There was nothing Earth-shattering about this premise, but it was the show in its element: its absolute nerdy self. That's the reason it developed such a large fanbase. A lot of jokes didn't work, but there were still some good laughs. The point is that Bang works when it is simple, and this was a simple, but effective episode.

Dull Domestic Comedy

The whole point of this episode is to be up front with your thoughts. When the boys want to go to Comic-Con, they feel the need to please the women in their lives. The women have no interest but can't be honest with the guys. This could have been an episode of the Honeymooners 80 years ago.
