Brown University has rescinded the honorary degree it awarded Bill Cosby in 1985. University President Christina Paxson wrote an email Monday to students regarding the decision. “It has become clear, by his own admission in legal depositions that became public this summer, that Mr. Cosby has engaged in conduct with women that is contrary to the values of Brown and the qualities for which he was honored by the University in 1985.” Also Read: Bill Cosby's Lawyer Blasts Fordham After School Revokes Doctorate: 'Beyond the Pale' She added, “The conduct that Mr. Cosby has acknowledged is wholly inconsistent with the behavior we expect.

★★★☆☆ The guys at Borderline Films are making something of a habit of striking, complex psychological dramas such as Antonio Campos' After School and Simon Killer, or Sean Durkin's excellent Martha Marcy May Marlene. The third member of this cinematic triumvirate is Josh Mond who having served as producer on the aforementioned films makes his directorial debut with James White (2015). A rigorous and austere drama, it's ostensibly a coming-of-age movie, albeit on in which the catalyst for change is the crippling cancer of the protagonist's mother. Christopher Abbott and Cynthia Nixon both give splendid performances, lending clear-eyed tenderness to this maternal bond.

When we meet Big Brother's new housemate Nick Henderson at the contestants' top-secret hotel, he's feeling very nervous about this week's live launch.
"I could be the first contestant to ever throw up on stage," he admits. "I get stage fright, so we'll see how it goes." In fact, Nick's not feeling very confident about any part of the show - he confesses he's wanted to be on the series for ages, but never thought he'd actually make it on. "I kind of regret it, actually!" he joked. "But it's too late now, so I'm excited and I've just got to enjoy it."
To prepare Nick a bit, we sat down for an exclusive chat to find out why he's so sure he won't triumph, why he thinks getting expelled from school was cool, and why he doesn't think he'll be able to have a romance in the house...
1. Nick really doesn't think he'll win.

Reed Richards Is A Scientific Prodigy Who Has Been Quietly Exploring The Universe’S Deepest Mysteries In His Garage, After School. After Being Transformed By One Of His Experiments, He Can Warp The Space Around Him, And Appear To Stretch His Body Into Impossible Forms And To Incredible Lengths. It was all just a clever way of trying to explain Mister Fantastic's (Miles Teller) powers that was a little too complicated. Speaking to HitFix, Fantastic Four screenwriter Simon Kinberg set the record straight. "I think it was confusing. I was a little confused by it myself. The intent was to try to explain the power with some sort of scientific explanation, but as you pointed out, most of his powers defy what we know about physics. The upshot of it is that he stretches in his movie. That is his power. That's the simplest explanation." As far as the J.J. Abrams...

The collector market for film fans has evolved quite a bit from when I was a young fan. Sure, there were opportunities for me to spend my money, but these days, there are so many better opportunities and better items. There's the entire poster phenomenon, best embodied by the success of Mondo, which has spurred what feels like an entire industry. I recently got talked into joining some commission groups, so now I've got some ultra-limited art coming my way that I look at as even more special because I had a hand in designing it. It was inevitable that soundtracks would also end up being major collector pieces, and one of the great frustrations for me when I was a younger film fan was realizing just how random the process is by which scores get released. There are some great companies now doing important archival work, like La-la-Land Records,...

So many films are devoted to chronicling the coming-of-age of teenage outcasts that these dramas may as well be their own genre. As filmmakers and screenwriters adapt elements of his or her own upbringing to the screen, the genre is often a tough one to tire from, since each creator lends their own perspectives to these stories of curiosity, heartbreak, new friendships and social pressures. Writer/director Lindsay MacKay has made a variety of shorts focused on youths; now, for her feature debut, Wet Bum, she focuses on both the delicate beauty and the danger associated with growing up.
In the Canadian coming-of-age drama, Julia Sarah Stone gives a performance of tremendous depth, spark and dramatic range. (The Toronto Film Festival crowned Stone as one of the festival’s four Rising Stars this year.) The young actor plays Sam, a pale, lonely teen that does not have many friends. After school,...

Carnadoes, planenadoes, and flamenadoes – oh my! If you thought a Sharknado was the zaniest weather occurrence to hit Hollywood, well, you’d still be right, but Into The Storm is pretty damn crazy for a more realistic take on Mother Nature’s wrath! You see kids, sometimes when one superpowered storm system loves another superpowered storm system, they have a whole gaggle of obnoxious tornado babies who like turning small towns into rubble. Then, once they mature, they form the world’s largest recorded tornado, and a windy bit of Hell touches down on Earth. Rushing cyclones, flattened houses, daredevil rednecks, swirling debris - all the weatherbug action is rather intense, but then characters have to go do something silly like open their mouths and attempt pithy dialogue. Herein lies the problem with Steven Quale’s latest disasterpiece, because while moments of intensity ravage an ambitious team of storm chasers,...

Spencer and Emily chased down a lead on Bethany and Mrs. Dilaurentis and Ali invited herself over to Hanna’s house so she could gain some credibility in Pretty Little Liars’ “Scream for Me.”
Detective Tanner Questions Ali
Detective Tanner (Roma Maffia) clearly doubts the story Ali (Sasha Pieterse) fed the police about her abduction, and Ali knows it. Tanner pulls her out of choir for a quick chat about Shana, asking her if she ever contacted her during her time away. Ali tries to gain control of the situation by pressing Tanner about who killed her mother, but Tanner clearly isn’t satisfied. Regardless, she leaves and Ali goes to inform Aria (Lucy Hale), Spencer (Troian Bellisario) and Hanna (Ashley Benson) about her interrogation. Aria blames Hanna for spilling her guts at the café, and the group thinks that A must have tipped Tanner off about them being in New York.

Growing up in the 1980s and 1990s was an absolute pleasure. We were the last generation of kids who truly knew how to be kids.
These days, playing outside has been replaced by sitting inside texting, playing video games and surfing the internet. Dressing like a kid (you know – jumpers with wrestlers, Thundercats, My Little Pony and Barbie on them) has been replaced by adolescents being ludicrously image conscious and the rise of political correctness and “health and safety gone mad” has meant that some of the harsh realities of growing up – things that turned us in to responsible and respecting adults – have simply disappeared.
Consequently, reminiscing about our youth is something that we do with a lot of fondness, as those days are not only gone for us, they’re also never going to be experienced by the current generation of youngsters that we’re bringing up – and in...

There's more sentient life to be found in James' latest Star Trek: The Next Generation lookback...
Review
This review contains spoilers.
3.16 The Offspring
As the Enterprise is charting an asteroid belt (To Boldly Go!), Wesley, La Forge and Troi are heading to Data's lab to see what surprises he's got in store for them. Dangerous territory indeed, because he might have written a new poem or something. As it is, they don't have to wait long: when they arrive at the lab, he quickly introduces them to Lal, his new robo-child, which he built after attending a cybernetics conference.
Naturally, everyone flips out. Partly because Lal is the first android to be successfully fashioned after Data, and partly because they object to Data essentially knocking together new sentient life out of spare parts found in the ship's garage. When Picard says he'd rather have been informed in advance, Data points...
