Murder in the Auvergne mountains.

First a little comment about Marthe Keller who plays the role of Irène Volkov.I remember very well "Elle court ,elle court la banlieue" , the film directed by Gérard Pirès in which Marthe Keller is partner of Jacques Higelin.I saw always last year "Marathom Man" , this thriller of John Schlesinger (1976) with Dustin Hoffman !! Now back to the story: the doctor Duroc has been poisoned by arsenic: his colleague, Irène Volkv uses arsenic products for somme medical treatments: so immediately she is suspect and put under police custody. Her daughteur, Fanny Volkov is officer of the Police Judiciaire in Paris has come to help her mother, she will be first her lawyer, and later she will be in charge of the investigation with her former colleague Chad !! At the same time there was an intoxication, somebody put little dosis of arsenic in pizzas !! Who was the Dr. Duroc ? What are the relationship between Duroc and Irène Volkov ? What about the rivalry between the Cazal family and the doctor Duroc !! What other secrets have these families of la Bourboule ? A pleasant murder investigation story ! Good performances of Julie de Bona, Agathe Bonitzer, Joakim Latzko and Marthe Keller.

well known themes

A good policier. for the large webb of themes. for the stories of characters. for the links between past and present. for complex portrait of events. the only basic sin - the ambition to say everything. to explore family relations, old pains, love stories, crimes causes, images in clash against reality, business files and too pathetic pledge for noble intentions. and that does "Les sources assassines" too long, a little confuse, victim of worms of ambiguity. sure, no surprising because many facts and themes are so familiar in French films of the last decades. theis seems so important than each become necessary ingredient of story. this film respects the rule.
