Not the best ep but no one iv talked to has picked up on this line and i nearly wet myself laughing so i had to drop it here!
Charles Boyle: "I blame myself. Its such a classic Boyle trait not to recognise talent. My cousin Susan didnt know she could sing until she was in her late 40s"
😂😂😂 I wonder how long they have been sitting on that joke for 🤣

This is by far the worst episode of the series. I didn't laugh a second. I gave it a 5 because of my love for B99, but seriously, what was that? And I was actually looking forward to see Gina come back. Season 6 has been really good so far, I just wish that they had not shot this episode at all.
Why did they bring Gina back?

I honestly thought we were free of the weakest link. This was easily the worst episode of the whole season. The proof is clear, it was centred around Gina and the other story lines were too silly. Rosa not being able to use her hands, that's not the best. Gina is clearly a very annoying character. Her selfishness is not funny but just gets under your skin. I wish they'd cut an episode, would have been happier instead of this terrible space filler.
Set to fail?

Queen Gina came back once again to reep havoc in b99 I was overjoyed for my fave b99 character to return but the idea of her fame frustrated me she should have had a normal job... Its a shame Melissa wa sgiven a bad episode to start directing with
I feel sorry for Chelsea Peretti...

This was not the Gina from the first few seasons . Somewhere along the lines the writers made her completely self absorbed and unbearable to watch. It's sad, because her character in the beginning was at least friendly with the rest of the crew and she was more of a problem solver when needed. Now it's a one note arc where she just plain sucks. Unfortunately, this character has been ruined.
Oh hell no! Be gone Gina

Gina is annoying but that's the point

Gina is meant to over play who she is and the annoying self-delusion she always had. It's a logical satirical conclusion that her character goes on to be a guru.... Her overwhelming self-belief which is even in this episode not questioned by the Nine-None squad leads her to unimaginable success.
In some ways, she is maybe even TheRealDonaldTrump.
Well directed Melissa Fumero (Amy).
The knife in the back was beautiful.
Yes, her character is annoying. But that doesn't make her not funny; just funny on a different level.
And seriously... Plots not coming together? Not sure I agree, but even so, what's not to love?

In case you forgot why Gina was so ill-recieved

I don't get it, why bringing back such a divisive character if you plan to show her most widely disliked characteristics? Most of her latest appearances were all about her doing something questionable if not despicable but then alway proving she was right (and that was annoying enough), in this one they didn't even bother to prove anything. "I am a bad friend? Sorry but not sorry and oh look I was stabbed so we cool". Seriously? Is this how you wrap such a controversial character up? Why even bother?
As for the subplots, nope. The Boyle/Holt one is incredibly derivative and the Diaz/Santiago one doesn't even count as a subplot, more of a running gag during the episode.
I'm seriously in love with the show but this thing hurts.

This is worse than episode 8, I'm glad Gina is gone

Episode 8 didn't bother me so much, bc I believed in the underlying message, the execution just lacked any subtly the show has had tackling other issues. But this episode really shows how annoying Gina has gotten.
She was funny in the first few seasons (except when she sexually harrased Terry) bc she still acted like a person. But now she's just this living meme and really annoying and selfish and this episode exemplifies that.

This is not the gina we know....

The gina we know is crazy but always caring about the 99... she was sarcastic about herself but in this episode she takes herself and her fame too seriously... so why did the creators decide to let gina return in this way... of course she did a better job than that forced character debbie, but that is not difficult...
Gina returns to ruin another episode

Just when you think you've finally gotten rid of the worst character on this show, she returns to become the focus of yet another horrible episode.
Bad enough as a minor character, Gina as the main character always results in a sub-par episode. Annoying is not necessarily amusing.

I guess the writers are doing a fan(millenials) service by bringing in Gina for another episode (rolling eyes). The scenes with Holt were the only saving grace and even they were not enough to save it with some over the top thinking. Brooklyn nine nine is never about being over the top. They do the over the top plot or writing for the comedic chops. This season could have done without this episode.

Okay so i've seen this episode has the lowest rating of the episodes, and i'm inclined to agree, whilst i feel the actors do their jobs to the usual degree of great, the problem lies in one problematic character, Gina Lineti.
I can safely say that for the first few seasons she was funny, but i feel at some point the jokes just dried up with her, i didn't mind how she was flirting with Terry, as she never went any further but that said it was still annoying and distracting as he's been set up as a family man, but by the time she was told to remove the space heater i think it became too apparent the writers had gone off the deep end with her, she went from Annoying but funny to annoying and unlikable, she began to treat people like dirt or that she was always excerpt from the rules, case in point the space heater, or how she refused to do her work even when it was vital, insulting everyone and proceeded to play up her own vanity, along with constantly antagonising her oldest friends girlfriends/fiance/wife, I didn't miss her absence in Season 5 and when she left in Season 6 they chose to cut her ties with the other characters, her and Boyle were no longer related (Via their parents divorcing) but forgetting that her child is Boyles nephew, and then have her leave, which i felt was a great choice.
with her return to this episode it feels that they've dived deeper into her vanity, she has inspired people to essentially ruin their lives, and is appealing to a crowd of people who religiously follower people only famous VIA social media, basically she has become someone who list their job as "Influencer", and even when she trys to be nice it feels forced, she only contacts her friends when she wants help, and the reason this isn't a single star? two reasons, Jake and Terry rightly tell her off for her actions, and the second a much more petty reason Gina got stabbed in the shoulder, that was enough to get a second star.
the B and C plots revolve around Holt thinking Nikolaj is a genius before realising it was luck and admitting to Boyle that he's a good dad, nothing harmful so i won't comment further, and then we have Rosa with bandaged hands, this i think was the best of the three plots as the message was somewhat inspiring if conflicting, first they say the message of, sometimes you may need help, and then they go with, you don't need to let any handicap get you down, both of which i find sweet and more entertaining than the Garbage A plot that was this overall dumpster fire of an episode.
