absolutely awesome!
14 December 2006 | by InsaneoramaSee all my reviews

i'm amazed more people haven't seen this. I first saw this film in 2003 when it played at the New York Horror Film Festival, along with my film. No film stuck with me more during that festival than this one.

I've seen tons of shorts, having been to many many film festivals. And Scream for Me is, by far, the best of the bunch. Absolutely mesmerizing, weird, creepy, violent, unsettling and, at times, even funny. The performances are all incredible, particularly Tony Simmons as the Madman. I've watched it, at least, 5 or 6 times, since getting it on DVD and each time, there's something new in there to behold.

The film is one long, very intense scene, filled with dialogue and multiple mood changes. Its very well written, and director Christopher Broadstone changes the mood and tone of the scene with incredible ease. It switches from fast paced and violent, to hypnotic and surreal at the drop of a hat (or in this case, the click of a CD player).

Beneath all the violence, necrophilia, and sheer outrageousness is a complex script about a killers desperate need to look into the eyes of a dying soul, and peek into what lies beyond the realm of death. The first time I saw it, I was so taken aback by the visuals and over-the-top behavior on screen, that the depth of the script did not sink in until the 2nd or 3rd viewing.

Find this, and pick it up. It is simply incredible.
