The Way Home (II) (2010)

Know that it is religious
2 January 2011
My wife and I sat down on a Saturday night thinking that the film would be action, drama, or comedy. We didn't know that it was an experience in religion. Whether based on facts or not the story is not believable. Yes, it will pull you in as would any story about the loss of a child but this B rated, direct to DVD movie should be avoided. If you are a devout Christian you will love this amateurish production, maybe.

This film is all about preaching god to you and trying to get you to believe in god. I am annoyed that this kind of film is allowed in the main-stream and that such a film can be put upon so many innocent viewers. I'm sure this is just the beginning of the video invasion of more of the same

I Cried Too
25 October 2004
This is a must-see movie. Don't know if you have to be a child though. If you like movies with unconditional love this is the best I think I have ever seen. I saw it when I was growing up. The images are still with me. Agree with the post from London that I would still probably cry if I saw it again.

Spencer Tracy has been my hero since I saw it over 40 years ago. If you are a sailor and like the ocean you will like this movie. The wooden ship and the sails are amazing. I don't know why I need to say any more about this movie. I worshiped the movie and the father-figure that Spencer Tracy represented to me. The world needs more men and women that children can look up to. I don't think they have many in post 911. Maybe John Kerry can change that.

Dune (1984)
The Original Movie IS The Best
10 May 2003
DUNE was wonderfully stange when I first saw it in 1980-something. We are not comparing it to the book. We should compare it to great films like Blade Runner which were way ahead of their time. Watching the Sci-Fi Channel version of Dune is like watching an old Star Trek TV series. It looks primitive now. Television just does not reach the same level of realness. The TV version is not believeable after seeing the original Dune. You must see the Lynch DUNE. It is mandatory for science fiction lovers. I read enough on my job but maybe I will break down and read the book some day.

Had To Watch It Again
22 March 2003
It was riveting the first time and equally so the second time. I couldn't stand to miss one word. I guess I was hooked on it. It dwarfs A Beautiful Mind; I don't know how you rated that one. The movie leaves you excited about being obsessed with anything you really love. I think it was the story that grabbed me, not whatever failings someone is guessing the film has. The beauty of loving Sasha, someone who is NOT off the yuppie assembly line. However, the good-heartedness of the yuppie (the mother's choice). The good-heartedness of Sash's opponent. The evil of only one bad apple. Its a beautiful world that must exist outside of reality. Certainly outside the borders of my country. It is what movies do...make us dream and wish it could be true.

I Enjoyed This Movie
26 January 2003
I thoroughly enjoyed this movie. It frightened me and that's all it takes to entertain me. I question the critic who knows "insider background" of a movie or the guy who reads the back of a jewel case BEFORE he watches the movie. Maybe they know too much to be entertained. Audience beware: Do not read about the movie before watching it. It's common sense. The movie had good acting and a scary plot!

Big (1988)
Great Movie - Perfect For Family
10 November 2002
The "this has already been done too many times" cliche just doesn't cut it. The movie had me holding my breath and praying he wouldn't leave her when I saw it many years ago. It is in the genre of love lost which is alway a moving experience - if you have ever lost a love. Your eyes will tear up and a gigantic drop will run down your cheek. Watching it with my 10-year-old daughter was a delight. Wonder how she felt inside???

Great Movie - A Primer on Love Lost
27 July 2002
Every true love should be immortalized like this one. Couldn't find a better movie to express the pain of love. Love does not need rationality or perfection - it is perfection. The movie really defies review - if you can watch it without crying...you've never lost true love and it is not a movie you could possibly appreciate. Some movies do not require great acting or music...the story carries you away. To me the acting and music were great and I howled in grief. It will be a cult film for lovers.
