Playing the bass in love with Jesus
RainDogJr13 August 2008
Warning: Spoilers
This is probably my favourite episode of Season 7 (2003) and if not at least it is extremely hilarious, really that's all that matters. They made fun of how musicians want to stop the Internet downloading. We see Metallica (I hate those bastards as much as the Dude for all the Napster stuff and anyway their latest album really sucks!), Ozzy, Britney and the new band Moop on strike all together in order to stop the downloading for free. Of course this is funny, actually very funny since we see a band (Moop obviously) that is worry about the people that will get their music for free before they make the music! Of course is also quite funny to see the ENOURMOS and quite RELEVANT consequences that affect musicians like Lars Piece of Crap Ulrich but the real hilarious stuff comes from Cartman, Butters and Token as the new sensation of Christian Rock, Faith + 1. We know Cartman so is not a surprise when he enters into the Christian Rock stuff just for the $; here begins a hilarious relation with Token (in Cartman's world if you are black then you know how to play bass so with Token…). Cartman knows how to play in the business, no doubt about it, but he is also like the biggest kid a***o** in the entire world (all of why he is a masterpiece of a character) and probably the only one who can really make angry the cutest and most friendly kid from South Park, of course I'm talking of Butters. The issue with the endless Cartman vs. Kyle "battle" delivers a terrific conclusion that marks also the end of Faith + 1. Definitely a great episode with hilarious songs and a great and fair "commentary" on the downloading issue; like for an advance just check the track listing of the debut album of Cartman, Butters and Token's band. 1 "The Body of Christ" 2 "Christ Again" 3 "A Night with the Lord" 4 "Touch Me Jesus" 5 "I Found Jesus (With Someone Else)" 6 "Saviour Self" 7 "Christ What a Day" 8 "I Wasn't Born Again Yesterday" 9 "Three Times My Savior" 10 "Jesus Touched Me" 11 "Pleasing Jesus"

Very funny episode!

Christian Rock Hard is one of the episodes that came with the "Passion Of The Jew" DVD, which includes that episode, this one and "Red Hot Catholic Love".Now, it would not be worth it as it is only three episodes, but back in 2004 when I bought it, they did not have South Park episodes online(at least I did not know about it), and Comedy Network(Canada's comedy central) did not get new episodes until a year later! Anyway, this is a very funny episode which I still quote to this day.Cartman thinks that Christian Rock will make them rich, Kyle disagrees. So he makes a bet with him for $10 that he will get a platinum album before he does.Cartman gets Token and Butters in his band.Token thinks he cannot play base guitar, but Cartman knows he can...because he's black. This is a very funny gag in the episode.Their band is called Faith +1.Meanwhile, Stan,Kyle and Kenny get busted for illegally downloading music. They then realize the error of their ways and also realize that they will not make money, so they stage a strike.Christian Rock Hard is a hilarious episode of South Park!

Hilarious, Merciless Episode

Warning: Spoilers
An outstandingly hilarious and merciless episode that tears the Christian Rock fad a new one, exposing it for the exploitative crap that it is. Meanwhile, several mainstream artists like Britney Spears and Ozzy Osborne get dumped on, too.

Appealing to Janette Rallison

This episode of South Park in particular would really appeal to Janette Rallison, who just so happens to really like Christian rock (and is a huge fan of the genre!). While I was watching this episode all throughout, Janette Rallison was someone that kept on coming to mind the whole time, which isn't really surprising now that I think about it!
