A fun political episode with a slightly harder edge than most. It's nice to see a youthful Edward Woodward in an early role as a political leader along with Mike Pratt, of RANDALL AND HOPKIRK (DECEASED) fame as a baddie. Plenty of the usual action, fights and perilous moments to enjoy here.

The Saint saves a prime minister's life
coltras352 September 2021
In this political-orientated episode, the Saint is caught up in a web of blackmail, jealousy and murder after saving the life of the prime minister of a British colony.
A more serious episode with a spotlight on the characters such Edward Woodward's character and his wife, the latter is one of the possible people behind the blackmail, but there are others - apart from some fights, it works as a mystery. The pace is leisurely, the story is told efficiently.

Warning: Spoilers
For a 5th season outing, I thoroughly enjoyed myself.
The story moved along briskly, and was an excellent whodunit.
My favorite moment was the final scene in the episode: Simon was in fine fettle with the dashing young blonde (her being in costume no less!)
