At Mumbrella360 Vice Australia presented Brand Rolled, a night of the best brand-funded content on the web from around the world. Vice Australia director Michael Slonim argues going from ads to content is a difficult yet rewarding change, and offers a selection of the night’s curation.
Brands today should be thinking and acting like media, creating content that’s entertaining as hell and pulls in audiences.
But where should we look to for inspiration when most television, like most advertising, is boring, derivative and easily ignored?
Enter HBO – the undisputed champion of television channels and probably one of the most powerful brands on the planet right now.
That familiar screen of fuzz and “ehhhhhh” sound precedes so many of the shows that young people call their favourite, no matter what screen or legal context they watch them in.

It's been a while since we've had any sort of update on the Tara Reid/Cloris Leachman (now there's a dream team if we ever saw one) flick The Fields, but today the filmmakers announced the launch of a Street Team utilizing the film’s network of loyal Facebook fans to promote the film and raise awareness worldwide.
Basically, they're trying to get 100,000 people to "like" them on Facebook, and if you help them, you will get to watch exclusive behind-the-scenes videos, receive special video messages from the cast and crew, and if the goal is reached, you'll get an on-screen credit! Not too shabby, right? To get more details and to join the Street Team, just click the graphic below the synopsis.

Thanks to our loyal reader Joey, who probably ought to go to work for the CIA he's so good at digging up clues, we got some more details on the previously "untitled horror pic" Variety reported that David Mazzoni and Tom Mattera are helming and Tara Reid will be starring in. Apparently it's called The Fields.
From the project's MySpace page: "The Fields is a psychological thriller based on true events that took place in a small Pennsylvania town in 1973. We're not too sure why Tara Reid has become the go-to girl for some fans who have hopelessly been petitioning to get her in A Nightmare on Elm Street . It's an odd phenomenon. Those Reid fans can take comfort in knowing she is doing a horror film called The Fields . According to Variety , she'll play a mother "whose family is terrorzed by an unseen presence" for directors Tom Mattera and David Mazzoni. The film's official MySpace page says it is based on a true story that took place in a small Pennsylvania town in 1973. Tommy Lee Wallace ( It , Halloween III ) is acting as associate producer. Shooting begins this September in Philadelphia. Mattera and Mazzoni previously collaborated on The 4th Dimension which hit DVD through Tla Releasing last year.
