So bad it's bad
lor_8 July 2016
Jonathan Morgan gives the most embarrassing performance of his career in this finishing chunk of Jim Enright's "Poor Little Rich Girl". It's so lousy that writer Cash Markman, he of a thousand screenplays, even removes his pseudonym from the credits after owning up to writing Part 1.

I knew I was in deep trouble in the first reel when Morgan, playing a lawyer, yells "Punish me, make me watch Jim Enright movies!". Yes, that is the level of purported humor dished out here by Markman and Morgan.

The saga of title character Alexis De Vell, sort of a porno Shirley Temple for the modern age, does get wrapped up, but that's the only good thing about this junker. No surprise when she saves her uncle's strip club by raunching up the entertainment and even taking to the stage (an incredibly crummy, cheap set) to show the other strippers how it's done. Machinations of her evil step-aunt Crystal Wilder and De Vell's outsmarting her are even more stupid than usual in a Cash-penned opus.

The one scene I enjoyed was a case where leaving bloopers in the finished film proper can be a good idea. Morgan is sitting at a table doing spit takes, gesticulating madly and basically making Red Skelton on his old TV show look subtle. Poor co-star Steve Drake as "the good guy" has to keep a straight face no matter what during the lengthy take, and it makes for lousy sketch comedy worth preserving in the Porn Actors Studio archive.
