Slightly anticlimactic

Warning: Spoilers
Not bad, but the end for a certain character here comes as a disappointment; I was hoping for more action and intensity but what transpires is almost an anticlimax.

Episode 205

There was at least a little bit of action int his episode, but this season's stories are just so bad that it is hard to get invested even in the scenes that should be fun.

Convergence of Events
lavatch12 November 2019
Warning: Spoilers
In this episode, the many different plot strands begin to coalesce, and they culminate in a thrilling concluding scene in Egham, England.

The "blue gold" of the episode's title is the precious resource of tantalum ore, and it was also the source of the disappearance of Gloria's husband Sergio. Greer has discovered a link to the Volger corporation in the desire to mine the precious mineral.

Matice is leading the small band to try to recover Uber from the jungle. While Mike November authorizes a rescue mission, the forces loyal to Reyes are tracking the Americans. Who will arrive first to either rescue or murder the band of brothers?

Mike November approaches Ubarri with a deal for asylum in Miami if he will reveal the details about the assassination of Senator Jimmy Moreno and the extent of involvement of Reyes.

Things come to a head in London, as Dr. Jack is hot on the trail of Max Schenkel. Harry avoids deportation to Germany when Max kills the man who was escorting her to the airport. Harry reveals to Dr. Jack that Max has a daughter attending King Edward University. The daughter does not suspect that her father is a killer for hire.

All roads lead to Egham as Dr. Jack holds sweet little Annabelle captive until Max arrives. But Max will not conclusively reveal whether or not Reyes hired him to kill Senator Morena. Max is about to get the drop on Dr. Jack when he is plugged by Harry, who has followed him to Egham. Mad Max the assassin expires, leaving Dr. Jack still uncertain of who ordered the hit on his old buddy Jimmy.

London scenes

Great to see this episode filmed in London and Egham but the goof is the Liverpool st station route to Egham as the train would leave from Waterloo station in real life

Thrills and twist.
cruise0124 November 2019
4 out of 5 stars.

Another thrilling episode. Did not see the twist with Noomi Rapace. The episode continues with Jack trying to find and get info from the assassin.

Watch 3.40.

You will notice something that not suppose to be there. Someone wiping his hands in the background during the recording of the set and the director didn't noticed that at all.

Jack Ryan faces the Terminator and is saved by a zombie
killer-1225 April 2020
Warning: Spoilers
An episode of wonders! The baddie killer Max loses an eye and never bats an eyelid (bad pun intended), running around rooftops with the confidence and grace of an Olympic gymnast! The mysterious Harry gets shot in the abdomen and the foot while in London but manages to show up in the nick of time at Egham 22 miles / 30 kilometers away to save the day! The brilliant analyst Jack trustingly faces Max, the indestructible assassin who has been after him, fully exposed and is caught off guard when Max shoots him! The elite commando Marcus is surprised and disarmed by a 10-year old boy who just happens to be wandering in the jungle! The writing of this episode is so appalingly sloppy and far-fetched that it may have killed Season 2 for me - I do not have the amazing resilience of Max and Harry, nor the naivete of Jack and Marcus...

Big Improvement Needed
ian_maddog7910 November 2019
First season was fantastic...second season somewhat poor so far! Feeling too much like Harrison Fords Clear and Present Danger...eg friend of Ryan's killed in car ambush, US Special Forces troops bring tracked in the jungle...nothing major happening!

This episode is too much
michael100011 November 2019
Warning: Spoilers
This episode and season is just too far fetched. I get this is all make believe but it's too much. The bar scene hilarious, the ex German operative just goes around London finds her MI-5 friend who spills his guts to Ryan. Then the 3 end up in some CEOs office again spilling his guts.

Go Find AnnaBelle!!!!!! ......
wandernn1-81-68327430 July 2020
So here we go for some more....

Jack James Bond Ryan goes off in pursuit of Max. Finding him in London.

Dragon Tattoo Girl shows up and fun and game ensue.

Max is really one of the better characters so far this season and..... I won't say any more about that.

Gloria goes all out and paints a big target on her back. She better be cruising around in a PopeMobile is what I recommend.

Nothing happens in this that rate bonus stars from Average.

In fact the end of the episode gets a big -1 Star.

Again, 4/10

i have a depth perception problem
sandcrab2772 November 2019
The german agent max schenkel has been running around with one eyeball yet he never misses a beat or misjudges anything ... i find this highly improbable if not impossible ... at one point he even scoots across roof tops without making a mistake ... the whole plot is incredibly lame but stupid ... the alleged blue gold is found in numerous countries and not in china or venezuela at all ... no fact checking by the writers at all or they have to fake something to make it work

One eyed max
pop_pop5019 November 2019
I damaged my right eye when i fainted and smashed my eye on the edge of a night stand...i am blind in that eye for life...now that was two years ago and i have adjusted after two eye surgeries..due to eye pressure i had the most severe headaches you could have..i wanted to smash my head against the wall..the headaches are gone now after my second eye surgery so what i am saying max the assassin should be incompacitated with wild headaches and a lost sense of perception...he does not look like he has seen a doctor.

American English doesn't translate that well to English
feyipuk13 November 2019
There are little things in this series that just takes the sheen off Tom Clancys legacy and just increases that sense of dumbing it down for American audiences, when the series is already a simple join the dots. Why do American Police forces need to identify which city they come from? If you're in New York or San Fransico, saying "NYPD" or "SFPD" rather than just Police may be quicker, but would you ignore them if they just shouted "Police". Shouting "London Police", while stood in London, just seems redundant.

Same with "Midterms". Tom Clancy was an expert at deciphering tech speak - which is sadly missed in this series - but I had to pause the episode to find out what they were, and why a student at an English school wouldn't just say after their exams?

Of course the British Intelligence officer has the code name "Mother", as though he should be in a wheel chair, directing Steed and Mrs Peel, who probably would have done a better job in this situation. And the producers have already spoiled the episode in the trailer for the series, with the roof top jump into an unusually quiet Thames.

This all detracts from the main story in Venezuela. Cristina Umaña shines as the opposition leader, as we get more connections about what might be going on in the jungle through both conversations and the feet on the ground that Clancy style stories require. Tom Wlaschiha, as the one eyed assassin, gives an amazing example for people who can't make it into work because they feel a little under the weather. Frankly, the characters in this series are all pretty indestructible; up until it makes sense that they are expendable and then they just go down! It still has a way to go to get to the inevitable conclusion, but it is beginning to look pretty obvious where it's all going.

Just nevermind travel time...
otcubaris27 December 2022
Warning: Spoilers
SPOILER ALERT!

How does she ends up appearing right behind Max to kill him after he shot him hours ago and he just made it to King Edwards moments before the scene... That just threw me off way too much i think this was just lazy writing. Also we all suspect who actually controls stuff but why did Max gave away information before his death. There is nothing left from the decently written plot from season 1. At this point why not make jake ryan superman already with that big plot armor behind his back. We all know the guy will never die but at least give us decent villians that are not monkeys and a decent ending to them not shot from behind.

Get the station right
lcr_green13 November 2019
Simple facts like getting the train station correct that goes from London to Egham.... just sloppy. Not nearly as good as Season 1. It's Waterloo not Liverpool St
