Two guys walk into a bar... which is strange because you would think if the first guy walked into it, the second guy would have seen it! *rim shot* Wocka, wocka, wocka! Ah, to be a funny man. And that is the subject of the new web series presented by Daily Motion entitled, just that, The Funny Man. However, this dude is anything but funny and actually seems really difficult to get along with.
Dm was gracious enough to bring this web series to us just in time for Halloween, releasing one segment of the project each day from October 25 to November 3. The story (at least what I've seen so far) revolves around a deranged comedian with a real Norman Bates vibe. He wears a mask that makes him look like a walking Hot Pocket, but the bad intentions this guy exudes cannot be overstated.
I definitely suggest you scroll down,...

We've got less than a month until top ten lists for 2010 are due. Which means we've got less than a month to catch up on all the films we missed. In an effort to make sure I don't overlook anything in my own personal movie cramming session, I posted this message to Twitter earlier this afternoon:
Finish this sentence: "The movie you need to see before making your 2010 best-of list is ____________."
The responses I got, from professional critics and amateur enthusiasts, created such an impressive list, that I thought it was worth sharing. Obviously there are holes, and the nature of my question to Twitter means massive hits like "Inception" didn't get mentioned. But this is a good place to start catching up, and I'm more than willing to make this a living document. If there are movies you think deserve to be added, send me a message on Twitter.

There's no denying that comic books are often strange — some might even say trippy.
In honor of April 20th, the day when everyone seems to have mind-altering moments on the brain, it seemed fitting to take a look at some of our favorite characters from the comic book world who have experimented with hallucinogenic and psychedelic drugs. While we certainly don't advocate such activities, we can't help but celebrate these comic-book moments that have varied from hilariously far-out to dangerously past the brink of insanity.
Read on for four of our favorite psychedelic, surreal and otherwise trippy comics and story arcs.
The Invisibles: Pretty much anything and everything that Grant Morrison has ever written qualifies as "trippy" (if you haven't read "Animal Man," please get on that) but "The Invisibles" tops the charts even by his standards.
Widely seen as a major influence on "The Matrix,...

Part 3: From Ben Elton to L Ron Hubbard
Ben Elton Turned rock history into a 'jukebox musical' cash cow
"The Matrix meets the Arthurian legend meets Terminator 2," was how Ben Elton hilariously described his Queen musical when it debuted in 2002. A more honest commentator might have pegged We Will Rock You as being a bit like Suzi Quatro directing a particularly stupid episode of Deep Space Nine using a cast entirely drawn from the Camden branch of Fresh & Wild. By blowing off any regard for plot, cliche or character arc, Elton took the genteel traditions of musical theatre and rock's outsider chic, and served them up as a mindless Mor smoothie. Marketing men realised there were plenty more theatregoers too old to rock'n'roll, yet too dumb for Sondheim. And so, as Tonight's The Night et al followed the idiot-proof recipe drawn up by Wwry and its close predecessor, Mamma Mia!
