Bud Lee's "Mystery Sex Theater" series of movies for Adam & Eve is completely forgotten today, but here's a nice example of modest Adult entertainment.
Bud's voice-over narration at beginning and end gives the show a bit of that old (but satisfying) Twilight Zone or One Step Beyond vibe. Simple story concerns home owners Inari Vachs and Dale DaBone finding their new garage filled to the brim with old bric a brac: Dale first finds old girly magazines and then a vintage Polaroid camera with film still in it.
Fantasy gimmick is that this particular camera takes photos of what the subject is really thinking, not what is seen through the device's aperture. This being porn, it presents shots of an erotic fantasy, believable since all the characters are sex-obsessed for starters.
This permits Lee to present a series of sex vignettes, with DaBone humping his luscious wife Inari and later her haughty sister April. A trio of tennis players (Dillon Day, Catalina and Monica Mayhem) pose for the camera, resulting in an instant threesome, and April's husband Chris Cannon gets to make love to stripper Mia Smiles, he having watched her striptease at a local club just before.
It's a light-hearted movie, uplifted out of the ordinary by the wonderful acting of Inari and Dale, two of Adult Cinema's most accomplished performers (both of whom obviously could have built impressive careers in mainstream cinema if given half a chance).
