Other Gang ? Say what ?
scottkursch16 June 2019
Hey I know this isn't a forum format, but this clarification may still be helpful for review purposes. What non-Hispanic "other gang members " are being referred to ? I've watched every episode and can't narrow down who you are inquiring about.

You mentioned "with the girl". There is Mia, who is part of "Lil Pete's" gang and no new "non-Hispanic" characters have been introduced there. There's "Frankie", who is working with Craig primarily and the Cody's. No additional new gang involved. Then there's "Young Smurf" who is flashing back 30 years (give or take) to her first gang with Colin, Jake, and those dudes. Colin and Jake are not Hispanic. Is that who you are thinking of ? That is a "flashback". Smurf remembering her younger days, as she is confronted with her mortality in the present-day. The only other "girl" character in play is "Angela", Jay's mother Julia's, old friend who was in prison. She currently has no gang affiliation.

So, I'm a bit confused about this "review question" and can't seem to make proper sense of the character referrals. Can the poster clarify who the girl in question is and be more specific ? My OCD won't let it go. Thanks !

Craig the idea man

Animal Kingdom has been an up and down ride so far, and an enjoyable one. The most enjoyable thing from this episode was seeing Craig in action again. He did really well with his catering gig recon, and now he seems to have again found a bit of momentary genius in finding a way to move a seemingly immovable target. No spoilers!

There have been a number of other reviews that have similarly voiced displeasure at his character, his many screw ups, his rather unethical decisions and how he was not a real contributor to the family in any tangible way for quite a few episodes. It is great to see him finally having another moment in the sun where he is able to solve problems rather than create them.

We seen more backstory of Janine in the 70s which affirms her reckless devil may care spirit hanging around her group of criminal veterans. Her screen time is limited, but she does get some news regarding her recent MRI.

We also learn more about Angela who just popped out of nowhere a few episodes ago. Despite her past, she seems sincere to turn her life around, while it is interesting to see if there is something developing between her and Pope perhaps.

There's some friction between J and Mia. Mia's role and her extended circumstances are not clearly defined, so it is up to the view to try to understand what is happening there as I am as confused as the other reviewers for this episode as to what her actual deal is. I hope for all the fans sake it does get explained eventually.

Meanwhile the boys are trying to keep Pope off a ledge by finding him some busy work with some pretty hilarious results while trying to plan the next job without Pope knowing he is not in this time around.

By now the show is showing some real cohesion of characters that is fun to see, especially the way the characters can quip so easily with on another. I liked this episode and hope the rest of the season is as great! 9/10.

Man vs. Rock

Warning: Spoilers
Keeping Frankie into this season was a mistake, but as long as her presence is somewhat limited I guess it could have been worse.

Is there a point to all of these flashback scenes? I guess we have to wait and see.

Should have been excellent

VERY frustrating. Given the content of this episode it SHOULD have been tight, interesting and fun. Instead it was boring, strung out and tedious.

And Pope was horrible. The most menacing character in the series and he's stiff and boring.

Direction.

The direction for this episode sucked very very very much. Spoiling an interesting and entertaining series.

Annoying.

Boring

I was a big fan of the previous seasons, but some episodes of this season are extremely slow and/or boring. Hopefully it will get better as it was.

Other Gang

Who are these other gang members with the girl? Not the Hispanic ones the others. And why hasn't this been addressed before the 3rd show?
