Striking Distance (1993)
This was at first predictable and then ridiculous
290 votes were made before mine and none of them thought the film was worth a comment, what does that tell you? This film stars Bruce Willis, I liked him in Die Hard, forgave him in the sequel and felt saddened by With A Vengence, in Mercury Rising he almost made me cry, this guy cannot act as proven by his repetitive angry rebel policeman role, it's not typecasting, it is all he can do. This film is bad, I saw few redeeming or original features, the only good point is Fraisers dad is in it and I like him and Fraiser.
Navy Seals (1990)
Smooth film
Watch this film it is not so caught up in hollywood crap as Top Gun which i like, but lets face it isnt the best of films despite the acting, the feel good factor makes the film. Navy Seals is cool well made but suffers from being a bit too predictable and cliche heavy, angry leader, reckless trooper gets a Family man killed but comes through in the end. A good film to watch and enjoy it is not too pretentious it is good fun and real looking enough to satisfy.
Lurkers (1987)
It's a horror movie
This film freaks me out. It's cheaply made and incoherent but the muddle created disturbed me. Stripping, granny sex, lesbianism are all given a nod to. The stunts seem too real, when a girl is strangled with a skipping rope I believed it. A film to watch with your mates and a drink. Surreal content.
Saving Private Ryan (1998)
This is a Good movie
I saw this a week after "You've Got Mail" which sucks. I did not expect a lot from Tom Hanks. This film is well made, well edited and is an exciting and disturbing look at war. The film contains two members of the friend's cast, the medic is Phoebe's brother and the Jew killed by the knife is Crazy Eddy Chandlers ex roomate. Not a must see... no film is, but a worthy should see if at all possible.

Léon (1994)
This film breeds emotion
I love films that make me feel or think this did both for me. When Leon is asked to open the door and he fights his conscience he not only saves our young heroine but can reclaim his own humanity. The contrast between violent action and touching, characterising interaction between the leads and corrupt DEA is great it is a film everyone should watch a classy piece of film which felt like it actually had a message, rather than a Tarantino style flick (which i like). The ending is bittersweet enough for me to love it and the film's general moral ambiguity.
The First Power (1990)
Not a bad tv movie in my opinion
I saw this in the early hours at the Roosevelt Hotel New York, my body kept british time allowing me to wake up for the early morning movies... YEA. This film is really good on effects even if it is predictable, it was entertaining and i thought it was quite original, the religious angle is played well, good vs evil, God vs Satan. The first power is resurrection and satan grants it to one of his minions this is all caught up with apsychic and a cop. Good Light entertainment.
The Siege (1998)
My God can a film be this bad and released in the Cinema ...
I went to see this movie having seen a trailer and i was expecting a mildly paced action/intrigue film like In The Line Of Fire... I was disappointed. I should have read a review... I didn't. This film sucked. It sucked so bad it was physically painful. All through the film i could feel a good movie trying to shine through. The film tries to make a statement, i don't know what the statement was they had a main cast of evil white General, black hero, ugly white Cia woman, arabic sidekick this moves away from the beautiful white cast we see in lots of other movies but the equality message was overdone against the evil arabs background. I didn't like this film, it's the worst cinema experience i have ever had the dialogue was laughable. i've seen cheap horror vids with higher quality scripting (how does the Siege convey the pain of the prison camps emotive music ha ha ha why not just use screams of the tormented they did). This film seemed to steal heavily from other films "I am the law" hmm didn't Judge Dredd have this line before General bruce "borrowed it" ... bomb on a bus ... reminds me of speed.. watch this film on tv and laugh at its crap quality with a good budget setup do not pay to see it
The Rocky Horror Picture Show (1975)
Whoa this was a different Movie !!!
Waking up new years day 1999 to see what i had recorded this film appeared with Mark Lamar introducing it... I started hungover but the lips woke me up, scared me up. This film is weird but i loved it. the music was clever and the first hour formed a sense blurring merge of magically freakish elements that soon sobered me up.Riff Raff and Janet rapidly became my favourate characters with amazing voices Tim Curry was amazing and so overblown he was believable. The sexual elements rapidly became the norm but i was stunned when the Dr Killed a minor character in anger. Superb film ... a cult is well deserved.
