Uninteresting mixed-combo effort from Buttman
lor_7 January 2015
Warning: Spoilers
John Stagliano went on holiday from his popular series of butt-centric videos with a few story features, of which THE GODMOTHER II is typical. This exercise in mixed-combo sex scenes is a waste of time, especially after I had just watched the unrelated but fascinating early porn movie (1972) THE GODMOTHER, so my interest in catching Stag's prior episode is zero.

An elderly character actress/comedienne? named Lady D, who per IMDb later appeared in a documentary about transvestite star Divine, is in the title role and makes one wonder what she actually did for a living. She plays a neighborhood vagrant who hangs out on a bench near the beach with porn comic Jack Baker, exchanging pleasantries. "Surprise" revelation at the end of the video that she is in fact The Godmother, a former Mafia Princess now packing heat and holding a grudge against a Black pimp (Tony El Ay in a rare heavy role) falls flat. Basically, auteur Stag in a no-budget production has her defined by a masculine hat -not quite the gender-crossing achievement of John Water's amanuensis Divine. And one doubts seriously whether a Broadway musical will emanate from this long-forgotten Stagliano misfire.

Along the way the semblance of a storyline has top-billed Ebony Ayes as a bountiful-breasted hooker whose rise to eminence (in a very brief allotment of screen time despite her billing) in El Ay's stable is the cause of friction supposedly that leads to Lady D's vengeance. Video packaging gives equal time to the lovely Robin Lee, but she has basically a bit role, given more featured time to hump in Stagliano's companion piece, the inelegantly titled WHITE TRASH BLACK SPLASH (don't ask what it means - I don't know even after having sat through it). The mighty Ray Victory is on hand to help Baker and El Ay deflower white women, which is of course the purpose of this genre of porn, marketed to white boys like me for our listening and masturbatory pleasure.

Fortunately Lady D does not have any sex scenes, and the video's low point has to be a segment of Amanda Tyler getting off with a male rubber doll while Baker peeps through the window. All the while, Stagliano lays on porn library music lifted from Sade's classic "Smooth Operator". To say that the once king of posterior porn is insulting the audience is redundant. I only feel sorry for the guy in terms of timing; to use the mainstream asinine (pun intended) buzzword, this "visionary" peaked his career at least a decade before the likes of Kim Kardashian made butt-worship a billion dollar industry.
