Suniel Shetty, who is making a comeback on the big screen two years after Thank You is mighty livid. His action flick Enemmy has been granted an A certificate. That, when the film has no foul language, sex or violence.
"They say that 'thematically the film is of adult nature. Now that's a first," wonders Shetty, "I have been around for more than 20 years and have never heard of a film being granted an A certificate due to this reason. Interestingly they love the film and want the film to go as it is. They don't have any issues with the content."
That is of little respite though because an adult certificate immediately results in restricted footfalls and female crowd too turns away.
"Our film doesn't even have a single gaali. It could well be the cleanest ever Adults film released in the history of Bollywood, " says Shetty in a sarcastic tone,...

Comedy has lost one of its great innovators -- Firesign Theatre founding member Peter Bergman died Friday, March 9, 2012 due to complications from leukemia. He and his cohorts reinvented comedy with surreal, multi-layered socio-political critiques and wild wordplay. Phil Austin, Bergman, David Ossman, and Philip Proctor debuted as the Firesign Theatre in 1966 and became cult heroes by breaking or ignoring boundaries with their surreal, complexly layered material. Their work forms an ongoing critique of modern society, media saturation, and technological alienation, but they are far from overly intellectual, lacing their routines with crazy puns, twisted pop-culture references, and warped -- or invented -- folk sayings and catchphrases. To appreciate their Dadaist comedy requires a long attention span, willingness to follow free associations, and attention to detail.
The prolific quartet dissolved in the '80s, though a 1985 album reunited three members. Proctor and Bergman also worked as a duo for a while.

Pasadena - Forget the AFI Top 10 list of Best TV shows. Why should care about TV since they are the American Film Institute? This is kind like the American Diabetic Prevention Society’s Top 10 Favorite Sugary Candy Bars list. Or Bravo’s Top 10 Hunting Shows. Or Madd’s Best 10 Drinks to Mess You Up. Or Charlie Sheen’s Top 10 Things You Can Do Without Involving Hookers and Blow. If they care about TV that much, shouldn’t they be the Aftvi? But they are a pack of List Whores over at AFI with their 100 Years a 100 Stupid Lists press releases.
Why does critic or critic group have to tell you the Best or Worst of the Year? Party Favors is proud to announce the Meh Awards for the 10 TV shows that didn’t work for me in 2010. They weren’t the most pathetic things on TV, but made me lose interest in watching them.

July 3, 2010:The recent visit by Mithun Chakraborty to the sets of F.I.R has been the bane of the shooting. Having a family kind of relationship with Kavita Kaushik, a.k.a as Chandramukhi Chautala of F.I.R., Mithun desired to see the shooting and the way she acts. Though Dada had informed Kavita in advance that he would be visiting the set and the production had prepared well for it, the situation got out of hand minutes within Mithunda’s arrival as people all around just went gaga seeing him, and finally, Kavita had no option but to ask the superstar to leave.

Gordon Liu gives good glower. In the same way that Clint Eastwood's growl communicates volumes in Gran Torino, Liu, who became a star in 70s Shaw Brothers martial arts classics like The 36th Chamber of Shaolin and Executioners From Shaolin long before being cast by Quentin Tarantino in Kill Bill, commands the screen in Chandni Chowk to China as an evil, evil villain. As Hojo, a criminal kingpin whose greatest pleasure lies in decapitating rebellious villagers, Liu fixes a determined, menacing look on his face, matched by a steely glint in his eyes and precise, deadly body language. He wields the deadliest head covering since Harold Sakata's Oddjob flung his chapeau at James Bond in Goldfinger.
Liu is the best thing about Chandni Chowk to China, which opens this weekend at more than 125 screens in 50 markets in the Us and Canada and has been billed as the first ever Bollywood kung fu comedy.

Salman Khan starrer Veer has been in the news since it was announced. First it was the news that the script of the film had been written by Salman himself which created quite a buzz, then it was Salman's beefed up, bronzed warrior look in the film which was talked about and then it was Mithun Chakraborty playing Sallu's father in the film which hit the headlines. Now Veer has yet another veteran actor added to its already impressive starcast and the actor we are talking about is none other than Jackie Shroff. The buzz is that Jaggu Dada would be seen playing a negative character in the film. Bollywood Hungama spoke to Jackie who confirmed the news but didn't reveal much about his character. "Yes, I have signed Veer. It's a very interesting and different role. I start shooting for the film in December." Jackie has played the villain...
