The '90s New York dirty lived in atmosphere of this show is amazing.

I really enjoyed the Morlocks and their motivation. You definitely feel empathy for them but can easily see how they can go bad. It plays on the lore of mutants that dwell in the sewers or underground that have appeared in other stories such as Beneath the Planet of the Apes or Futurama or The Ninja Turtles. The duel with no powers between Storm and the Morlock leader was awesome and very good for a TV-Y7 show in the '90s.

I love the art and atmosphere and vibes of this show especially this episode. The drawings of NYC and the architecture makes it feel so dirty and lived in yet enjoyable and very very '90s. The underground was dripping with atmosphere also. Feels like The Warriors and the Ninja Turtles completely also like Spider-Man and Hey Arnold.

Great meme from Wolverine. You really dive into his psyche this episode along with very good character moments from others as well. This episode shows many different perspectives especially the Morlocks who are even more scrutinized than the average mutant.

The idea of a bunch of hideous mutants (who can't pass for normal humans) having to live down in the sewers is a cool one.

This episode is extremely fast paced and action packed. Relentless. We get to see so many weird and awesome sewer mutants with interesting looks and nifty powers.

We get great use of Wolverine's feelings for Jean here. Intense jealousy.

(Old grandma mind control mutant - I don't see why she has to live underground, she just looks like a normal old woman).

The intros were done and this is the first adventure. One of the best things about the animated format over live-action is that it is much easier to have characters on the background. And it really created such an ambiance.

This episode is a mini adventure with many mutants and the fight gets real in this one.

Captive Hearts.

The comical dialogue has certainly become more of a staple, but I'm not too much of a fan of this episode, with a gang of random misfits. I mean, I like how it shows Jean and Cyclops out and about enjoying the evening, then the contrast to the Morlocks who cannot pass as human, but you've got Storm with claustrophobia and a fight with the leader to rule, which isn't great. Since Storm won the leadership of them, surely there will be battles in the future where they can be of help, otherwise it's kind of silly. Wolverine here also showcases his strong feelings for Jean Grey, but she's with Cyclops and he feels the need to vacate.
