Trivia The early plot of this Kilroy episode is very similar to the plot of a 1960 episode of "The Andy Griffith Show" called "Stranger in Town", in which a young man named Ed Sawyer comes to Mayberry and mystifies the town residents by knowing their names, even though they have never seen him before. Even the explanation is the same, as both Ed and Kilroy were in the army and became friends with a former resident of the small town who told them all about the town folk, and inspired them to visit the town to see it for themselves.
