The Dublin brigade continues, as a goal in the 38th minute by youngster Jack McCaffrey helped them to a 5-point victory over Cork in Croke Park in the second All-Ireland Senior Football Quarter Final on Saturday evening last.
Despite the teams being level on a number of occasions in the first half, it was Dublin who led 0-9 to 0-7 at the break of play.
The goal directly after half-time put the Dubs 5 points to the good, and while Cork managed to haul the gap back to two points with 20 minutes to play, they floundered towards the finish, and Dublin finished strongly to book a semi-final spot with late points from Rock, McManamon, Kilkenny, Bastick, and goalkeeper Cluxton, whose free-taking prowess landed the net-minder with an astonishing six points.
After the match, Cork manager Conor Counihan announced he would be stepping aside from his post. Counihan has been in charge for 6 years,...

The Game Group officially went into administration yesterday and with this action came the immediate closure of 277 of its 609 outlet stores across the UK and Ireland. This series of closures will mean 2104 people will be out of a job. Below we have the complete list of the stores in both the UK and Ireland that will no longer be with us, as reported by Retail Week.
This is the full list of stores that will be closing immediately. Dublin and Leeds seemed to be hit particularly hard losing a total of 5 stores each. My own local Game here in Stirling’s Thistle Centre looks to be getting the chop, so it’s a good thing I already headed down there to take advantage of their slashed prices. No doubt some people reading this will be in the same situation. It’ll be sad to see the stores go, especially in smaller towns like Stirling,...

As you may be aware, Disney are rolling out a Tron Night around the world. Entitled “Tron Night: 3D Experience” and happening on October 28th it will give audiences the first opportunity to step onto the grid. It’s going to be a whopping 20 plus minute sneak peek, which will be free to attend, on a first come, first served bassis. Movies.ie and Cineworld Ireland will be dishing out the tickets. Off the top of my head, this must be a first for the general public. A 20 minute preview? Pretty epic I think you’ll agree. And, keeping with things of an epic nature, every Tuesday for the next 10 weeks, exclusive video and movie content will appear online. From the Irish side of things, Tron Night will happen at 6:15pm. Oct 28th, Cineworld on Parnell Street, Dublin 1. As for the Corkonians and others outside, it’s not...
