Musicians Chris Stapleton, Snoop Dogg and drummer Cindy Blackman Santana’s cover version of Phil Collins’ chart-topping 1981 classic, “In the Air Tonight,” is the new theme song of ESPN’s “Monday Night Football,” the cabler announced on Monday.
The collab premiered ahead of both Monday night games: The Saints at Panthers game, which started at 7:15 p.m. Et on ESPN, and the Browns vs. Steelers game, which began at 8:15 pm Et on ABC. Country star Stapleton’s song “White Horse,” the first single off his upcoming album “Higher,” was previously featured on Mnf.
Earlier this year, Stapleton performed a moving version of the national anthem at the Super Bowl. In 2022, Snoop Dogg teamed with Dr. Dre, Kendrick Lamar, 50 Cent and Mary J. Blige for a halftime show that paid homage to the history of hip-hop.

Last week’s “Monday Night Football” game between the New England Patriots and the Miami Dolphins may not have ended how Tom Brady and co. planned (the defending Super Bowl champs lost 27-20), but it was business as usual for Espn’s Suzy Kolber. Now the host of the “Monday Night Countdown” pregame show along with her “Mnf” halftime and postgame duties, the Espn veteran pulls an 18-hour plus work day every Monday but still found time to talk to TheWrap about the biggest night in sports. “It has always been more than a football game, it’s been a night of entertainment,...

2017-11-09T07:02:17-08:00'Monday Night Football' Gets Ratings Boost, 'Love & Hip Hop' Stays Hot
Despite national anthem controversies and all the other woes that have been plaguing the NFL lately, this season's TV ratings numbers continue to drop nuggets of hope in the league's lap. This week's edition of Monday Night Football on Espn improved its ratings considerably over last week, and the broadcast easily won the night. VH1's Love & Hip Hop, however, drew a significant audience of its own.
Via TV By the Numbers.
Once again, Espn’s continued coverage of “Monday Night Football” led the night in the Monday cable ratings this week.
Here's how our 10-person panel voted. Do you agree?

This weekend at the Pro Football Hall of Fame enshrinement event, Espn analyst Tom Jackson will wrap his 29-year career with the cabler, retiring to spend more time with his family.
“Having joined in the early stages of Espn and remained with the same company for 29 years is especially gratifying,” the Hall of Fame broadcaster said in a statement. “The friendships made are too numerous to mention but I know that many of them will last a lifetime…. This move just comes at a time when the priority of my life is spending time with my family.”

His first on-camera work was on ESPN2’s SportsSmash, and not long after, when Keith Obermann left SportsNight and moved over to SportsCenter, Scott took his place as anchor on the ESPN2 show. “He was like a ball of fire walking in the door,” Espn Svp Mark Gross said about Scott joining the network. “I had never met anybody like Stuart Scott.” In addition to his work on SportsSmash, SportsNight and SportsCenter, Scott was also a part of Espn’s Monday Night Countdown and ABC’s NBA coverage. During his 21-year career on the network, he interviewed two different presidents, Bill Clinton and Barack Obama, and sat down with many iconic sports figures, including Tiger Woods and Michael Jordan. Now they have a deal, a month after he ended his 17-year career with a victory in the Super Bowl, and he is bringing his act to Bristol. Lewis, who signed with Wme last summer before deciding to retire after this season, will contribute to Espn’s football coverage and appear on Monday Night Countdown, Sunday NFL Countdown and SportsCenter. He also will be part of the traveling team to Monday Night Football games, reporting throughout the week on Espn shows, and he’ll have a weekly segment on the Mike And Mike In The Morning radio show. “Ray is a tremendous addition to our NFL roster and he will have an immediate impact on our coverage,” said John Wildhack,...
