A pesar de todo (2019)
Very shallow and not funny
I expected to see a nice comedy. Instead what I saw was a boring and not funny film. Except the wonderful Rossy de Palma whom I admire, not a single actor had a good or interesting role. The sisters are terrible, egoistic, stupid and useless. Their mother seemed a terrible woman as well, it's unclear why their father stayed with her at all. The men in this film are losers without any spine in general. The storyline is boring- sort of quest for finding the fathers, while nothing interesting comes out of this - no new character or storyline development. It's good the film was short - 1h20mins. Not recommended.
Plan A Plan B (2022)
A nice little movie
Watched the film with my husband on the weekend, and we both quite enjoyed it. We do not usually watch Indian films, and were pleasantly surprised. The film was not overly long, with only a few songs/dances and a modern story. The film was funny and sweet, the actors not bad. I liked the colours and the esthetics, all the details. The Indian setting was interesting, though the characters are very modern and western. It's a positive film, with a happy ending. The ending of course is predictable, but it's standard for romcoms, so not an issue. In short - a way better film than average Netflix stuff.
Storks (2016)
Stupid and offensive
I love silly comedies and animation. But this film was really horrible, I was sorry my child saw it. The children are not born by women, they are actually delivered by all-male storks... The characters are stupid and illogical, the plot is irrational. Pure garbage.
Spectros (2020)
Actually very nice and entertaining
I do not understand the low rating this show received. It has a nice story, good characters and acting, and an unusual background. The story happens in a Japanese neighbourhood in Brasil- I loved the filming location. The characters speak in Portuguese and ocassionally in Japanese. In a nutshell - three teenagers become involved in a necromancer's plot and reluctantly try to save the world. The show is not really scary (I'm very sensitive), and is more character-driven. Try it, it's nice (and do not quit just after the first episode).
Star Wars: Episode IX - The Rise of Skywalker (2019)
Much better that the first two disasters of Disney trilogy
I'm a lifelong Star Wars fan. I loved both Lukas' trilogies. They told authentic stories, and were mythical, epic and felt whole. I was really excited when Disney films came out. I disliked the first one and really hated the second, and if not for my husband- would pass this one. However, though it's not a masterpiece, it was actually a nice movie. It has some kind of a plot, and even some authentic ideas. It's logical (compared to the two previous abominations). It's well made, with good music and visuals, and good acting. And no Death Stars explode in it- a huge bonus! It has no world building or politics, and does not really feel like Star Wars- but still-it's actually enjoyable.
