(Spoiler alert: Do not keep reading if you have not seen the season finale of “Into the Badlands”) The season finale of “Into the Badlands” was filled with twists, betrayals, and more kung fu badassery than you can shake a stick at. Sunny (Daniel Wu) tries to trick the River King (Lance E. Nichols) by giving him the head of the colt who died in the end of the last episode instead of M.K.’s (Aramis Knight). The River King seems to accept the offering, but tells Sunny if he wants out of the Badlands, he must be on the next ship.

British production and financing companies Movision Entertainment and Spice Factory have come on board to co-finance Myriad Pictures' The River King, a supernatural thriller starring Edward Burns and Jennifer Ehle, with Nick Willing directing, Myriad's president Kirk D'Amico announced Monday. Based on Alice Hoffman's best-selling novel about a small-town cop investigating a student's suicide, the film's producers also include Michele Camarda's British production outfit, Kismet Film Co., and Canadian company imX Communications, headed by Chris Zimmer. The screenplay was adapted by David Kane. The film is expected to start shooting later this year, a Spice Factory spokesman said.
