great bunch of actors who added sincerity to the series. Their professionalism made these series genuine.

All in all, PSI factor will always remain the classical science fiction TV series, which inspired other great project. So its influence is undoubtedly immense.
