The Rookie: True Crime (2021)
Hysterical. Original. So much fun!
We're always asking writers to come up with something original. THIS WAS ORIGINAL! This episode of the Rookie stepped away from standard story telling and presented us with something different. We couldn't stop laughing! Thank you writers and actors. Great job!
The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel (2017)
Season 2 Disappointment
We absolutely loved the first season. I watched it twice! Painfully funny, witty and bright. Much to our surprise, the 2nd season comes off as a parody of the first. The characters seem to be making fun of themselves. I think either the success of Season 1 was too much pressure for the writers/producers or they just ran out of ideas. Either way, we gave up after watching 3 episodes. Oh well.
Suits (2011)
Should've stopped 2 years ago
We loved this show until Season 7. The interaction between Mike and Harvey was engaging and smart. Louis is a hoot and absolutely unique as a character. I gave it a 5 because it was so good for so long but it's too bad it didn't stop there. Instead of a lawyer show with interesting characters the story lines devolved into soap opera. We were hoping that the new season would get the characters back into the court room and into the law, but no such luck. Just more soap. Oh well.
Jack Reacher (2012)
Met My VERY Low Expectations
I have read every Jack Reacher book or story out there. I love them! For me they are better than candy. When I heard Tom Cruise was going to play the title role in this movie I was very disappointed. I decided 2 things: 1 - I won't see the movie and 2 - it won't spoil the books for me. I will still see Jack Reacher as the towering, powerful person Lee Child portrays in the books. So, this morning I was flipping the channels and saw the movie on FX. I figured - why not give it a few minutes? Maybe it isn't as bad as I thought. To my surprise, it was even worse than I thought. In the 5 minutes I watched, Tom Cruise walks into a bar and towers over the other people in the bar. How? The dude is 5'7" - the only bar he can "tower" in is a hobbit bar. Then he promptly annoys a little girl who's big, bad boy friends take Jack outside to teach him a lesson. Really? Then Tom Cruise proceeds to beat the smirk out of the 5 opponents in one of the cheesiest fight scenes I've ever seen. (I don't want to compare any other movies to this one so I don't offend them). Bottom line, too bad. I would've loved to see a good Jack Reacher flick. I guess it isn't going to happen.
Pearl Harbor (2001)
Give me back my 3 hours
Why in heavens name did they have to make this movie? It was merchandising in the cheapest, weakest way. I'm really sorry I went to see it. Maybe these comments will save someone else's evening. I don't want to waste any more time on this movie.
