Michael (1996)
Perfect
7 February 2002
I love this movie. The cast, the story, everything about this movie is nothing less than perfect. I really don't have a whole lot to say but then again what is there to say? From the beginning to the end i was captivated by this movie. MacDowell and Travolta's characters were well put together and amazing. This easily beats Nora Ephron's other films - the Meg Ryan/Tom Hanks duo - I love Michael. Really, this is a must-see movie! The plot - two journalists and a supposed "Angel Expert" travel across the country to see an old woman who apparently has an angel staying with her. The old woman dies and the 3 visitors convince the angel to come with them on a hilarious road trip across the USA. Perfect comedy-drama. Perfect cast. Perfect.

Hauntingly Beautiful and disturbing
11 December 2001
Warning: Spoilers
*THIS MAY CONTAIN SPOILERS TO VIEWERS WHO HAVE NOT SEEN THE FILM*

'Picnic at Hanging Rock' is one of the most beautiful films I have ever seen. From the moment Miranda waves goodbye and walks up the rock I was spellbound by this cinematic masterpiece. As the inhabitants of the town search for the answers to the mysteries we are drawn into this beautiful world. The highest point is the soundtrack to this film which adds to the haunting atmosphere.

A note though is that this film is disturbing. When Irma is found and returns to the school, her classmates simply want to know what happened. The scene where she is reunited with them is spooky (that's the best word i can think of!). And it's the small things that make this movie work - different people in the town discover separate clues but never put them to use. If they had all put their clues together the mystery may have been solved.

I give this film a 9 out of 10 - it is a classic film and a must-see.

The Movie Show (1991–2008)
must-see TV for all movie buffs!
11 November 2001
The Movie Show has been constant entertainment for 15 years as Margaret Pomeranz and David Stratton review the latest movies from around the globe. Each of them, with their very different conflicting views of the movies they review, must give a rating out of 5-stars.

It is always fun just to see what they think of the movies that the critics have felt so differently about and it's been a top show since the days when Margaret wore those HUGE earrings and the two of them held up little stars to the days where Margaret's earrings are much smaller and the aid of technology influences the show. But no matter how the years have affected them, that 'Battle of the Sexes' theme will always be there.

This is regular weekly viewing for all Australian movie buffs and is clearly one of Australia's best loved shows!

Always Greener (2001–2003)
Great show - laugh-a-second!
8 October 2001
Always Greener is an amazing show. While the basic plot is nothing shocking, the characters are real and the comedy is there all the way. The actors (John Howard, Anne Tenney, Michala Banas and Daniel Bowden to mention a few) are really snug in their roles and the stories just keep coming

Personal favourites (so far after 5 episodes) include the "scary cow" scene, the "chilli powder" and the characters of Pip and Marissa.

I can't see why anyone would say anything against this series, and from the looks of it (TOP 10 most watched shows every week since it began!), It's here to stay!
