Farscape: Premiere (1999)
Farscape the new sci fi
Absolutely love Farscape. It is as cool as Star Trek and I am an orginal fan from the way back machine, Mr.Peabody. Love Ben Browder and all the cast. Hope they don't kill off anybody but keep to the realy off the wall sci fi stuff that has already been displayed. Love Ben's spike hair do this year.
The show is so cool because of the inter action between the main characters, like the orginal Star Trek. If you are turned off by that because you are so young you don't remember when there was no sci fi except Star Trek and their styro foam sets, please give consideration to the great stories in Farscape.
Roswell (1999)
How wonderful to be young, in love, and alien.
I watched the show from the beginning but I reserved my opinion until I had seen a couple shows. I love it. But I'm a sucker for anything alien, so I'm probably not a good judge.
I think it will last because of the strong character interaction. I love them and their contrasts.
And of course, there's Jason Behr.....
Meet Joe Black (1998)
Brad an Angel?
I rented this movie mainly because it didn't run very long in my area. It was long, but I was pleased. I hadn't expected to be. I love Brad and Anthony Hopkins, but I had read it was a sleeper, for real. I don't think I would have wanted to set in the theater that long, but at home when you can stop and start, it was entertaining. I got scared it was not going to have a happy ending, though. I would rent it again, but I would not have paid twice to see it in the theater, since I didn't even pay once to see it.
Invasion America (1998)
Great animation by DreamWorks
I love this mini series that was shown on The Warner Bros. tv network this summer. We, the fans, understand there are five books involved in the telling of this hero myth in space. I hope that DreamWorks can produce at least the second installment, Book Two. They have become a sufficient competitor of Disney in that field, with their two animated releases this summer, ANTZ and PRINCE OF EGYPT.
INVASION AMERICA prempted an established tv series the nights it aired and that may have hurt its' ratings, but an animated show on prime time is unusual anywhere.
It just shows that a dramatic story can be told in the animation format.
