It's getting better and better

Warning: Spoilers
I like where it's going about the parallel worlds. When car colors change, I can go for that. But names? Paul's wife and daughter have their names changed but Paul didn't go much about that. I think he should look more confused. Even more at the end when he meets a very different Bud! But like I said, I like where it is going!

Who pushed the button?

Warning: Spoilers
That is the only question I have left after this episode.

Very, very decent work by the writers in stitching two parallel worlds with quite awesome little overspills of elements/people/sounds from one to the other. The trick is known and not surprising, but when it's executed the way they did it in this episode it's a pleasure to watch.

But there is one thing that doesn't make sense. The unlocking of the decoupling mechanism of the Soyuz-1. That last bolt that had to be fixed from the station. Not possible in any of the worlds.

In Jo's universe she's in the shuttle, dead Paul with her, parallel world Paul is also in the shuttle and her parallel world dead body floats in the ISS.

In Paul's universe he's in the shuttle, dead Jo floats in the ISS, parallel world dead Paul is in the shuttle and parallel world Jo is in the shuttle.

Are we to assume that Jo's dead body accidentally pushed a required button sequence in both worlds? X - Doubt.

Stunning

Just seen episode six. This show is a masterpiece. One of my all time favorites, top 5. The acting, the effects, the look and feel of the show, the emotional shockwaves of this particular episode.. I am in awe of it. How anyone even remotely interested in intelligent sci-fi can fail to connect with this gem, remain a total mystery, perhaps the greatest of them all. But I guess there is not enough explosions or mayhem in it. That's ok, there are shows for you, too.

The scene at the wake, and the echo from a previous episode (there are more in this episode) was one of the tensest and most harrowing I've ever seen. That scene alone was worth sitting through the previous episodes.

One thing though.. I hope this is the only season, or that there is only one more planned, as I can see a risk of if getting too convoluted, too hard to follow. Let it end at the top.

Everything's starting to make sense

Warning: Spoilers
I don't understand the bad reviews with this show. Yes the show started in space, but it's obviously more about the consequences of that space trip and theories about what going to space could do.

That episode was SO GOOD because everything started making more sense (not that we didn't already know what was going on). Even some scenes like the friend stepping on the bunny where I told myself "wait... this couldn't make sense", well it actually did, since she was seeing herself and not her friend. Best episode yet and I can't wait for the last two. I'm hoping it doesn't end with more added questions than answers tho, but I fear it'll be the case.

Yes, baby wipes can plug space ship holes which are small enough.

Warning: Spoilers
I read the other review with 1 star rating, complaining about use of baby wipes. And actually that person doesn't know what they are talking about. As per reddit user u/Konamicoder -

Here's a relevant answer from a fellow Redditor on the vacuum pull from a hull breach being relatively small depending on the size of the breach:

"The vacuum "pull" is nothing but the internal pressure pushing against a lack of external pressure. So the force is given by a pressure differential of about one atmosphere acting on the area of the breach. For a small hole this is not a lot at all: Atmospheric pressure is 1 bar = 105 Pa = 100000 N/m2 . If you have a breach with a cross section of 1 m2 , the force would be 100000 N, i.e. Roughly the equivalent of of 10 tonnes of weight distributed over that area. A hole with 100 cm2 area (a fist sized hole in the hull) would only have 1000 N force, roughly 100 kg worth. Enough to lose air, but if you want to plug such a hole by putting e.g. A body part or a book on it it will hold.

If you have access to a vacuum pump (e.g. In a science lab) put your finger over the tube and you will feel a slight pull - this is exactly what would happen with the space scenario."

Bottom line: Paul could have temporarily plugged that breach with his finger safely. Same with baby wipes as a temporary plug!

Baby wipes??!!##>>
Xavier_Stone13 March 2024
Warning: Spoilers
I guess it had to happen sooner or later, an unbelievable scene to make everything else that's so outlandish seem normal. But baby wipes to fill a crack in the glass? Unreal.

I guess the writers are really just out of any ideas, and have no idea how anything is supposed to work. Jumping from timeline to timeline, quick character interactions and then some flashbacks. Lol.

Perhaps if you spent a long enough time plotting everything out or are really invested in this you can keep watching, I just can't and have to stop now.

Sure there was some cool dual universe theory in the beginning but the writers have rehashed and rehashed that same idea for ages now. It doesn't make for an interesting show.

Can't do anymore and I'm out. When your space drama continually focuses on the child actors perhaps you've lost your way.

Episode 6
bobcobb30121 March 2024
Warning: Spoilers
"Paul Is Dead" took this show and completely flipped it on its head. We now know exactly what is going on, or at least we think we know what is going on and that is that worlds collided someone thanks to what went on in space. Quantum physics, as it was described by Henry/Bud, but who knows.

This was an entertaining episode, the show has been good as a whole, but it still just seems a little off. I can't really put my finger on what it is, but the show is just not action-packed enough, not thrilling enough, but it is worth watching and maybe the payoff in the end will make it all worth it. We can only hope.
