Worth the wait in "ICE"
28 May 2004
*** NO Spoilers ***

Sometimes I question my priorities, for example, I was sitting in a movie theater at 12:05am FRIDAY morning waiting for probably the most highly anticipated movie of the summer, knowing I had to be at a 7am meeting. WHO CARES. This movie was worth the wait! The cinematography was remarkable from the opening scenes of these tremendous glaciers of ice to an unforgettable view of Los Angeles literally destroyed. Just when you think you seen it all here come the wolves... I could go on and on, but I have a 7 o'clock meeting and I need coffee... I plan on going again, great movies like this can't be seen just one time.

Excellent Movie

Excellent Movie! I was captivated from beginning to end. The cinematography was phenomenal! The acting was superb. Al Pacino is his usual "brilliant" self. And Robin Williams, WOW! He is truly remarkable. The opening scene is stunning, it truly sets the tone! Worth seeing and buying on DVD when it is released!

The Concert for New York City (2001 TV Special)

Very dissapointed!
6 February 2002
I was very dissapointed with the concert, I'm sorry I purchased it on DVD, the only good thing is the money (hopefully) went to aid the victim relief. From Opera-man forgetting that kids were in the audience to the Backstreet Boys dedicating "Quit Playing Games With My Heart" to the victims families, it was obvious that the concert was "rushed". It truly lacked continuity.

I would highly recommend watching "America: A Tribute To Heroes" It was a phenomenal event that truly lived up to it's title.

Never tell someone you "HATE" them, because "HATE" is a powerful word...

Great movie! John Singleton does it again. Every couple should see this film and learn what NOT to do in relationships. The movie is very indicative of how we send the people we love through Roller-coasters of emotions, and sometimes says the exact opposite of what we mean, and how, IF pushed to the limit, we can do something that will change our lives forever. Never tell someone you "HATE" them, because "HATE" is a powerful word, one that you can never take back.

Traffic (2000)
I was Stuck in "TRAFFIC"
21 January 2001
Literally... I was stuck because I was in the last seat on the row of a PACKED theatre and could not get out. Seriously though, I did not enjoy this movie AT ALL! The sad fact is it had the potential to be the "BEST FILM" of the year. The Cinematography was brilliant, the plot potential was great, I just wish it would have moved quicker, been more intense. The previews were deceiving... I must say, I did enjoy the hurricane joke though... but my girlfriend didn't....

Cast Away (2000)
9/10
A Great movie that could have been Excellent except for...
1 January 2001
...one scene where the words "FOUR YEARS LATER" appear, in my opinion that's what can seperate a good director from a great director. If done well the audience should not have to be told it is 4 years later... we should already know it... again that is just my opinion, otherwise kudos to Tom for making this another "Must See" film. I was sitting in a theater getting ready to watch MEN OF HONOR, another good one, when the trailer for Cast Away came on, and I remember sitting there captured by the clips of the plane crash (I agree with another viewer, they did give too much of the movie away) and saying I have to see this.

Huge credit goes to Wilson, of course, "someone" I am sure we can all relate. I admired Tom's desire to get Wilson back and then making a conscious decision to give up the fight and move on... that was a very powerful momment... a very final momment that was beautifully done. I am glad Wilson did not wash up on shore, to me it would have decreased the impact of the significant role Wilson played.

All the scenes done without dialogue were excellent. You could here a pin drop in the theatre. Tom does a great job at telling a story without words. The shoe scene was FUNNY.. I think it was meant to be funny. Kind of makes you not want to take off your shoes in an airplane, which goes against Bruce Willis' theory about dealing jetlag (DIEHARD)

Overall a great movie and while I wasn't knocked out of socks about the ending I did appreciate the "realness" of it. The movie is worth the time spent... and finally it may be just me but I am not to sure I would be ready for another airplane that quick after what happened. But again, that's just my opinion.
