The big shock before this episode even aired was that star, Peter Kay announced that this would be the last episode ever of the show.

It makes the ending that little bit more poignant (not that it wasn't sad enough) as things for John and Kayleigh don't end up quite the way that millions of viewers wanted it too.

There are some lovely moments across this episode though, and as ever some great visual jokes that you only catch on second viewing too.

I really do hope that the fan petitions and the obvious affection for the show tempt Kay and co to get back in the car for a one off special at some point in the future.

Car Share Last Episode

Car Share was never that courageous or groundbreaking or even provider of belly laughs, but it was a special show that took a simple concept like driving and made it emotional and humorous journey. I'm going to miss Forever FM and I am glad they gave us John and Kayleigh sharing a fantasy world moment, even if it was just a dream.
