After watching a couple dozen of Nica Noelle's new wave of Gay and Transsexual porn videos, I've come to understand what she's up to, quite obvious in "Sugar Daddies", a new release which already has a sequel out there. She's settling the accounts, portraying men (and manly ones at that) in the manner that pornographers have portrayed women lo these many years.
So instead of gold diggers, that stereotype ranging from Warner Bros. starlets in the '30s to Marilyn Monroe in her prime, we have young guys cast. The formula works for fans of boy/boy scenes, but resonates with at least this film buff taking a longer view of cinematic trends.
Wolf Hudson stars in two of the requisite four vignettes - opening the show as a strictly mercenary guy who tries to sell his young boyfriend Ian Levine (one of Nica's favorite young things, as she vicariously enjoys casting and as voyeuse watching her male discoveries cavort for her camera) on the idea of getting some rich old dude to "keep" him. Wolf and JD Phoenix (as a prostitute) have a busy threesome with Wolf's good old benefactor Adam Russo together. Role-playing of Wolf literally calling Adam "daddy" is part of the game.
Second vignette has jealous Ian making love to Wolf, who wants to introduce him to some old guy to help pay off his student loans (a little topical Black Humor from auteur Nica).
So on to another couple, a filler sex scene teaming virile Ty Roderick with older fellow Dirk Caber. As Dirk remarks: "My wife can never find out about this" and money changes hands just as with a prostitute.
Final segment returns to the main story with Ian following Wolf's lead and hooking up with older (but not too old) leading man Nick Capra, whose character Nica comically names "Jonathan Mead Dunhill III". I immediately noted to myself that had Nick really been born with that name we wouldn't be seeing him starring in umpteen Gay Porn videos, but rather he would merely be jet-setting as one of the spoiled rich. In any event, there is true affection between the two guys, amplified by Ian's voice-over narration on the order of "There was no turning back now". After both deliver money shots, Nica fades out on the happy couple, but I thought I detected a still slightly worried expression on Ian's face.
So Noelle's gender bending continues, and will certainly make fine fodder for some future scholar to analyze in its totality once the still-extant pigeon-holing and disdain for pornography abates.
