Warning: Spoilers
This Wrestlemania probably had the best card in Wrestlemania history however failed to Live up to its expectations. The Ronda Rousey match was the best, followed by the triple threat and Asuka vs Charlotte. Rest of all the matches were disappointing. Cena vs Undertaker was never really promoted but it was still better than AJ Styles vs Nakamura which was going to be the show stealer. And Brock Vs Roman match was just finishers and blood.

Had its good moments (discussed) like always!
MuviFan7310 April 2018
Warning: Spoilers
Wrestlemania 34... factors those attracted my attention. Although to be specific, I expected better show.

Both the Japanese variants that paved their way through Royal Rumble lost. Asuka and Shinsuke lost. It came to me as surprize. Another win that came down to me as surprize was of Jindar Mahal for united states champion. I enjoyed it, although it takes continous of such performance's to gain respect.

Ronda Rousey, an American olympic gold medalist along with Kurt Angle (another gold medalist) won (safe to say - against dictators), what a debut.

Cena vs undertaker, the match I thought was given up easily by our champ, yes the one who instructs us to never give up. Cena lately has been doing a lot may be because of what audience wants.

Nia Jax vs Alexa: A well earned victory by Nia. Unlike other sports there is no division or categories like factor such as weight in WWE. Yet, I believe every category in that regards, has its ups and downs, so nothing much to bother.

Last but not the least the match for which we (atleast I) waited so long, Brock Lesnar vs Roman Reigns. In the past we have seen Roman defeating Cena and Cena defeating Brock. Thus I felt Roman had extremely good chance, but like I mentioned earlier may be cena was not cent percent along those selected matches. Brock dominated with his raining surplex's and F5's. Brock won. Brock being my favorite, I enjoyed that match the most.

WrestleMania 34 didn't quite make the good times roll! It was a mixed bag of gumbo for me.
ironhorse_iv5 February 2019
Warning: Spoilers
Let's start with the preshow. In the fifth annual Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal, while the right man won the match, the contest was somewhat forgettable. Still, it was nice to see a decent new tag team, come from it. Anyways, this brings us to the tournament final for the vacant Cruiserweight Championship between Cedric Alexander and Mustafa Ali. The match was disappointing, as it was highly rushed. Plus, it was probably not a good idea to copy the finish to Ric Flair Versus Shawn Michaels from 2008's 'WrestleMania 24'. It was really jarring. Anyways, the WrestleMania Women's Battle Royal was next & thank goodness, they change the name. Moolah was indeed, not a good person with her sex trafficking. However, they should had thought of another old timey female wrestler to give tribute. Regardless, the choice of participants for this match was still bizarre has WWE didn't have enough main show female talents. So they fill it up with the misused big names and NXT extras. Still, the contest was a lot more entertaining match than the Men's. Nevertheless, the men's fought back, as the actual show opened with The Miz having to defend his Intercontinental Championship against Seth Rollins and Finn Balor in a triple threat match. Without spoiling it, there was great wrestling from all of them. Good contest. The next match between Champion Charlotte Flair & challenger, Asuka was also amazing. Both women work their ass off. To top it off, the entrance nod to Charlotte's appearance in 2014's 'WrestleMania 30' was epic. The climax to the match was also shocking. I get why they did it. That gimmick would had become very tiresome and highly predictable as the months goes on. Better to strike, when the iron is hot, I say. The only nitpick, I had, about the match, was the aftermath. They didn't give the women, enough time to thank the crowd, before WWE move onto the next sequence. It was horribly done. Anyways, that brings us to the fatal four-way match for the United States between champion, Randy Orton & challengers, Bobby Roode, Jinder Mahal, and Rusev. It was highly generic as nobody put that much effect into the feud. Not memorable at all. Next up, was the mixed tag team match between Triple H & Stephanie McMahon versus Kurt Angle & Ronda Rousey. The build up to the contest was awkward, as the foundations for it, was over 3 years ago. This match should had happen at 2016, however, both Dwayne 'the Rock' Johnson and Rousey had scheduling problems, so it was push back way back, until tonight. Nevertheless, Johnson still couldn't make it, so he was replaced by the very old & limited Angle, 3 months prior. In the end, the match was still entertaining as Rousey show the world, that she indeed could wrestle. Just wish, she didn't adjust her outfit so much. Seeing Hunter calling out, 'spots', really loud to Angle was quite annoying as well. Anyways, the next fight, saw the Usos (Jey and Jimmy Uso) having to defend their SmackDown Tag Team Championship against The New Day's (Big E and Kofi Kingston) and The Bludgeon Brothers (Harper and Rowan) in a quick & brutal, forgettable triple threat tag team match. It was not good. I also didn't like the impromptu bout that follow this, between Cena and Undertaker. Taker is really past his prime & can't barely move, while Cena can't take that much bumps as he has one foot, out to Hollywood. It was embarrassing to watch. Both could had done, so much better. Thank goodness, the next tag match live up to the hype. Seeing Daniel Bryan being able to wrestle with Shane McMahon, after being force to retired due to multiple concussions, was out of this world amazing! It was also nice to see Shane being able to wrestle, coming out of a recent life-threating stomach injury. Unlike, other critics, I love the feud, they had with Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens. The ring work from all four of them was also very impressive, despite how it was slowly told. It's still one of my favorite matches of the night. The Raw Women's Championship match between challenger, Nia Jax & champion, Alexa Bliss was next. Once again, I have to disagree with majority of critics, as I didn't like the buildup storyline to this meh contest. I thought the body shaming angle has been overdone. As for the hype for the WWE Championship fight between champion, AJ Styles & challenger, Shinsuke Nakamura, I love the teases. As for the bout. It was not as good as any of their previous NJPW matches, but regardless, this contest was outstanding enough to tune in. However, it's what happen, after the match; that was the highlight. Tag team match for the Raw Tag Team Championship was next. While, Braun Strowman choosing a child as his tag partner to face the champions, the Bar (Sheamus & Cesaro) made the titles seem like a joke. That jump the shark sequence was entertaining. I can't hate it, too much. At least, it wasn't awful like the main event between Roman Reigns challenging Universal Championship titleholder, Brock Lesnar. It was an exhausting match that nobody asked for it. Even so, it had no in-ring story, as both wrestlers didn't bother working it out. It was all over the top. So ill-fitting. As for the ending, money & politics got in the way. No wonder, why Brock tossed the title at Vince McMahon. His match was a crap staid, on otherwise, decent show. In the end, you might have to drown yourself with a bottle of Bourbon, when you choose to watch this 7 hours PPV. Parts of the event at the Superdome in New Orleans were very, very annoying. Others sequences, were decent enough to watch. However, overall, it's not the grandest stage of them, all. Not in the long shot. It could had been better.

Average Wrestling and Bad Booking.
Movie-ManDan10 April 2018
Warning: Spoilers
WrestleMania. The show of shows. The greatest night in entertainment. The night when everybody is supposed to deliver their all. Unfortunately, it did not.

I am very easy to please with what WWE does. In this case, I reacted almost as bad as someone who loves NJPW.

Right away, the show (including the kick-off show) equalled 7 hours. So much exhaustion and burnout can happen in even a shorter span. I know WWE wants Mania to stand out as more epic and more important, but it should be much shorter like in years before. Because of its length, fans were burnt out which diminished the qualities of some of the matches. I will always voice this complain until changes are made!

First off was the Andre the Giant battle royal. I am a sucker for battle royals and Bray returning to align with winner "Woken" Matt was cool, but this wasn't as great as I was expecting. But good nonetheless. 7.5/0

Next was Mustafa Ali against Cedric Alexander for the vacant cruiserweight championship. The long lasting tournament had better matches in it than this. Seemed more like a decent match on 205 Live. Cedric won and rightfully so. 7/10

Last of the pre-show was the Women's battle royal. A little dull like the men's but the booking was bad. Naomi hasn't been seen in almost the whole match and returns at the very end to win? Makes no sense. 6.5/10

First on the main card was Miz defending the intercontinental title against Finn Balor and Seth Rollins. I really, really wanted Finn to come out in his demon paint (it's wrestlemania for god's sakes!) but the match was pretty good. Seth won and is now a grand slam champion. 8/10

Smackdown women's champion Charlotte goes against the unbeatable Asuka. Asuka was the winner of the first women's royal rumble and jobs out to Ric Flair's daughter. Made no sense. It pissed me off. Not that Asuka's monumental streak came to an end or that it was Charlotte that did it, the rumble suddenly became irrelevant and Charlotte has nothing to gain out of it. Why not hand it to a diva who needs a revival or an NXT girl? This good match sunk because of the booking. 6.5/10

Next was for the US title. Jinder Mahal bested Randy Orton, Bobby Roode and Rusev. Although I do think Jinder's hatred by people is a bit much, I do agree he was not a good pick. Why doesn't WWE just admit their Jinder experiment flopped? Anyway, the match was good. 7/10

"Rowdy" Ronda Rousey makes her WWE in-ring debut in a mixed-tag team match with Kurt Angle against Triple H and Stephanie McMahon. Two REAL fighters against a one-match-a-year wrestler (Triple H) and a BUSINESSWOMAN (Stephanie, the boss's daughter!) did not jell together very well in my book. I've never been one for mixed tag team matches, but this was different. Since WWE does not do inter gender matches, they usually try to treat mixed tag team bouts like two matches in one. But this seemed like they wanted to make it a normal tag team bout. Ronda did shine, but I blame Hunter and Stephanie for the match not being as good as the others. 6.5/10

For the Smackdown tag team titles, Usos went up against New Day and Bludgeon Brothers. Before the match even started, New Day came out with little people in pancake outfits. The idea was for laughs. It was downright offensive! Just goes to show WWE's hypocrisy with bullying. Bludgeon brothers won in a short squash match. I don't mind squash matches, but a triple threat tag team?? 5/10

Undertaker finally accepts John Cena's challenge. Throughout the night, the camera kept cutting over to reactions to Cena in the audience as a fan (a big flaw of the night). After Cena took care of Elias who took advantage of the situation, Taker came out and he looked great! It was short and John botched a boot to the face, but I was a sucker for this. 8/10

Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn were against Shane McMahon and a returning Daniel Bryan. The latters won with great emotion in a nice match. 8/10

For the Raw women's title, gigantic Nia Jax beat her former best friend Alexa Bliss. Like the last few Manias, the build-up wasn't good. But the build up for this was excellent. And the booking made sense! 8/10

Raw tag team champions, The Bar, went up against Braun Strowman and a kid (referee John Cone's son) Nicholas whom he seemingly randomly picked from the crowd. It was funny, but they should have used Braun's mystery partner as the way to bring back Lashley like they did tonight on Raw. Made better sense that way. But I'm not upset. It was kinda nice to see this kid shine. 7/10

Roman Reigns and Brock Lesnar closed the show. Brock has made the universal title irrelevant and meaningless. Plus he doesn't deserve to have held it for over a year. Not to mention his matches are one-sided with him doing 15 German-suplexes with an F5. Their first Mania match was a dud, but this sucked! The tired crowd bashed it. Coming from someone who saw it fresh, it certainly did suck! Brock did 2 moves (sometimes he did belly-t-belly, but it is still nearly the same thing) and Roman also did two! Roman always does more moves! Brock miraculously added a third move by the end (elbow strikes) which busted Roman open. Brock won. I would have been all for Brock winning if I knew he would show up more than a couple times a year. Put all that aside, the match was awful. 3/10

WrestleMania 34

Warning: Spoilers
This was kind of a loaded show, but I went in with low expectations and I think they kind of reached them.

The Ronda Rousey tag was wild and a WWF throwback with all the chaos, but it wasn't exactly a good match.

AJ Styles and Shinsuke Nakamura had a classic in Japan, but this one was just okay.

And we need a break from Brock Lesnar and Roman Reigns in the title picture.

Decent Show, if too long
bh_tafe312 April 2018
Warning: Spoilers
Well, Ronda Rousey made Steph tap, Nicholas had a Big Day Out and Brock retained to widespread apathy at a 5 hour WrestleMania that burned out the crowd long before the end came.

I'm skipping the pre show which included a men's battle royal won by Matt Hardy,a women's battle royal won by Naomi and a Cruiserweight Championship match won by someone you've probably never heard of and don't care about because no one watches 205 Live (though the show is quite good these days).

The night proper started off very strongly with two excellent matches. First was a Triple Threat match for the Intercontinental Title, the champion (and new father: congratulations!) Miz putting the belt on the line against Finn Balor and Seth Rollins. They have a fast and fun match that went for 10-15 minutes and was won by Seth. Perfect opener. Next up saw Charlotte Flair retain the SD Women's Championship in a great match, arguably the best of the night, against Asuka, ending her 200+ match winning streak in the process. A few people annoyed by Charlotte ending the streak, but personally I've always felt that you need to end long winning streaks before you put the belt on someone. It just detracts from the title reign otherwise. Case in point: Bill Goldberg. And Charlotte has earned her spot as the top woman in the company and lost the title to Carmella two days later on SD, so stop complaining.

In a comedy piece, John Cena, who'd made a series of challenges to the Undertaker coming into the event and was sitting in the crowd, not officially booked for a match, gets a message from a referee and sprints out the back. Looks like Taker is in the building.

Next up we have a 4 way match for the US Title, Champion Randy Orton putting it on the line against Bobby Roode (whose WM debut this was) JInder Mahal and Rusev. They have a short match to calm the crowd down. Mahal pins Rusev and that's about it.

Next we have the real Main Event and it delivered big time as former UFC fighter Robda Rousey made her in ring debut teaming with Kurt Angle against triple H and Stephanie McMahon. This. Was. Great. All 4 looked great and Rousey's greenness was well hidden. Satisfying end as she hits a brutal looking arm bar on Steph forcing het to tap.

Next up we had another calm-the-crowd match as the Bludgeon Brothers squashed New Day and the Usos to win the SD tag titles. Then we had our comedy piece as John Cena came to the ring for his match with Taker. Lights went out Elias came out instead. After a brief concert from the Drifter, Cena kicked his ass, Then out comes Taker and Cena spends the nest 3 minutes bumping around like a cartoon character, complete with doubling back in shock and falling over after the Undertaker sat up following his only offensive move of the match, This was a match you would expect Bobby Heenan to have with the Undertaker, not John Cena. Complete waste of time.

Next up we have Daniel Bryan coming back after 3 years out with injury, teaming up with Shane McMahon against Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens. This was a good match, but they made a bad mistake with the booking with hurt the crowd reaction. Bryan was taken out early and the crowd died for 10 minutes as Shane went 1 on 2 against the heels. And, while Bryan got a nice reaction when he tagged in and ultimately forced Zayn to submit to the Yes Lock, it was not what it could have been.

Next up Nia Jax defeated champion Alexa Bliss to win the RAW Women's Championship in a perfectly acceptable match. AJ Styles and Sinsuke Nakamura than had what was, technically speaking, the best match of the night, though I feel it should have gone at least 3 minutes longer with a few more bear falls to really build to the finish. The match was criticized for not living up to their Wrestle Kingdom classic, but I question how many in WWE's audience know what Wrestle Kingdom is, let alone what type of match they had there. Anyway, Styles wins with a Styles Clash. Nakamura then turns heel, low blowing Styles after handing him the belt. This was awesome.

Next we had a waste of time, Braun Strowman picking a kid out of the audience named Nicholas to team with him so he could win the RAW Tag titles from Sheamus and Ceasaro on his own. Both guys deserved better.

Brings us to the main event in which Brock Lesnar, in a big surprise, retained the RAW Championship against Roman Reigns in a good match. But the real story was the crowd's utter apathy to what was going on. Chants of "Bring Back NIcholas", "This is Awful" and "We Want Beach Balls" rang out. No one reacted at all when Reigns kicked out of an F5 for the first time, a spot they'd been building for a year. Like I said though, it was actually a pretty good match. Reigns bumped like a mad man and got busted open by an elbow. Lesnar's frustration at Reigns' resilience was well conveyed. This crowd wanted none of Reigns and then popped big time for Brock's eventual win. And they were smart about it. Rather than booing him, they just ignored him and ruined the match, which creates a lot more issues for the WWE aesthetically and may actually force a rethink about how they're using Reigns.

Decent show, went downhill after the mixed tag. They killed the crowd at the start of the Daniel Bryan match and never really won them back from there on.

WrestleMania: Actually managed to be worse than I expected
Platypuschow9 April 2018
WWE pay per views over the past few years have had the habit of being hugely mixed bags. They tend to be a royal crapfest with sprinklings of decency and Wrestlemania 34 was the same thing.

I usually break these things down but its 5am and the main event was so bad it's given me a migraine so I'll merely summarise.

Quality of wrestling, below par. And considering it included the in ring return of Daniel Bryan and a match between AJ & Nakamura that's pretty astounding.

Outcomes? A combination of logical, to stupid to mind blowingly moronic.

So what came out of the ppv that was actually good? Well Ronda Rousey proved her critics wrong and actually delivered a really good performance! The main event though dire had a very unexpected outcome that put a smile on my face and the whole thing wasn't as predictible as expected.

Regardless this was Wrestlemania, the showcase of the immortals and had absolutely no excuse for being quite as much of a mess as it was.

The Good:

Ronda Rousey

Unpredictible (For a change)

The Bad:

Bray Wyatts anti-climatic return

Cruiserweight finale embarassment

Constant John Cena reactions

Adverts during matches

Record number of announcer botches

Some of the booking decisions were bizzare and highly illogical

3D graphics were dumb

Pointless Elias section

Kid Rock couldn't even be bothered to show up

Brauns partner, really!?

Things I Learnt From This PPV:

When you do a tournament for a title and it culminates at the biggest show of the year and nobody cares about it.........you know you have problem

Saying that two wrestlers know one another intimately is maybe a bad call

Booker T saying Cedric Alexander may be the most talented person in the locker room is the dumbest thing he's said yet, and he talks a lot of crap

Future of music, really?!?!

If you want to know the state of the WWE just remember Kid Rock is in the WWE Hall Of Fame and THE Rock isn't

Shane needs to stop wrestling, he's an embarassment

I can't be the only one who wanted Braun Strowman to turn on his partner, right?

A very enjoyable mania phenomenal in places
paudieconnolly9 November 2020
Fast and furious opening match high speed 3 way intercontinental title match Seth Rollins Miz and Finn Balor with the Irishman in his first Wrestlemania open mania in style. Asuka flair smack down women's title Queen v empress keeping the standards high for the event in another very good match with some amazing moves and a nice show of respect at its conclusion. Fatal 4 way for United States title this was a poor match with a soft finish. Then it's was time to play the game as always a big Wrestlemania entrance by Triple h & Stephanie V Kurt angel & Ronda Rousey Team Olympic athletes . This was areal fun adventure.timing and selling not perfect by Rousey yet but looking back on this match shows just how far she came in one year will be headlining the main event of Wrestlemania with flair and lynch in an awesome match. Tag team titles three very different tag teams could have made for a better match. Cena tried calling out the deadman for a Wrestlemania moment . Will he return one year on from a defeat removed his hat and jacket and placed them in the Centre of the ring as if to hang up his gloves. Answer the call or Rest In Peace. No spoilers here. Uninteresting return of Daniel Bryan in tag team match. Bliss Jax for raw women's championship two very different style an interesting well fought match. This should have been the main event AJ Styles Shinsuke Nakamura electric energy level in the ring . Atmosphere in the crowd was raising the roof from the entrances this was a main event feel that would not be recovered for the matches that followed . The stars did not disappoint The highlight of the event. Strowman will pick a partner from the crowd for a tag team title match. Brock Reigns final match of the night felt like the event peaked two matches back and was to good to have matches follow it

Very disappointing... Warning: Spoilers
Wrestlemania 34 will go down as one of the most bizarre wrestling events ever. The card was incredible (probably the best card of all time), but the event didn't meet expectations. The first match (triple threat for the IC title) was the best match; after that it started falling apart. There were way too many things ruining the show...
  • Jinder Mahal becoming US champion, only to lose the title to Jeff Hardy two weeks later (Rusev was the most popular guy involved in the match, but the WWE hates the idea of giving the fans what they want).
  • The Undertaker returning to the ring for a squash match against Cena (2:46 seconds). What was the point of all this? Didn't Taker retire at Wrestlemania 33? What was the point of him leaving his coat / hat in the middle of the ring the year before?
  • Braun Strowman making a joke of the whole tag team division (specially The Bar, The Revival and Gallows&Anderson, who weren't even book for the show), after chosing a 10 year old to be his tag team partner. Probably one of the most stupid things I've seen.
  • Roman Reigns vs Brock Lesnar in the worst Wrestlemania main event EVER (fans chanting "this is awful" the whole time).

In sum: this was the Wrestlemania where nothing made sense, where they decided to insult the intelligence of the fans and where they proved to the world they are at least a decade behind the times. The level of stupidity and laziness was so high that not a single chair / ladder / table was used in any match; not a single backstage moment / interview took place. On top of all that, it lasted 7 hours (2 hours on the pre-show + 5 of the main show), which made it very hard for the European audience to watch live.
