Ray's cousin Gerard
mm-elek5 February 2011
The third part of this episode has to be one of the funniest things that I've ever seen on television.

In the basement, Raymond tries to "help" Gerard, and then points out how "mopey" he seems. Raymond decides to help Gerard improve himself and makes several suggestions.

Gerard's attempt to smile is simply hilarious. Between the facial adjustments and both of them saying, "now," it makes for a laugh-out-loud moment.

Fred Stoller plays Gerard, and he's perfectly cast and just nails the performance as the whiny version of Raymond. I think this is one of those episodes that will have you laughing and hitting the rewind button on the remote.

Laughed out loud!

Forgot how funny this show is! The one with cousin Gerard are hilarious. He could be Rays twin for sure. This show continues to make me laugh even 20 years after they were made. The new shows wont last 2 years! There are no new shows that can match ELR in humor, realism, and creativity. All they have is potty humor or preachy-ness. Glad there are re-runs!

One of the best ever

Everybody Loves Raymond only gets better with time. This particular episode is hysterical - Fred Stoller has to be Ray Romano's brother from another mother in real life. It's a wonder they didn't just lose it during some of their scenes together (like Harvey Korman and Tim Conway used to on the Carol Burnett show.)

Gerard's "highlighter moment" was funny enough - but when Raymond subtly sniffed it, I could not stop laughing. Also up there was the "frozen in time" moment in the kitchen when the Romanos realize the two cousins are more like twins.

I probably won't review this show again so let me just say here that Patricia Heaton is a gem. To have had multiple, successful sitcoms is remarkable. I can't begin to say enough about the supporting cast, especially Doris Roberts. To paraphrase Ray Romano, Doris Roberts was the only one who could take such an overbearing and intrusive mother-in-law character and still make her so incredibly lovable.
