It all begins with poor writing

Bree Mills' "Pure Taboo" series is successful -part of the "sizzle' that Porn platform Adult Time uses to recruit paying subscribers. So why rock the boat? That's the question that explains why the XXX series may soon pass up mainstream's "NCIS" in number of episodes produced, even though the individual vignettes remain stupid, mean-spirited and often insulting -the fans don't seem to care.

So I remain a contrarian -watching each half hour to an hour long segment in hope that the little porn story will make sense and the characters depicted behave somewhat believably. Yet hack writers Midnight and Fistopher Nolan seem to maintain their near-perfect records of providing drivel as their scenarios.

Title scene this time is penned by Ms. Mills herself, yet is as crummy as the work of her usual hired hands. She even takes nearly all credits: writer, producer, co-director (with star Seth Gamble) and a key NonSex supporting role as his supervisor at work.

The title is all about him: he's a former sexual predator who has been rehabilitated and now works for Mills as an "intake counselor", interviewing newbies who have joined this imitation-Alcoholics Anonymous organization as clients.

Bree presents him with quite tall (and alluring) Charlotte Sins. Bree's screenplay is devoid of suspense: Charlotte is provocatively sexy and seduces Gamble with near-zero resistance. Yes, he's relapsing on the spot, as promised in the title. Their gonzo sex is what the fans paid to see, and that's all they get. No plot twists here -just a stupid scene with a nothing ending (the cum shot in her face is literally the climax, duh).

Supporting vignette, written by Nolan, is worse. Star John Strong's acting is poor and the title is the idiotic, condescending "joke" of the episode: "Watch Your Step". Paige Owens plays a young prostitute who shows up at Strong's house: her assignment is role-playing, not pretending to be his late daughter named Darcy -no, Nolan's script emphasizes that she must pretend to be his late STEP-daughter, since in porn the ritual of characters stating "but you're my stepmother!" or "aren't you 18 now?" has taken over as a mode of integrating legal/censorship disclaimers early in every story.

They have mechanical sex, he confesses that he's been guilt-ridden since that night his daughter fled from him and fatally fell down the stairs (oopsie!), but somehow Paige has cured him of his nightly compulsion to live out his unrequited lust for Darcy. And yes, the scene does end with Strong reciting the title tag line, a groaner if ever there was one -thank you, Nolan.
