A wholly satisfying episode

This was hands down a great episode and a great tease for the next episode. I say it's my favourite episode of this season so far even though at the time of me writing this review, the next episode hasn't aired yet. And I am looking forward to next week's mid-season finale as that looks like it will be a pretty big event for the show.

But this episode "Kindred" introduced us to fan-favourite Ruhk, Thrawn's assassin, and he was awesome in this episode and I can't wait to see how well they will do his character in the later episodes. Warwick Davis does incredible voice-work for this character and the action sequences are always fun to watch in Star Wars Rebels as they are very well shot and very entertaining.

But the true fan service comes here in this episode, where they finally make Kanan and Hera embrace and kiss for the first time on the show, and it's about time! It was a great scene and very touching to see their love story after all that's happened on this show.

I give this an 8/10, I enjoyed every second of this episode, I enjoyed the loth wolves as well and we better get some answers to them and what they have to do with the overall story. As it stands, I loved this episode and I can't wait to see how they wrap this story up.

The most interesting part of this universe has always been the mystical aspects, and with the last episode, the loth-wolves became some of the most intriguing beings in "Star Wars." This week, that was expanded on, and the things that we got were great. Their connection to the Force is so interesting, and it is kinda sad that we haven't been introduced to them before this, but it's also a cool way to bring the show to the end. The other part of the episode was the introduction of Rukh, a canon character who made his first animated appearance here, and he was pretty awesome. Very clever, despite his primitive status, and probably more competent than a lot of the other Imperial officers. The action sequences were good, but it felt like they cheated themselves for a big awesome sequence at the end of the episode, which isn't that bad, but a little disappointing taking the great feel of the episode into consideration. This provided some great moments for the show, and I hope that the next few episodes can keep the momentum going before we reach the finale in a few episodes.

Dances With Wolves

The Empire pursues our heroes on Lothal and Thrawn sends sinister agent Rukh to capture them.

The mystical aspects of Loth-wolves interacting with Ezra and Kanan is very interesting and fascinating.

Rukh is a pretty cool character and gets a decent introduction.

There is some good action and some thought provoking story elements which suggest a building storyline involving the destiny of Ezra and Kanan.

My rating: 8/10.

Another really solid entry in Season 4.

I did not initially know Rukh would make an appearance on screen. That was really cool. It'll be interesting to see what happens with his character, given the way things ended between him and Thrawn on Zahn's original sequel trilogy. Warwick did a great job with the voice work. Very excited for more of him.

I also loved all of the Loth Wolf stuff. I have no clue what's going to happen there, but I'm anxious and excited for what this all means for Kanan and Ezra both.

Another great episode with consistent pacing and character work.
