*full disclosure: a screener of this film was provided by Mti Home Video.
Director/writer: Drew Maxwell.
Cast: Leah Rose and Ryan Schaufler.
Drew Maxwell developed and completed Hell's Labyrinth in 2007. The film was called Carnivorous back then. Recently, Mti Home Video renamed this title and they have also released Hell's Labyrinth on DVD as of April 17th. As backstory, this movie was almost exclusively shot on green screens, so the cinemascape is CGI heavy. This process also created the film's excessive price tag at 5 million, which then caused some distribution troubles. Three years later and the film has finally been released.
The characters in Hell's Labyrinth were also looking for their release miles below the surface. This film is a fantasy thriller for its location, hell and the story involves 19 captives fighting to escape their devilish prison. The CGI environments and creatures created for some unbelievable situations, but the...

If you’re like me, you thought to yourself how much better the Saw and Cube movies would have been if they just had monsters instead of morbid death traps. That seems to be the basic idea behind Hell’s Labyrinth, in which a group of people wake up to find themselves trapped in a hellish maze populated by demons.
Synopsis:
After being kidnapped, Kate Walker wakes to find herself trapped in a small chamber. She realizes she's not the only prisoner, as nineteen others share the same fate. Hunted by demonic creatures, the group must band together if they are to escape the hellish labyrinth and survive the onslaught.
Hell’s Labryrinth was shot entirely in front of a green screen and boasts thousands of special effects created in Lightwave, Zbrush, and Apple Shack.
Drew Maxwell (Guardians) is the writer/director of lthis ow budget Dante’s Inferno-ish monster movie starring Leah Rose,...

Mountain of the Flesheaters The people behind Mountain of the Flesheaters, which is getting set to start filming pretty soon, have just released a cast list with some of the actors involved in the project. One word that comes to mind when seeing all these names is "Wow!". Even if the film fails from a story standpoint (which we hope it doesn't), at least there will be this huge cast to help keep your interest. Some of the names that appear in this cast are iconic horror actors that fans everywhere grew up watching mixed with some of the brightest new talents in the indie horror field. Here's some of the actors and actresses that will be appearing in the film:
-Debra Lamb (Stripped to Kill & Beverly Hills Vamp)
-Linnea Quigley (The Return of the Living Dead & Silent Night, Deadly Night)
-Lynn Lowry (Cat People & The Crazies...

"In a post-apocalyptic world ravaged by feuding warlords, a group of desperate soldiers hatch a plan to steal a Warlord’s treasure and start a new life. Faced with the threat of a horrific death at the hands of the Warlord’s executioners, the men escape into a desolate and forbidden land known only as the Shadowlands. Now the men must flee from the Warlord’s vicious assassins while defending themselves from the terrifying creatures that inhabit the land."
So goes the synopsis for Dark Nemesis (originally titled Ferocious), the latest low budget creature feature from filmmaker Drew Maxwell. Maxwell's previous effort, Carnivorous, has yet to receive a proper release, which is a shame because it has a lot going for it despite not exactly having the most stellar digital effects. I suspect the first line of my Carnivorous review will apply doubly for Dark Nemesis:

Originally called Ferocious, Dark Nemesis is artist/director Drew Maxwell's latest independent, green screen opus. His last film, Carnivorous has its fans and its detractors, but I like that Maxwell has the ambition to get his vision up on the screen in feature form, regardless of budget and I think a lot of the images in this trailer represent some of this hard work.
