a good ending- so let it end
juyayay30 May 2018
Warning: Spoilers
I really liked this show. And this last episode was quite good almost until the end. They have made a terrible decision to kill off the central character of the show; but since he is dead, so is the show. Why continue? as a viewer I certainly will not. It would have been better to let the character go off to Texas to live in peace. Very bad decision by the producers.

Great Series Finale
nelson-r-haka21 May 2018
Warning: Spoilers
I can't really put into exact words how I completely feel about this episode, and this show. I guess I'm mad. Mad that I spent 40 episodes, hoping that this character that I love is going to get better, get sober, be happy. Then when he finally becomes happy, and ready to move on and is the best version of himself since his wife's death, he gets killed. I understand that the charter had to end since Clayne was let go from the show, but to do it like that felt dirty and wrong. But there you go, there is my conflict. It was a good ending, and good show, because it drew so much emotion out of me, got me so attached that when I watched him get shot, I felt so hurt. I felt the pain. Which is what shows pray to achieve, that attachment. Unlucky for Fox, Clayne was the reason I watched the show, I just loved him. Season 2 will be my final season watching the show, which is a bummer because I like Sean William Scott, but he isn't Riggs. Bravo to Fox for putting on 2 seasons of a wonderful show... you had the chemistry and cast for a 10+ season series, but I just don't see it lasting even half way through the 3rd. Thanks for the memories Riggs, you saved my life too.

Warning: Spoilers
If Riggs ( Clayne Crawford)is killed off it's a serious death knell for this show. Best show ever in the last few years and they kill it. Nobody can or will replace Riggs.

Spectacular End
djcatalin-1472511 May 2018
Warning: Spoilers
This show dies for me with 'death' of Riggs (fired from the show). My point is that the show was perfect for me, loved it so much that i would rewatch it again, and i will, but killing Riggs just because they fired him is awfully sad, though was an impressive story in 2 seasons, but is jut a heart breaking closure.Living your happy life, then living a nightmare, and just after you find courage to come out of it, some douche kills you, don't get me wrong, i really liked this, but not with the real reason for why they killed Riggs. Coming to the fact that Clayne Crawford was fired, is just a 'piece of cake', i can't , i just can't accept another face for Martin Riggs role with or without his 'toxic behavior', if this happens, i will stick with this closure and end the show with this episode. For me wasn't just show that i'll watch for fun, was something touching, you can't replace feelings. There will be a chance to rewatch, now i might be mad, but i like the other characters too.

Lethal Ending
esenmau26 September 2018
As an outsider...I just watch the shows...I don't know what goes on behind the scenes...I'm just sad at the end of the character of Riggs. He was the lethal weapon...back in the eighties martial arts movies were just starting to get noticed by the general viewing public...before that there was Bruce Lee's "Enter The Dragon" and other similar films...lethal weapon brought it to the fore...perhaps they'll make another film with Mel and Danny...to make a better ending hopefully than the series did...until then...sigh...

BIG MISTAKE!! HUGE MISTAKE!! Warning: Spoilers
I probably WON'T watch next season with RIGGS GONE!! And I LOVE Damon Wayans, since In LIVING COLOR...But FOX screwedup, & maybe Mr. Wayans, & Clayne Crawford should have had mediation...or at least tried to get the two parties together...Very SAD & DISSAPOINTING!!

Why?
aplayerofgames7 July 2018
Warning: Spoilers
Seriously what was the point of that. Smacks of childish oneupmanship. Really no need to kill off the main character even if the show was writing him out.

Poor. Very poor.

Fox Made a Horrible Decision
domosaurusrex14 May 2018
This episode was absolutely fantastic, but after learning of the fact that Clayne Crawford was fired, I would just like to say that the ratings for the show will quickly deteriorate and it will be cancelled after season 3. Clayne literally made the entire show with his perfect portrayal of Riggs. Without him, the show will just be an unfunny buddy cop show. According to multiple sources, Damon Wayans had a hand in the firing of Clayne because he mistook Crawford's legitimate passion for acting as "unsafe behavior." Fox has made a terrible mistake and this will result in the end of the show.

Tough to rate this episode
Elara8917 October 2023
Warning: Spoilers
On one hand, this is a great episode, on the other, it is the worst episode ever. I enjoyed the interaction between Damon and Clayne, hate or love, they played off each other really well. This made the show work and made this episode great.

Now, if the actors really couldn't get along, couldn't find a way to be professional and move past differences, okay, end the series. Simple as that, especially when Lethal Weapon is 100% about Riggs and Murtaugh, not Murtaugh and whoever comes along. I'd feel the same if they fired Damon, making it Riggs and whoever comes along. It didn't work.

This is nothing against Seann William Scott, he was not the problem. Them trying to make Cole basically Riggs, but not Riggs, was the problem. It just didn't work.

As for the way they ended this episode, as others have stated, they gave Riggs his happy ending, finally he was moving on from his wife's murder, finally he found, and accepted, love again. If this was to be his last episode, this was the way to send him off, but no. They had to be spiteful. That is what the ending felt like to me, which was before I knew Clayne Crawford had been fired, it felt like someone wanted to really get back at him for something. After searching, I found out why, and that my feeling was spot on.

I have watched the last season, it was okay, but honestly? They should have simply ended the series when they fired Clayne.

There's a right way to drop a character and a wrong way - they went the wrong way.
Icelander6726 October 2018
Seriously, the least damaging way a tv show can drop an essential character (which we all knew was coming) is by making it happen story wise in as UPBEAT way as possible. Whereas the worst way is... well, the worst way is pretty much to go do it precisely the way they did it: Make us _think_ he's leaving on a high note, right until the very last seconds where they take it all away from you and end on the most DOWNBEAT note possible!! That's not plain stupid business planning, that's downright cruel. All this is going to do is make the viewers miss him MORE, make them be LESS accepting of his departure and consequently less likely to carry on watching than they were already. Just how stupid can a TV network get that they fail so miserably to grasp this simple thing?!

Furthermore, the ending, within the context of the events of the rest of the episode, made no sense whatsoever. It made absolutely no sense that it would be that person who would somehow magically turn up at that place out of nowhere to finish "him" off for no discernible reasons at all. Nor did it make any sense that "he" would just stand there like the easiest target practice cardboard imaginable, without even trying to neither flee nor put up any sorts of defence. This whole debacle of an ending reeks of nothing but a very desperate "Need to make absolutely sure no one thinks he's coming back", as if anyone who's been seriously following this show didn't already know. They didn't even try make transition easier on us, so I see no reason why I should give their future seasons anything either. My two star rating go to the actor who got dumped, for still managing to resist phoning it in on his last appearance, and still do a stellar performance throughout, which I'm sure can't have been easy. A true pro in my book right there, regardless of what the tabloids may want us to believe.

Oh, and I feel almost sorry for the poor sucker that's going to step in next season, he's going to be so hated by the _former_ fans of this show - I hate him already!

Y'all blew it
bajaharley2 October 2018
I don't know why they fought so much and I don't care, it's about the viewers not themselves. They work for us not the other way around. That's the problem with actors, athletes, etc. they make a huge amount of money which goes straight to their head and forget who paid them, that's right the common people that pay to see their movies, to watch them play, etc. To take Riggs (Clayne Crawford) out is a huge mistake, he is the show, I absolutely will not watch without him. I guarantee there will be a huge amount of viewers that will not be tuning in. Sounds like someone was just a little to spoiled to make it work with him.

Reviewed the episode a 10, review Season 3 a ZERO

Warning: Spoilers
This was one of my favorite shows. Operative word: WAS. Without Clayne Crawford (THE Lethal Weapon) I won't watch it - ever again. I never liked Wayans as Murtaugh anyway. He's a caricature of the character. May I suggest you take Clayne's photo off the IMDB Lethal Weapon header. It's insulting. I also suggest you rename the show 'Lethal-ish Weapon.' It will never be the same. I STAND WITH CLAYNE.

Not Lethal without Martin Riggs
kerriganmike28 September 2018
I have been an Avid Fan of the Lethal Weapon Movies forever and enjoyed the TV Series up until now! You cannot have a show called Lethal Weapon without Martin Riggs who is what the Franchise is all about. This is now just a low grade LAPD TV show 7 hate to say it but cringe worthy. Certainly will not watch again!

Should of been Wayans
amyjohnson5959 October 2018
Warning: Spoilers
Clayne made this show. He was the one everybody loved. He was Riggs. I wish they had replaced Murtaugh. Wayans is the same character in everything. He got Clayne fired, then decided to quit himself. You suck Damon.

W T F?
wave_one9 January 2023
Warning: Spoilers
It is the beginning of 2023 and we've just found this show.

It started ok-ish and got better with every episode.

By far the best character and the main reason to watch the show was... you've guessed it... to see him grow and after so many years of hardship and struggles, finally had the chance to ride into the sunset and get his more then deserved happy ending would have had made his arc perfect...

This ending ruined the whole show... out of nowhere, in the middle of nowhere....

Well.. that hurts... deeply...

HE and his arc was THE show... killing him off this way ruined it and we will not continue to watch it...

The Beginning of the End
Shellser1717 August 2021
Warning: Spoilers
I liked this episode in the beginning, until it got closer to the end. Then I realized this was related to the news about the firing of the Martin Rigg's actor; Clayne Crawford. Basically I feel this episode was a public shaming of the actor. Riggs wanted to move on with his life in the series with Molly, but in the end he was just killed off abruptly. Very depressing and this basically is what ended the show.

What a gut punch
verkappter2 August 2021
The last 3 or 4 minutes of this episode ruined the whole show for me and it was quite an emotional gut punch.

If you like this show, do yourself a favor and turn this episode off after the party scene.

Yes, sad that it went like this. But keep this in mind...Murtaughs new partner, Cole in season 3 is played by THE best actor. Seann William Scott.
